I grew up in this era and took a lot of heat for liking this. The rockers rejected Xanadu because of the ties to "disco" . There really isnt any such thing as "disco" music . Music of a type was used in disco dancing but no such thing as "Disco" music . The music already exsisted and was applied to "Disco dancing". Xanadu is a very well done classic broadway musical filmed for the movies . The rocker crowd simply isnt sophisticated enough to realize this . Lack of vision on their part .
