  • Disturbing Choreography ---.Three Las Vegas showgirls in skimpy stage costumes fixing breakfast on three different stoves while gyrating.

  • What is the purpose of the cartwheeling man. LOL! I love old videos.

  • Awesome song!

  • 1`:40 sec.

  • I believe that there are many, mostly conservatives, who would LOVE for those good old days to return. Almost makes me puke.

  • @MtFrederick47 Fred, housewife is an honorable profession. This world would be much better off if more parents spent time at home with their children. I am a conservative who believes in freedom. If a woman wants to work, fine, but many want to stay at home. They should not be castigated by leftwing loonytunes for it.

  • @bobanddottie2 I tend to agree. The decision for the wife to stay at home should be between the husband and the wife, not the govt. As long as she has a means of transportation to run errands.

  • I find it a hilarious coincidence that her last name is "Miller"

  • 1:47 that guy looks like Mr. Sulu... o_O

  • Absolut schrill

  • ummm has anyone noticed how absolutely effed up this is? i really hope this isn't what my life should/will amount to as a lady...

  • @caity805 You do realize this is from a time when women were expected to be like that, don't you?

  • @CelticGoddess111 Isn't it sick? On one night he goes out with the boys and gets tight (drunk) and he comes home to her sexiness. . . and she can't wait to drop the kids off at his mom and dad's so she can go home to being his queen of the house. Four kids from one to four. . . pretty soon there'll be one more. . . racy for the time, woo-wooooo, she is PREGNANT! They make babies! The implication was heavy! This is why the women's movement exploded.

  • @DancingFalcons - Actually this was intended to be a tongue in cheek answer to Roger Miller's "King of the Road" and was not meant to reflect the norm of the day even then.

  • @caity805 LOL It depends on who you marry and what you are willing to tolerate.

  • i've always loved jody as a dj i played alot of her records

    frankie dee

    hershey, pa.

  • And the whole time I thought my parents were always watching Roger Miller when this jingle was playing downstairs. E gad. They were watching porn the whole time.

Whoa. But seriously. Is anyone sure it wasn't the other way around? That Miller didn't rip this song off for the melody?

  • This is a re-write ,lyrically, of Roger Miller's "King of The Road". hahahaha

  • @bandcouver Heads up, dude. Need you to confirm something here for me.

  • @bandcouver No , you gotta be kidding !

  • I'm not surprised the milkman's walking like that at 1:20

  • @ianasdfg ROTFL.

So *this* is why my parents always made sure I was in bed by 8:30.

  • wow shes such a hottie

  • She looks like Rizzo off of Grease..or maybe the other the way around?

  • I think the Queen of the House is at 1:50.

  • @zapatista3 It's funny, because he's a homosexual.

  • @zapatista3 hahahhahahaha good one my friend !!!!!

  • @zapatista3 LOLL good one ..:P

  • @zapatista3 ha ha ha ha . . .

  • @zapatista3 LMFAO!!!!!

  • Gotta love the pelvic thrust by that blond at 2:19.

  • @bitethedevil

    r u a guy or lez

  • @roses4able a man. And the way she's holding that handle thrusting that pelvic..

  • Jody is a Christian and sings Gospel now. You should go read her testimony on her web site. Great voice.

  • No thank you. I much prefer her this way.

  • there was an ice man

  • This video is really great, thanks Tuggle!

  • my moms name is jody j miller

  • Ooo baby, the (Asian) ice man cometh!

  • WOW

  • WOW!....An oldies video full of YUMMY MUMMIES! They were well sexy back in the day! :-)))

  • This was pretty much Jody's jab at Roger, she came out with this in 1966 when Roger's hit came in 1965.

  • my favourite song....

  • If this song represents your introduction to and only knowledge of Jody Miller, there are a number of other songs you need to hear to fully appreciate the talent she had. She could sing anything, and do it well (perhaps I should use the present tense, she's still going strong). Her version of "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me' (in Italian, no less) really is terrific.

  • The first time I heard this song it was on the Flip Wilson Show. Roger Miller sang, "King of the Road" and Wilson, in his Geraldine voice, sang, "Queen of the House".

This video looks like they pulled a practical joke on Miller. The dancing women are never in the same shot Ms. Miller!

  • Women, please watch this and take notes.

  • Can you just imagine that voice in Annie Get Your Gun or as Mamma Rose in Gypsy....or even Patsy in Always, Patsy Cline. WOW! This MAMMA CAN SANG (in Alabama, that beats singing any day of the week! Rhett

  • She has quite a soulful voice, too . . . you can tell she could probably really belt this tune out if given the chance.

  • I agree with mikeymars...I didn't really know of Jody Miller until I looked up this song. She has quite a strong voice and this song doesn't do it justice. She almost seems a little subdued in singing it. (Also, this is obviously a pre-feminism song! LOL)

  • Forgot htis one, love it. I remember it on the radio back in OZ growing up. Bloody great track..

  • i've never heard this one. i have heard king of the road though

  • 'Woodie Alert'!!!!

  • I am trying to find her singing He walks like a man on YT but no go. Any other links to it?

  • Sigh..poor Jodi - this Oklahoma chick really did have some serious talent, but when Capitol Records picked her up in '63 they had absolutely no clue on how to leverage it. With her country roots, if they'd let her loose in the studio with the right producer she probably could have kicked off the whole country rock thing years before the Eagles, and the rest would have been history. But noooo...instead, they gave her this sort of material....which led nowhere but the discount rack.. :(

  • You have to love the quick change Jody does at 2:27. Raise your hand if you wish your wife could change that fast.

  • this is my aunt !! she is my moms, dads, brothers, wife

  • Thank you for posting! I know Jody now, she plays Gospel music across the country and is as great as ever!

  • this song is a retort to king of the road by roger miller

  • I think you've answered the question I was going to ask, Roger Miller came first.

  • lol I was not speaking directly to myself or anyone lol just saying it so anyone who'd see the comment would find out and by the way was jody roger's sister or his wife ?

  • I know so little, other than she wasn't his mother...

  • Neither. As far as I know they weren't related.

  • Probably just someone with the same last name.

  • I don't think it's so much a "retort" because Roger Miller wrote this one too. He was always funny and winking to us.

  • Thanks for the fun video - lovely,

  • DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES should try this out next season!

  • This is looke 45 years old!

  • Jody Miller holds her own quite nicely as "Queen of the House." Small wonder with the Scopitone girls performing the household chores. No complaints here.

  • Housewives vs. French maids/Go go girls?? Weird, cool, very 60's. And enjoy the music, a Grammy winner in 1965 for Best Country Female Vocal for Jody !!

  • "But Sundays I'm mighty glad

I send the kids to his mum and dad

Its the day that makes me glad I'm

    Queen of the house"

    Ooh-- isn't she lucky. . . LOL This song is almost my life! I grew up expecting to become Sheena Easton's Modern Girl and I am Queen of the House! :}

  • Jody was born in 1941 so she is in her late 60's now. She left "pop" music to sing gospel. BUT OH MY GOD! This video is sooo campy!!! I sorta recall it but I was like 4 then...and I LOVED it!

  • God god, I just can't get over how kinky those dancing maids are.

  • wow dancing maids thats actually kinda kinky hehehe.

  • I tried to dl the song but to no luck avail :(

  • Who is she where is she from ?

  • I hope all the Jody Miller fans have checked out her ITALIAN version of "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me." It's yet another terrific performance. Imagine, before joining You Tube, this song here was the only Jody Miller recording I had ever heard. Pity.

  • Where can I find this?

  • DF, mitoplus76 posted it - "Jody Miller - io che non vivo (sanremo 1965)."

Apparently, it was Jody Miller's Italian performance of "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" which inspired Dusty Springfield to record the song in English.

  • It's beautiful-- thank you for telling us about this!

  • This was the first song I heard by Jody Miller and I have been a fan ever since.

    Thanks for this clip!

  • Great song, great video, and a great singer!

  • Jody miller is my cousin!!!!

  • Your cousin Jody did a great job with the song "Magic Town" (thunderbird1958 posted it). Have you checked it out?

  • I saw her in Branson 2 months ago. If that is her in this video , has she ever changed.

  • don't think that's her. she'd be older than that

  • If Molly Maid sent out women looking like the ones here, they'd make the kind of profits banks make.

  • If Molly Maid sent out women like this I'd have to find a second job for my wife to get her out of the house - and to pay for the maid service.

  • I bet she was really having sex w/ that paper boy & milkman when the man was out of the house. Really make her feel like a queen? -:)

  • I just gotta find this 45! thanks

  • Great song...thanks

  • This reminds me of the video for St. etienne's You're In A Bad Way.

  • sounds like me...great song.,

  • Jody Miller has an outstanding voice

  • Home of the Brave is even a stranger song. I love Jody Miller.

  • I havn't seen this Scopitone since the late 60's on a Scopitone somewhere on a trip from New York to Florida. Never thought I would ever see this again, brings back a lot of memories. Thanks so much for posting this and so many other Scopitones !

  • Scopitones always promise a surreal experiance.

  • Scopitones must have realized that pretty girls in risque clothes sells. MTV came many years later. I had never known this form of videos existed until now.

  • Although, I'm sure some feminist were having fits about them. And some of those women in that video don't look like what a housewife would look like, but more like one of Hefner's Playboy Bunnies.

  • Yeah well who care what the cranky feminists think.

  • One of my fave scopitones!!!!
