That's the whole point of the beach. St. Maarten has like 30 other beaches...Plus St. Maarten is best spot in Caribbean, because you don't have to worry about dying. No black people, no poor people = No muggers.

Yes you're right, it's very silly to stand right behind them like this - even if the jet blast doesn't hurt you, you're likely to have your eyes sandblasted. And what will happen is someone will get badly hurt and the whole beach will be closed.
