How to do a French Plait or braid

Thank you! I've tried so many times, but just ended up getting so frustrated and confused about which strand was which, and what to add where, so I'd end up just dropping it all. But I actually did it now after watching this (okay, it looks pretty rough and scruffy... but it's still a french plait!) :)

Thank you! Does look really easy! Took me three attempts to get it to look like something resembling a french plait. My five year old even turned around and said just put it in pigtails lol.

I done it! You saved my life because i needed a french plait for my dancing exams and ive done it! It looks amazing! I had to do it a few times but in the end Id one it! :)

my hair is thick and i just got an injection in my arm for cervical cancer and my arm is numb and i have really thick hair it helped alot even though i couldn't do it but ill try it out as soon as my arm feels better thanks this was good help. xx

how do I do a french braid that hangs over one shoulder? I tried doing a normal french braid and then bringing it over one shoulder but it's messy

can i just say from a hairdressing point of view you are doing this wrong. you should start from the hairline, divied it into 3 and take a section from each side of the head, from the peak to the crown, and then continue from crown to nape doing the same then plait till end

yey finally someone other then my self whocan frenchie their own hair,my friends areamazed i can do it but it took time to do and a lot of arm ache,i find the best plaits are the ones i rush,seem to come out the neater

Haha thats the same here! When I take my time to make my hair look neat it ends up with bits sticking out of it or baggy. But when I rush itm it always comes out perfect!
