I suppose SNK was aiming for something really nasty here given that they actually refill your life bars this time, but everybody keeps talking about some easy ways you can beat the Orochi. I've heard some people on TV tropes say he would be the hardest boss if it weren't for a weak AI, that for some reason kept using that move where appears to freeze himself.
Couldn't you have split this into two videos rather than skip most of the fight with the Orochi Team?
@DukeofColumbia Only Leaona and Iori have the "riot of blood", Yashiro, Chris and Shermie have orochi posetion which is not the same as leona or iori!
@arkan5000 Yamazaki is one of the Heavenly God (Dark), but his sheer will power prevented the riot of blood. He doesnt care of the Orochi blood as well. Though he is unconsciously using the Orochi power.
Now there's something that it's itching me, which version of KOF '97 is this? Why there's no Rhythmic Hallucination in the New Face team battle and instead we have the last part of Origin of Mind (Orochi theme) in AST? RH was a track that made this battle more thrilling!
orochi IS unstoppable - put it on lvl 8 and try beating him WITHOUT playing like a noob and using infi bars - now tell me again - why is he the final boss? ;)
Gosh! Orochi it's one of the easiest KOF bosses ever! First of all, as soon the round begins, walk towards him and grab him, yes, it's almost sure you'll get him first. Afterwards, rush towards him and hit him with a meaty combo as soon he stands up, most of the time he'll eat it. If he blocks it, do your string then wait until he launches his black fireball, run, roll and give him a set meal of combos. Really, he's incredibly easy even in Lv 8. And no, you don't need infinite bars either.

Magaki was ridiculous due to the improved, spamming AI.
Considering KoF97 was actually released on 1997 (13 years before), Orochi does not have enhanced attack/defense, and the AI is primitive. If they remake an Orochi with an improved AI, I'm sure he'll be almost unbeatable.
For real though you cant really say king of fighters beats street fighter without considering that the king of fighters woulndt even exist if it wasnt for street fighter

Akuma was born. And then in street fighter alpha he gets a major upgrade and people couldnt believe it! Shin Akuma was born.
Why not? Art of Fighting came quite early in the late 80s. Then Fatal Fury. Then KoF. You know all those MvC, and all those games that involve dream meatches?? KoF 98' started it. SF's Super and Ultra Comboes? Notice the DM skills that KoF always has? Even then, Super Comboes are merely normal attack put into a combo attack or either a souped up special attack. Each DMs are unique.
ive been at alot of arcades and most of japanese play these types of kof's and these are the characters they used the most. they are heck badass showing their skillz. its insane
Wow this boss battle was pretty hard but there are way more difficult KOF bosses out there.

and the jump trick in the vid IS a glitch - prompts orochi to attack, thus exploitation of a glitch isn't fighting him evenly ;)
