However, this leads to the point that essentially no backyard composting efforts will do this cup justice... commercial compost facilities are the only places that stand a chance to degrade the cup. I think that this will end up discouraging plenty of people trying to do the right thing.
I found a plastic bag that includes an additive to make it begin decomposing after 9 months. Do you know how long it's supposed to to take before the cup starts to biodegrade? I'll be checking back to see what you discover!
there's a bit more to it than just putting it in a pot of dirt....
