These sold for around 35,000 in 2000. The quality control that Infiniti has is second to none. As a retired automotive worker I'll tell you this, Japan just absolutely kicked the rest of the worlds ass building cars. Benz,BMW included. Theres one thing that the Japanese have that makes everything they make really good quality. Pride! Its what made the U.S. what it was and we've lost that somewere along the line. 25 yrs ago everyone in the U.S. assembly plants were very proud, not true now.
My uncle has a 2002,which he brought in 2005 with 80,000 miles on it. But did have to get a new transmission in 2008, cuz he does drive it a lot and when I talked to him last year about his I35 he says its a great car and he had 150,000 miles on it.
hah my man.. the econ button doesnt allow outside air in.. its deactivates the air conditioner so u still get good feul economy while heating.. because when auto is selected both the AC and heat are engaged... so the button is only effective if you turn the heater to 75 or above. its actually bad for the car if you hit econ and leave it below that.. just a frienly headsup homie
my tape player is messed up. when ever i put in a tape it will only play out of the front left speaker. and the balance on the car is right.it only happens with tapes . the radio plays out of all the speakers. anyone know what could be wrong
I have one of these, though not the Touring version, with just over 130,000 miles. Still runs beautifully. (Spec was 227 hp on the I30, 222 on the Maxima; the difference was in the trick muffler.) And from what I've been able to determine, the turning circle is about two feet larger with the Touring package, presumably due to the bigger tires (225/50R17 instead of 215/55R16).
I took it on a 4000-mile road trip in '07, and got 28 mpg.
@windowphobe Ya I love it. I had it for a few days a couple weeks ago to detail it and do some maintenance on it and it drives and cleans up very nice. I absolutely love this car.
@Veyronp87 it may be similar but its a good format that saabkyle04 uses, easy to understand. jason12001style is similar true, but no harm there. saabkyle04 may not have been the first to use that style either, and not the last to use a good simple style of car reviewing video. There aren't many original ways to review a car, unless your a comedian while reviewing, oh wait that's right top gear does that. See my point? Or would u rather him make a video like a car salesman trying to sell the car?
What you have there is an engineering piece of gold, one of the last true Japanese engines the 3.0L VQ30DE V6, The I30 was redesigned for 2000 along with the Nissan Maxima (and if you didn't know i30 is a mechanical twin to the Maxima other than transmission) Engine power was up to 227 hp (2hp more than the maxima to be exact), And the I35 has 255 hp not 265, I myself have a 2000 I30t and lave tuned it to push 260hp. Over all great car with lots of potential, your great grandma liked em fast.
@RussianVQ30 Didnt notice that typo, i meant 255hp* And yeah VQ engines are ok, even though they burn oil like no tomorrow, i myself drive an 04 altima 3.5SE, great car, lots of torque but im burning oil..might be my last Nissan for a while, until they can really make quality cars like before..tired of these shortcuts, the new maxima doesnt even appease me anymore. Going back to Acura for my next car. (loved my legend!)
