I like to take the back even if there is mild struggle to get it. However, against a spastic and busy opponent, the bump definitely scores the saying "position before submission"
I bought eddie bravo's Cd and have effectively used the rubber guard. However I found it difficult to apply to the last person I rolled with because he have a huge shoulder. What should I do with it? any suggestions?
i know i am not a blackbelt in jiu jitsu but wouldent it be a better idea to go for a crucifix? rather than give them a bunch of open space, and also they can land on their side which makes it easy for them to snag your leg. so my question is would this be a better thing to do rather than the crucifix?
if his turtle position is tight u wont get ur leg in to do the cruzifix.i had this few weex ago at a tournament with a judo black belt his turtle was almost perfect but i got him and rolled him to get the rear.bing!
I spent almost about 4 minutes trying to get a good position on my MMA instructor (I'm new to MMA) while he was on the turtle position- and I failed to do so. Now that I watched this video, I feel confident that I'll put him on his back and achieve the north-south! THANKS!!!
Nice one! It´s a good idea to use a shoulder shrug on his hip because it creates quite some movement in him while you stay glued to his upper body. Makes defending his getting into guard easier.
What sumbission would you recommend in that position?

There's actually a neat transition to the twister from here, yes?

Wouldn't a few good knees to the side from this position work best? Kinda like George St.Piere in the St.Piere Serra fight?

um...not in a jiu jitsu match...this isn't mma ;-)

A good transition off of this would be to take the D'arce choke immediatly after the sweep.

Much thanks. Was just struggling with this exact situation. Looks to be the perfect solution.

How would you do the bump if the guy in turtle sprawld his legs?

Then you might transition to the back. Since grappling (fighting) is fluid, you'll need to adapt to the changing circumstances.

The bump, a basic positional movement when attacking the turtle. While very simple, this is VERY effective.
