  • 3 tactical discussion points,

why would the kamikaze plains fly in the angle of the ships guns and not a couple of feet from the sea, second why the fuck did the japenese waste their mighty warship with 2500 man on board, they should have stripped the boat for guns and use the sailors for defense, finally they should have never let the americans to take foothold on the beaches, they had 100.000 man. wtf

  • Though I really can't blame the Japanese for being so pissed off. The level of overkill the US used in that war, is just horrific, with the Atomic bombs and incendiaries.

  • Mutilating genitals, defecating on them and killing them. And to think, nowadays the world is all in a huff about the marine's urinating on already dead taliban. That is really really tame compared to what happened in WWII, Vietnam and practically all previous wars of history.

  • man the japanese are ruthless how can they do such horrible stuff!? thats just not human all he wanted was some cabbage! those bastards!!

  • "OH C'MON I JUST WANT SOME GODDAMN CABBAGES!

  • did he say iwo jima or is it my imagination?

  • Wooaaa! Did that guy at scene 0:20 - 0:24 ran away safely after throwing that explosive or did he get caught in the explosion?

  • how would it have surrendered? what nonsense

  • Hollywood should make another movie out of this after the battle of Iwo Jima

  • @Marinetr Japan already has a movie on this battle.

  • @TheRapper10000 thank

  • @TheRapper10000 sir whats the title of the movie?

  • @chesterdgreat91 OKINAWA.

  • I would like to know if the Marines could have done a battle of the crater(from the US Civil War) on the Japanese in this battlefield maybe it might give a little shock and aw to the Japanese soliders.

  • Glad to see the Navy were able to redeem themselves at Okinawa after deserting the Marines at Guadalcanal.

  • @pucksterz12 The Navy redeemed itself at Guadalcanal. Yes, they did leave the Marines and they got their ass kicked a few times, but they came back and they kept coming back. Keep in mind those were dark days in the Pacific and with the heavy fleet still dead in PH, the protection of assets became vital.

The Marines have never faulted the Navy for this either.

    Semper Fi !

  • man those japanese war criminals were animals: cut marines genitals off, defecated on them and then killed them? awful

  • @sarnath66f every war has war criminals on both sides

  • @thebiest100 All sides were criminal in world war II some more than others, lesser evil vs evil.

  • @Kelthuzad126 Research the Rape of Nanking, Japanese cannibalism on New Guinea and Chi Chi Jima,as well as in China, Unit 731 and the countless Japanese soldiers and civilians that were thrown foolishly into U.S. gun barrels. Their commanders should have gotten more than 25 years in prison.

Okay, now what crimes did the U.S. commit in the Pacific? World War 2 for that manner?

  • @owlandtree crimes enough on both sides, did you ever heard of the german city of dresden, there were no military targets, they bombed the place with firebombs and murdered an entire city (25000 innocent people). The same as the belgium town mortsel, bombed the wrong target, killed more then 1000 people, and the majority were children who were at school. THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WAR. And for the record, did you know of the existance of the Morgenthauplan? LOOK THAT UP

  • @sarnath66f one of the older men where I worked was in the Pacific, I can't remember where he was, this was before all the ww2 tv shows. Plus I was younger and well you know anyway he brought in a photo album for us to look at, he had pics of him and buddies, posing with human skulls, stacked like pyramids they were real, horrible, I mean 100s of them. But with your comment I understand why they did it. I had just never seen anything like that before. ugggh

  • @sarnath66f On Chi Chi Jima they would cannibalize U.S. airmen shot down on the island. Sometimes they would leave the prisoners alive in a ditch, cutting off pieces over time. They kept the prisoners alive so that their meat wouldn't spoil. No lie; read "Flyboys" by James Bradley...or google.

  • I wonder why they didn't just cordon off the South of the island and just leave the defenders there to run out of ammunition and food?

  • @davidrodgersNJ they could have done that with every island too

  • @davidrodgersNJ Because the Japanese had large amounts of artillery still in the south and could really harass the airfields that were captured and devastate the "cordon" of troops. You just can't leave a 60,000 man army unattended with the stocks of food and ammo that they had.

  • Thanks for the upload dude

  • Wow, Sam Ukrop?! I have met this man several times during my life. He and his family used to own a chain of grocery stores in Richmond, Virginia, and he was often at the stores greeting people. He always seemed like a very nice man, a real Virginia gentleman, and it was surprising to see him pop up in this video. Thanks for your service, Sam...

  • Every japanese counter offensive seems like it was complete folly and utter failure. In all these documentaries.

  • blame that piece of trash coward monkey Mahatma gandhi !!

  • FTW

  • barns wallis? who's country originated it?

  • The UK. Worked excellently against the U Boat pens. The bomb reached the speed of sound on the way down. The B-29's would've had to have their bomb bays adapted.

  • Wonder if they could have or actually tried using some of Barns Wallis's massive "earthquake" bombs. Those 5 ton hardened steel cased bombs that can penetrate down through almost 30 feet of soil... they might have been very effective against a tunnel network like this.

I'm pretty sure that tactic was tried in Korea, though considering wartime secrecy, there is no guarantee an American commander in the Pacific would know of a British secret weapon on the other side of the world.

  • It would have helped.

  • @Treblaine Having read quit a bit about the Tall Boy bomb, I can assure you that it would have destroyed Japanese bunkers on Okinawa completely. The Americans should definitely have used Tall Boy in the Pacific Campaigne, but I think politics and inter-ally prestige/rivalry got in the way

  • @korsager Another thing that has occurred to me since, Tall Boy bombs need to be dropped from specially modified aircraft that were in limited supply in the European theatre. These aircraft may have been impractical to operate over the vast distances of the Pacific War and of course would need a British supply train when Britain's main presence was far to the west in Burma.

  • @Treblaine I think you are right, but none the less the trouble for the Americans in transporting the Tall Boys to their target, would have been worth effort.. They could have saved many American lives

  • @korsager Would it? It would have taken time to get those planes and infrastructure in place to drop tallboy/grandslam bombs, time that would have put extra strain on US forces who had 16'000-mile long supply lines and favour the Japanese to formulate better defences.

Also I think there was a focus to keep the limited expertise on Deep-penetrating bombs in Europe as Germany had far more extensive hard defences. Germany may have capitulated by May but it would have still taken long.
