  • This has to be one of the most forgetful failed shows ever, and yet I always have remembered that theme song a little

  • @dogeymon83 Yep, I never forgot it as well. Its a terrible show and deservedly got cancelled, but that theme has always held a small place in my brain.

  • I don't think I remember seeing this. Great concept!

  • Wasn't there a scene where the father wondered if he should buy a house or a condom?? I remember how they use to integrate clips from tv classics into the storyline. This was a cute show. didn't realize it was Julie Benz from Angel and No Ordinary Family.

  • I loved this show my 11 year old self watched it anytime itwas on.

  • I remember watching this a few times on TGIF with my friend Paul. It was the last show on the lineup at 9:30pm, and to us, it was like we were staying up late! It didn't last very long though, only mabye 5 episodes. By the fall it was gone. It seemed more like a "filler" series for that spot on TGIF, if anything...

  • It's a shame that this show didn't last any longer than it did. Even today, I think the concept is quite brilliant.

  • Imagine if they had done a show with Julie Benz (the daughter of this show), Christina Applegate (Married With Children) and Nikki Cox (Unhappily Ever After).

As a teen in the 90's I would've been quite happy.

  • Now the daughter is the mom on "No Ordinary Family". I think she's the only one from this show who still has an acting career.

Thinking about this show, it's like a combination of the movies "Pleasentville" and "The Brady Bunch Movie" - although the show predates them both.

  • @Billinois78 Not so, the actress who played the mother done shows for Broadway, and the father has done some acting here & there.

  • Oh CRAP! Just watching that it seems like it was only yesterday, and it seems like the past 20 years just melted away!

  • man. i miss these days when people were actually creative. man if people could go back to the nineties style of living. depression would be at an all time low.

  • Hey sweetness - I took the night off work. Dusty & Tuxey got their teeth cleaned today. I just picked them up & both are wobbly. I missed you so much with going to the store for me & my mom both, so it took longer.

  • The little punk kid was considered bad ass in the early 90's. Now he'd be considered gay. Very gay.

  • I remember this show. I THINK it may have been pulled because it was a little bit TOO far out of left field even for a sit com. :)

  • classic lol, I rmember this was on TV around the time I was playing Donkey Kong Country on SNES

  • I miss this show

  • I loved this show... no one ever knows what im talking about

  • Wow, Julie Benz always looks like a goddess, but here... WOW! I totally forgot about this show, ha.

  • Forgot all about this one. I know it was summer-1991 for sure, an I think it was a "TGIF" show before going to Nick at Nite...

  • i havent been this excited since my aids test came back negative

  • I remember this show. I was just thinking about it.

  • I remember it airing on Nick in it's original run. Show was produced around 1991. This was when the late 50s/early 60s retro thing was popular, and Nick running it in rerun only a few days after its original airing on ABC network. Nick-at-Night was showing mostly 1950s/60s sitcoms like "My Three Sons", "Donna Reed Show", "Dennis The Mennis", "Dobie Gillis" in 1990-1992 era to name a few at the time so this was sort of a "fit-in" to their 1950s retro feeling rerun syndicating shows.

  • I remember this cheesy show. I think the only thing I enjoyed about it was the theme song. (laughing)

  • wow Julie Benz befor Buffy/Angle

  • does anyone have this episode of this show with Jim nabors?

  • Where can I watch any of the episodes?

  • if anybody has that episode of welcome freshmen with howie or if they can find him in cop and a half i'd love to see it i found him in parenthoood loved it. thanks

  • i have no idea i tried and got nothing i waatched the pilot on nick a few yrs ago on a retro special called we knew them when and that show was on there he was only in the orginal pilot but it was recast with someone else but he was hysterical yhou know aj also howie was in welcome freshmen original pilot but that was recast never saw it but i know it rocked it is howie after all.

  • I loved this show! Wish I could find it on DVD! ^_^

  • it was better with aj

  • what do you type in to see the one with aj

  • God that looks fantastic. Any chance of a DVD??

  • Does anyone else recall this show being on one of the major networks before they moved it on over to Nick at Nite? The ratings were slipping, so they thought it would do a little better on Nick at Nite where original shows like this had lived on even though Hi Honey I'm Home was a modern day sitcom with that classic feel. I actually loved this show, and I was so pissed that it got hauled on over to cable cause we didn't have cable when I was a kid. Ohhhhhhhhhhh I was pissed!

  • It was produced as part of a deal between ABC and Nick at Nite. :At first it aired on both networks, but then ABC canceled it, and then it aired exclusively on Nick at Nite.

  • @SECgatorFAN

wasn't it on ABC fir a really short period of time?

  • Yeah, I knew it was, but I was unsure of the network. Man, I've not seen this in forever, and I think they aired it around 1990. I suppose you'll never see it in box set format though. If the ratings sucked so bad then I imagine they won't waste their time with a show that last half a season. They probally think it wouldn't sell, and more money would be sunk into the actual production of the format. Heres another great show. Ever remember Tales of the Golden Monkey in the early eighties?

  • I hope this show comes back

  • I still remember this show... one joke that stuck in my mind was when the father was talking to another neighbor telling him, "It's a nice house but we're thinking of investing in a couple of condoms."

And the neighbor looked at him strangely and replied, "I think you mean condominiums."

  • The Theme by Rupert Holmes

    a very under rated talent

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • I used to love this show! : D

  • OMG-OMG-OMG-OMG!!!! :-D

  • i used to love this show. thanks for the post!

  • is this show available on dvd?

  • i never realized that was Julie Benz, and i used to watch Hi Honey I'm Home back when it was orignally on, and then i'm a huuuuuuuuuuuuge Buffy Angel fan, but didn't remember that it was the same girl. she was on my mind lately too cuz i just started watching first season of Dexter.

  • 0:12 - 0:14 - Wow, big shock for being an old Buffy/Angel fan. I used to have it bad for her, too, but forgot all about the show 'til now.

  • I live in orlando & I went to a few tappings

  • Thirteen episodes were produced, 'JC'; six for the summer of '91 on Nickelodeon [and ABC], and seven more in the spring of '92.

  • lol^^

  • Oh my God, thank you so much for posting. This was quality TV before Nickelodeon became consumed by ADD tweens.

  • A fine series, much underestimated.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • LOL! I remember this

  • WOW! Thanx I though I was the ONLY person that remembers this show!!

  • I remember this one too

  • I forgot all about it 'til now.
