The scarf has to go, but you definitely hit the nail on the head about men needing to wear more color, I was reading a site about colors and the author was of the opinion that women live longer because they wear more colors. Colors have vibrations, and those vibrations influence not only you cause you're wearing it but also people who see you. I'm not gonna go into the science, that's freely available all over the internet about how colors affect us, but men need color. (not only gays)
