  • not only the Great Mr Winwood is a jack of all trades in music (plays everything, sings like a God, composes etc) but is also the coolest womanizer :-)

  • take chakas voice out of this song , it becomes mediocre , flat...over 1700 comments and she gets very little credit..together they're great

  • yea she didnt get enough credit, but i disagree w/the song bein mdeocre w/o her. this iz Steve Winwood we talkn about, hez not a copycat, hez natural, great & unique. not fake like justin timber'fake', & otherz

  • i refer to this one song being mediocre without chaka ! steve is awesome on his own...timberfake..haha...

  • o yea, lets call it how it iz; basically he carbon copied Michael Jackson. other than that, hed b cool

  • S-E-X-Y!!! Nothing but the best from Steve Winwood!!! I miss the 80's music!!!

  • This guy is smokin talented from playin with Hendrix to Clapton. He is a bad ass guitarist and piano player to boot!

  • Oh shit, this was Steve Winwood?

Man, that throws me through a loop.

  • the song is what I care about...the video is just whatever

    A classic jam

  • Chaka Khan is the only real woman on this video. The rest are like wind up dolls.

  • I was in like 6th grade when this came out (ouch). But I still totally dig it. And I give big props for Steve showing love to all the girls with curls out there. I'm one of them and I love it!

  • i love how he is trying to dance too but just swinging his arms around lol

  • hes a white guy from birmingham...thats as close to dancing as they get.

  • I absolutely LOVE Steve Winwood, but that is entirely true.

  • winwood has brought me a higher love and so have you LISA the smelly

  • Love the song but the video is an exact rip off from Duran Duran's "Notorious" Video...(Except the Chaka Khan part...)

  • I hate being old enough to know this stuff. You have them reversed I thinki. Higher love was 80's (85, 86 somewhere in there). Notorious was early 90's.

Getting my walker now -GET OFF MY LAWN!! ;)

  • always loved this little tune... among several... thank you Mr. Winwood! please... more... :)

  • Spinosaurus lol

  • songs from the 1980's were so much better than what's out today

  • good music is good music.

  • this is a gift for you coach dickandballs

  • always sunny :)

  • theres a gift for you bumble bee.

  • Why don't we up the suppliments which we know works and eliminate working out which we know blows.

  • his voice is really powerful! This, which is the original is also the best, alot of people have re-done this song, but this is the besttttt!

  • chaka khan should get most of the credit for this song

  • Higher Love from the UK!

  • this song is just so crazy awesome you cant help but move when you hear it

  • Damn, it's like Rick Astley! I heard this song for years and thought he was a black guy. Can't believe it.

  • The man just has one of THOSE voices. Those that could sing almost anything because the voice is so smooth and pure.

  • i love this song....gets me dancing n smilng...:))

  • After all these years, I still like this song. I can't believe I thought he was saying "Bring me a pie of love" when I was a kid.

  • lol we were on a trip in the 80's dance and joy

    no problem :)

  • pie of love lol

  • why did he have to do this style of music?

i prefer what he did in BLIND FAITH

  • I played this CD out in the 80's, the whole thing was good!

  • I think both Steve and Nick did a great job.

I prefer Nick's version 'cause I prefer his voice, but I also love this.

  • Of course you gonna support the teenie, look at your username lol

I heard the "cover" and nearly threw up. I came back to this to cleanse my soul. This version has more feeling and passion to it anyways.

  • classic, this is when mus

  • now this is music

  • i would buy some steve's music 'cause i have all less this great cool song.

    Saludos Loreto-Peru

  • Good stuff!

  • i dont like the nick jonas one for some reason sorry.... this is by far better

  • great singer to copy when learning to sing

  • This is the only worthy version of this song!! It's the original...and as usual, always the best version. No and's, if's, or but's about that!!

  • Sorry but ,this is the best version ever!! that jonas kid was ok but no where close to Steve

  • this guy can sing, no joke....

  • I envy Steve!!!!! To have Ms. Khan dancing with you, OH LORD!!!!!! She is SOOO FINE!!!!

  • Great song

  • Back then videos were better because they didnt flicker from scene to scene like now dayz

  • THE WOOD IS THE MAN!!!!!!!! :D

  • Sorry, Steve sings this song the best over everyone else that has recorded it!!!

  • pretty good song mate!

  • it seems like back then they didnt have a lot of "featuring" credits...an example would be Chaka Khans I Feel for You...Melle Mell raps but it doesnt say Chaka Khan feat. Melle Mell..could have probably sold another million if it was "feat. Chaka Khan"

  • Who is the bitch here? Wow where is the respect?

  • if i dont respect my mother i whot respect this shit

  • FYI you are the bitch ha Is a Win Lose :P

  • You should be beaten, shitkicked, stabbed, immolated, shot, and thrown in a well to rot.

  • He has a black man voice.

  • The main person he's compared to is Ray Charles

  • To Wildbore48

Looks like they threw the wrong bit away when you were born! the PLACENTA!

  • to wildbore 48: Those who can, do - those who can't, criticize. What, exactly is your great contribution? If Winwood is a moron, that would make you a mongoloid idiot cubed. Have a wonderful day f*ckw*d.

  • The sound of those who have nothing of value to present or offer to the world . . .

can do no more than complain about those who do add value to our lives.

  • My previous comment is to the wildbore. I hope life finds you well. All of us deserve respect, even you.

  • yeh do us a favour and jump off a fucking balcony, I wont regret if u do fuckwit

  • gayyy

  • this gets better every tim i hear it

  • He's not dead.

  • Ah, I miss the days when men actually cared what they looked like.

  • Steve Winwood isn't dead! He and Clapton released a well-received live album from MSG earlier this year!!!!

  • i seen them together on a PBS special a couple weeks ago, it was great!

  • i can imaging!

  • Truly an inspirational song that takes me back to 1986 and that whirlwind summer in my life. What great days they were when we met in the pub and this was always on the jukebox.

  • this song would make you think that... Check out his early shit with Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith.. he USED to rule... and i'm sure he has outgrown this 80's mall mix garbage now. Great voice.

  • oh yeah!

  • This song just makes me happy. I used to not like it, when I was a kid in the 80's.

  • Haha.

Ain't this tune out in ages.

Ste's nearlly the 1 million mark haha.................

Wonderful song. Steve Winwood's music is great. :)

  • He's got a great voice! Is this song about Religion? Faith?

He reminds me of an ex boss of mine!!

  • very best in 80 is!!!!!

  • I love this song! I am in choraliers, and singing/dancing group, and we are singing it this year!!

  • When I was a teen hearing this for the first time on the radio in 1986-I was blown away by his talent. Then later that day "Gimmie Some Lovin'" (with Spencer Davis Group from 20 years before then) came on a different radio station. Then, I somehow made the voice connection-confirmed it and thought this man is really a genius musician! I discovered other work too with Traffic, Blind Faith, etc. Steve is the best ever.

  • Yes, he has a very amazing voice and he was really young in the Spencer Davis days, like 15!

  • So powerful song!It brings back the memories of my university days! Thanks for posting it!

  • I remember steve from "welcome to the canteen" with jim capaldi and dave mason. And Traffic..."low spark of high heeled boys". He just gets better. Chaka too.....

  • a legendary song by a legendary artist. Brings memories back. This song gives a great uplifting feeling like you want to be on top of the sears tower with your girlfriend. The hell with nick jonas's version of this song... he is a disgrace to this wonderful song.

  • Gr8 song !! Remember it well in the charts. The whole album was a smash !!

  • Never knew that was Chaka on back-up

  • i think its amazing that steve went to the school im going to. and that he has acheived this much. Good on you steve!

  • Comment removed

  • I never saw Steve so comfortable on stage!! he was moving with Chaka!! He is always behind the organ

  • 0:00-1:49 suck but 1:50 makes it all worth it....

  • if your referring to the chorus it first comes in at 0:50 seconds

  • Fresh song to my ears!

  • Great music .....

  • Once again,CLASSIC Gold!

  • totally a great song...thank you...5*****

  • I could anyone those hair-do's in about 30 seconds. I call'em those do's messy as hell. And I grew-up during that time frame.

Chaka, damn, I could hers in 5 seconds. Those dancers in the eighties were some sexy little tarts. I was in love those dancers.

  • you can compare steve winwoods style of music with michael mcdonald, peter gabriel, phil collins and many others!

  • i love when they play this song during a cycling class in It's Always Sunny in Philadelpia

  • You just got dogged bro.

  • I tried so hard to get my hair to look like the dark-haired girl that S. Winwood is kissing. I have typical Nordic hair...blonde, baby fine, and straight as can be. Needless to say, it was an exercise in futility, I looked ridiculous, and nearly killed my hair in the process. LOL. Good times, the 80s.

  • why u wanna look like what u r not. Be proud of who u r and be u! cos everyone else is taken!!

  • Think his singing is always good. For you Bee Charmer.

  • hi michael...thank you very much....yes i like this....

  • This came out when I was a kid. I heard it then and liked it, but just got reintroduced to it again when I heard it on the plane on a flight I took. Now this song reminds me of my childhood and my trip. Love it!

  • fantastic i was 19 yrs old early clubbing days now with children of my own x3 lol take me back.. the music the hair the girls good times ,,,, N.igel .G.. sutton coldfield.. b.ham

  • u gotta be jokin, who cares about a fake ass version over the real thing, thats just ludicrous. no one cares about mimic artist.

  • lol

  • This is one great song. After I heard it the first time I had to send steve a "bro Card."

  • I was 18 years old when this song came out and just fell in LOVE w/it and I'm still in love with 2e yrs, later. The music of 2009 as compared to the mid 80's just sucks. People like Steve Winwood, the Doobies, Fleetwood Mac, Bill Champlin(especially Bill) need to educate the youngins on what a piano, an accoustic guitar and real "living" horn sections are about instead of the drum machines and computerized schictt of today!! Enough ssaid!!

  • This is the second song I heard from Stevie Winwood. The first one was While You See A Chance form the album Arc of A Diver. I was in college during that time & I love listening to his music back then. The ever versatile Ms. Chaka Khan was backing him up on this song. Bring me a Higher Love!
