  • good modeling lousy music LOOSE IT!!!!!!!

  • point taken,( and of course its O not ho). excellent!

  • nice trains ,that musics WRONG!

  • @bluedoris88 yeah, but if you read the description, this was taken at our Christmas party. Hence the reason why there is Christmas music.

  • Love thengine-mounted video camera!

  • ohhh well, I guess this is not a child's game.... very nice!!!

  • The Bessemer units are actually helpers. I put in that track when I was a member. We had trouble with some trains making the grade up through the center of the layout so I installed the switch and spur. If a train stalls on the hill, just open the switch and when the points swing over the helpers will start up. Just feather the throttle to tie on gently to the caboose then shove the train up the hill. Reverse the block polarity for the engines to return to the helper track.

  • Oh wow! I never knew that!

  • There is 2 rail O scale layouts it's not only 3rail O anymore the guys in the hobby who like to keep things to Scale use 2 Rail so it looks more realistic these are O gauge/ Scale Trains you see in this video HO is about half the size of these I'm a Highrailer and I can tell you there O Scale. nice layout video I had a blast watching thank you for sharing

  • instead of seasonal music, railroads sounds would have been better!

  • Why does everyone seem to think that a person who helped build the layout doesn't know what scale it is? It's not worth arguing over. If OhioRails says it's O, then it probably is. There's no point in lying about the scale of a model train layout anyways.

  • Just look at the size of the people vs the layout and you can judge it is in O scale.

    Very nice setup too.

  • Thank you!

  • hey ohiorails. the guy who was fighting with you, he passed away from a car accident.

  • What?

  • o not ho scale, its on3 scale!

  • It is O scale.

  • EVEN ON YOUR WEBSITE IT EVEN SAYS THIS IS HO SCALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • keep scrolling down jerk.

  • well no you dont because it is definitely ho. not o. and btw my dad is one of the mangers at lionel. and he says this is ho. and again, not o

  • okay, please go to YMRA.org and look at the pictures proving that this is infact an O scale layout. I know what I am talking about. This is O SCALE.

  • well no you dont because it is definitely ho. no o.

  • but its way too small ho is smaller than o scale. o scale is much bigger and makes much more noise

  • Why are you arguing with me? I belong to the club. I know what I am talking about.

  • its ho because its too small and their is no third rail. lionel or 0 scale trains all have a third rail and are much bigger than these trains. and plus the track only has two rails not three

  • First off, you're wrong because I belong to the club. I know what I am talking about. And two, it's an expensive O scale. It only has two rails.

  • this in ho scale though

  • no it's not. It's O scale

  • love the 2 rail track-but if you put on a bunch cares your not gonna see the trackes anyway

if i ever get room and move to a biger place id havr the 3 trac in the middle covered with the trains and the 2 trac on the outside with ferrwer cars

  • love the 2 rail track-but if you put on a bunch cares your not gonna see the trackes anyway

  • NEXT TIME USE A STEADYCAM.

  • Why is it that some O scale track has three rails, but there is also two rail O scale track? What difference does it make?

  • @NuclearCentipede "O scale" track is 2 rail. "O Gauge" track is 3 rails. Lionel made the 3 rail track popular. 3 Rail was easier to wire than a 2 rail track system. Lionel and several other companies still make O gauge models that run on 3 rail track. The layout shown here is O scale. Think of it like an oversized HO layout. HO is 1:87 scale and O is 1:48 scale. There is one company, MTH, that makes trains that will run on 2 or 3 rail track fyi...

  • @jonnyspeed same with Atlas on the 2 and 3 rail

  • Very impressive. Come and see mine. I would love to visit their site.

  • Hey this is NMRA member Christopher hurt. The set above, is it yours and if not where is it located.

  • It's the Youngstown Model Railroad Association's O Gauge layout (just like the title) located in Austintown, Ohio.

  • That is a LOT of rolling stock.

  • yeah

  • How did you get away from using the third rail for your trains? Do they have to be certain brand or the track a certain brand?I am looking to start a polar express layout for my son and I like the realstic look of two rail.

  • im not sure

  • @vettebecker See my post below. There is much more variety available in 3 rail O gauge than 2 rail O. You can't beat 2 rail O for realism obviously, but it does take up a HUGE amount of room. This layout takes up the entire fisrt floor of an old church. 3 rail O gauge can fit a much smaller space. I believe Lionel has the marketing rights for the Polar Express so you will want to start looking there.

  • wasnt it featured in O Gauge RailRoader

  • Nice to see O-gauge without that stupid third rail.....beautiful layout

  • yeah, thanks

  • Why can't I have a switchtower to run my layout from? :P

  • haha idk

  • is all of it conventinal transformer powered?

  • I think, not sure. I don't run the O gauge.

  • how big is this thing? it looks huge and sweet!

  • Im not sure, and believe it or not, but this is a 1 track main-line.

  • um thats dane-gor-is.lol. really thats how a crsh happens.

  • hahaha

  • sweet video!

  • Thanks

  • Awesome!

  • Thanks
