I really like it. I'm doing a Project on the same thing. I saw the comments and showed it to my teacher. She said it was an A- Project. She was very impressed.
What is evolution-ism? Evolution-ism continued to grow in scientific circles throughout the remainder of the century? How about The theory of evolution continued to gain acceptance throughout the remainder of the 19th century? What is an evolutionist? The southern states were ardent fundamentalists? How can a state be a fundamentalist? How about powerful forces in certain states...
Only 2:02 into it and already I would have given you an F. Sorry. This isn't good 11th grade work.
The Cambrian Explosion causes extreme difficulty for the evolutionary theory. As Darwin himself admitted on page 282 of "The Origin of Species":
The abrupt manner in which whole groups of species suddenly appear in certain formations, has been urged by several paleontologists ... as a fatal objection to the belief in the transmutation of species of species. If numerous species, belonging to the same genera or families, have really started into life at once...
"Debating creationists on the topic of evolution is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon — it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory." -Scott D. Weitzenhoffer
The Tennessee law was passed because a prominent geneticist said that the biologists had no scientific explanation for biological change and because of the "thrill killing" of a boy by two young Darwinists in Chicago. The full story appears in "The Great Scopes Scam" chapter of "The End of Darwinism."
Scopes never taught evolution, but he persuaded students to say that he did. Scopes himself truthfully pleaded innocent and refused to testify. This fradulent trial was a publicity stunt cooked up by business interests.
Yes it is a theory, just like plate techtonics, the atomic theory, and the germ theory. A theory is hypothesis that is supported by scientific evidence. You are using the term theory incorrectly, in place of hypothesis.
@ThePatriotDragon so is creationism but there is more evidence behind Evolution than creationism. Also when god said he create the universe in 7 days, how long is a day?
@philster61 But does the bible say 24 hours? Scientists say it's 23 hours and 53 min for the earth to make a full rotation which is why we have leap year, but hours, minutes, and seconds didn't start until the Mesopotamians. So how do you know that it's 24 hours? And if you say 24 hours, then explain how if god created the sun and stars, and a lot of stars are bigger than ours, then how are there still stars being formed today? Is god still creating worlds?
@dclaver2 There is no such thing as "God creating worlds" in the first place. We know the process involved in creation of worlds and stars and its nothing to do with a divine being. Stars are being formed today due to the gravitational process. It takes millions of years for a star to form
And 24 hours is according to the Gregorian calender That is the calendar that we use today.
William Jenning Bryan, my hero, feared that Darwinism would result in a "survival of the fittest" style of politics, and spawn monsters. This, indeed, happened with Nazism and Communism. Darwinism produced Hitlerism and Maoism. This was Bryan's concern. He was right.
Wow...so many holes in this one it is like swiss cheese. Darwin never used the term survival of the fittest, and just because his (enlightening and correct) observations were twisted by others, does not make him an evil person. You could put your twist on Jesus...there have been many people who have twisted his words and used it for their own benefit. Then again, most Christians view the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition as being a necessity for the growth of their religion...nice.
