I wonder if someone actually played that fast at 1:13.. or if they recorded someone and sped it up a lot. Cuz that would be VERY hard to play that fast... O.o
I just love how Hans Zimmer used traditional Romanian instruments and basic melodies, which he re-composed, recreated and turned them into something really amazing!
Okay...I'm getting upset here...WHAT is the song that plays during the fight scene with the assassin that comes to get Simza? Seriously...I can't find info on it. And I don't see it in the soundtrack either.
@cgurl1012 No it isn't, actually. This is the song that plays during the small little dancing/drinking scene at the gypsy camp. I've been looking around forums and stuff, and I'm almost positive its something called "congress reel". Look it up, then watch the assassin scene again.
@Ellsming Same here! I'm an usher and I just want to dance and jump around when all of the guests leave the theater. I like that one opera song that comes on right after this one hahaha
I love moment when Watson was dancing and Sherly (oh, Mycroft, he is awesome :D) started to sway to the rhythm - absolutely fantastic. I can listen to this song every time, I love music like it. Full of joy and positive energy, just power for all day. :)
@minerlze No people can play pizzicato that fast. It just takes a LOT of practice. I'm a cello player that can proudly say that I still have all of my fingers intact. And I also think the part that your talking about is played with a harp, if that helps.
I love how that violinist is going from deliberately sounding sloppy, to actually sounding sloppy due to speed. Amazing soundtrack, one of my favorites, Zimmer is god. And the movie was better than the first!
Another clarification: Romanians are of latin/roman (as in roman empire) descent and Gypsies, who are also called "Romani" (nothing to do with Romania!) are originally from India. They were a nomadic people and settled all over Europe. They have their own musical styles, tinted by the folk of the country they settled in. Although I have nothing against nice, law-abiding Gypsies, as a Romanian, I'm sick of being confused with them because of the sociologic and geographic ignorance of people!
just to clarify: even though it is supposedly played by a gypsy band, in a more gypsy-like style, the tune is Romanian and it's called "Hora ca la caval".
The tune has also been recorded by Gheorghe Zamfir on the pan flute
This movie was a lot more light hearted then the first. infact, some parts from the original Holmes movie scared the **** out of me. But I liked this one better, sooooo funnnyyyy :DDDDDD
@simpleplanfan011 XD well, i dunno, i guess i was one of the few who didn't fall for it. Don't get me wrong, i'm spiritual and i believe in magic, but like, i don't, know, the way Robert Jr. was hinting at all those things wasn't really like, a mystery XD that natural suspicion just grew on to me i guess XD from years of following Sherlock Holmes <3 I don't blame you though~ Everyone in the theater was stumped XD
@Ellsming wanna see you bumping and dancing around with broom ! God I love this music !
