My average is a 185 I'm 14 yrs old and I have 4 bowling balls. One spare ball for ten pin and a evil siege for dry lanes and a hammer plague for medium oil and a storm virtual gravity nano for heavy oil and I have been struggling and screwing up my arm swing and the way I roll the ball and I'm fixing it up and I bowl Almost every day I can and u should bowl at dans village bowl in Brownsville Wisconsin USA ciao
Can someone tell me if after you release the ball do you need to rise your body a little? Please answer because I have a bowling competition coming up soon!
the problem is that teaching isnt for everyone. Anyone that either bowls on drier lanes you have to open your sholders and have an inside to out swing.
could someone explain to me exactally where the 4 inch groove is, I don't really understand. Im on a bowling team for my school and was selected to go to state because sadly my adverage of 104 was the second highest on our team, and Im fearing it because I don't really think im that good.
He's talking about the area that you want your swing to stay in. Your swing needs to be nice, smooth and straight back, so you can hit your target. So, he's saying that you have about 4 inches of room for your swing to be in so you can stay consistent. If you find that you're throwing the ball off to the right of your target, your swing is probably off behind your back. If you're missing left of your target, your swing is probably off to the right away from your body.
I have been Listening carefully the wide options in order to improve the method to bowl, good bowling. I have been increasing my average in bowling game consistenly. Really it´s beneficial to understand the process to follow the recipe. I am very thankfull to have the chance to improve my bowling game step by step. Apreciated the dedications of these masters. Thanks,. John A. Williams-Venezuela
It helps a lot if you push the ball out towards your target before you let it fall into the backswing. That puts your swing right on line with your target, all you have to do is kinda maintain that line in your swing and try not to get it off track. They should have mentioned that in my opinion.
I'm finding more consistency by pushing my arm away from my body on the backswing, then straightening out my arm, then go forward. Does that make sense?
personally for me, i hold it higher up at the beginning of my approach, then i have to drop the ball faster, and it comes back down faster, so it goes down the lane faster =] thats just what i do.
Push off harder with your power step (second to last step). The arm needs to flow evenly, in terms of power. Of course, I'm not very good half the time.
I dunno. I'm a right hander & have a bad habbit of my swing going a little to the left near the top of my swing. However, I do it so consistantly that it doesn't effect my target hitting. *Shrug* I guess text book is only a model to build from, but if you do something consistantly, no point in really changing it.
Actually, if you do something WRONG consistently you will compensate in other areas to accommodate the error. If you correct the issue the other compensatory "ticks" must then be eliminated. That's why I'd rather teach someone whose never bowled than clean up a long-time bowler.
all these videos are only SO GOOD without showing the execution of the lesson!!! wtf its called slo-mo! just throw teh damn ball and slo-mo it as you explain it!! watching a guy throw an imaginary ball is just ridiculous!! I MEAN DID HE BOWL A IMAGINARY 300?
this is just a good starting point, i know lots of bowlers that bring their arm up about 8 feet in the air, and average 220 plus, just do what feels comfortable, but always keep it straight.

@gixxergarry Which is why they have a video called "Match Your Body Angle to Your Shot"
They are USBC certified gold coaches for a reason. They know pretty much everything about the physical game.

Im sorry, my experience with bowling is, watch the pro's in real life. watch alot of tourneys, see there lines and hooks, and then your done.
Forget all that, stand exactly here, and this and that.
