  • why was she carrying 2 cats ; and then 'throwing' the cat in THE "garage"

  • The music on these shows was so eerie that it scared the piss out of me when I was a kid.

  • Did everybody look so plain back then?

  • Used to love this show when I was a kid!

  • remember watching this when i was very young , on sunday evenings , was very scary back then ,

  • ive seen a UFO...in my pants.

  • love this show .glad it's on here

  • i have a coat like that guy

  • dude had some big nads to walk up to the thing

  • Remember the days when TV was entertaining, informative, and special? Yes, back then TV newsmen were expected to have gray hair.

  • The buggers dead, Jim. Told you to set phasers on stun!

  • Check out my video called instant manifestation. It shows how to manifest objects from thin air. Easy and proven. Better than sia baba. It is free.

  • That theme, leonard's wardrobe it all comes flooding back!

  • ohh my god! She had two cats. 2 cats! Now she only has one. I am so frightened. What happened to the other cat! Abducted? Probed? Space food? Wtf???? Happened to the 2nd cat. Jane tell us.!!! Just tell us!!! Or is the 2nd cat our new overlord? I need to know. If so don't piss that cat off. Buttons will have vengeance for your defiance! Oh I am so frightened. . . Quiet thunder. . . .very very lonely feeling. to have witnessed something and have no evidence.. . . I am so scared. . .

  • They can't make documentaries like this anymore.

  • S cotty beam me UP??

  • Shut up cat

  • no...but he looks like it....we are all in a time warp..and its hauling ass

  • "Hello. I'm Leonard Nimoy. The following tale of alien encounters is true. And by true, I mean false. It's all lies. But they're entertaining lies. And in the end, isn't that the real truth? The answer is: No." ~Leonard Nimoy, The Simpsons: Springfield Files

  • @securityguardclass4 ah an unforgetable moment of the simpsons

  • i wish i was 15 in 1970

  • Leonard Nimoy was killed by a cat?? LOL

  • It's all the cats fault.

  • In Search of...... Spock's Brain?

  • the 1st ufo encounter story i really believe, the detailed account, the man actually remembers all kinds of every day details that people who make stuff up don't think of mentioning cuz they see them as unimportant to their hoaxed stories

  • In search of....

  • RIP in peace, Lennie...

  • Aliens wanted to eat that cat. They went into a salivating mode wanting to eat that cat. Aliens love to eat cat flesh. Did you ever find a hurt cat?

  • @Bidil6 You're right. ALF loves cats!!

  • use to watch this in the early 90s on A&E never knew what this show was called.

  • ah, I miss the 70's

  • I love the black and white cat. It's cute!

  • I wonder if the dad is still alive??Never saw him again on any ufo shows...I believe they saw something...They never seemed to cash in....like alotta people who saw one or were abducted...

  • I love the theame music, I'm back in the 70's agein.

  • My favourite Star Trek episode was the one in which the Enterprise was spotted by American Air Force pilots, and it was reported as a UFO - which, of course, it was.

  • @stinkalloy "Tomorrow is Yesterday." It's one of my favourites too.

  • just awesome, we need more of this 'now days'

  • Did you know that Rod Serling of "The Twilight Zone" fame was supposed to be the narrator/host of In Search Of...but he dies prematurely before the series started filming.

The Producers hired the ex Vulcan Leonard Nimoy to host this new program.

  • @ThoughtTraveler I had not heard that, but I can see where he would have been perfect for this. Twilight Zone and Night Gallery were some of the best shows on TV ever. Anyway, Leonard Nimoy did a great job--I have a real nostalgic fondness for this show. I wish the History Channel would rerun this regularly--you would think this classic show would be right up their alley.

  • Love that cheesy 70's electronic music! This show was EPIC! Thanks for posting.

  • Yeah DarthMarty......the 70s were cool for Sci Fi

I remember as a kid watching In Search Of.

  • i remember seeing this when it first aired as a kid. thx for posting this - big nostalgia trip!

  • hes not dead jim.

  • Bones is dead.

  • Lenord Nimoy is NOT dead.

  • Comment removed

  • @jeffgooloolie he even appeared in a brazilian talk show not to long ago LOL

  • @jeffgooloolie Nimoy will live on through the eons.

  • @jeffgooloolie Nimoy will live on through the eons.

  • @jeffgooloolie-Wasn't Lenord Nimoy in the recent remake of the Star Trek Movie in 2009?

  • im so sory leonard nimoy yur voice beutiful

  • leonard nimoy aka spok

was just in the new star trek movie

    hope hes not dead

  • Glad the thing decided to land in the north... south of the mason dixon line they wouldve shot at it.

  • Love this show! I remember when the sci-fi channel played this show during that daytime in the 1990s.

  • the best part is the cheesy music except of course nimoy's cool narrative. she's carrying a cat now so that verifies her story that she was carrying cats before.

  • Well remember it was 1976 so that says a lot, to me. LOL

  • to think that we are the only intelligent life form in all the universe is just somehow arrogant.I have personaly never seen a UFO but then again i have never seen an atom, a great white shark or the president of the USA but they exsist

  • This show was in 76 positivley !!!!! This was the 1st season, sent chills up my spine!!!!What they dont tell you is that the kids saw this object the next day hovering over the trees nearby!!!!

  • The Womans kitty is cool.

  • I'm with the dad I would've gotten as close as I could. Maybe knocked on the door or something. (LoL)

  • the frickin cat knows more than its saying!

  • Oh boy.....I remember this show in the 70's as a boy......Nothing since has topped In Search of

  • ok...I think the real mystery is how the girl with long hair at 2:40 is wearing a Bart Simpson t-shirt 10 years before they debuted on the Tracey Ullman Show.

  • Hmm, you're right!!! Her shirt should be the premise for a new "In Search of..." show!!!

  • It's not Bart Simpson. It's two kids. Look closer.

  • Doesn't even RESEMBLE Bart. Ducatista696 is correct.

  • where is your sense of humor??

  • Old school.

  • I believe this was filmed in 1977 ,if that was the air date ,I would have been 1 year old .damn thats a long time ago

  • I watched this serie in the '70s andf I still remeber the voice of Leonard Nimoy. I'm one of the few people around that links his voice first to ISO and then Star Trek. ISO was creepy for an 8y old...

  • I live in MELLEN, WISCONSIN! I have heard this "story" many times! I believe every word the BAKER family says! Every member of that family is still haunted to this day from that experience! I have heard all about the "cover-up", first hand, from Gov't officials about this inncodent! It happened people....we deserve to know the TRUTH!

  • Wow...what cover up? They seem like a very likeable and believable family. Did it really affect them in a harmful way?

  • @krinjer Wow! Very cool! Any new information since the show aired to share? Thanks.

  • Nothing wrong with being a fan on ISO . This version is much better then that horrible remake they had a few yrs back.

  • The music is creepy.

  • Yeah I always thought so too- something about that Moog synthesizer that messes with your head

  • The music is sooooo 1970s....hilarious!

  • The first family featured- salt of the earth. I'm sure their home has been torn down to be replaced by an obnoxious 5,000+ sq. ft. "Hummer Home".

  • Thanks for uploading these episodes. I used to watch this everyday after school, and it brings back good memories. Respect.

  • Didn't they do an In Search Of on the Titanic? This was in the late 1970s, before it'd been discovered.

  • The Titanic episode was season 6, episode 13 (Nov. 30, 1981).

  • I used to watch this show when I was 9.

  • i live this show!

  • I love the background music!

Sounds like a Cat Meowing at the beginning of the episode

  • I was less than 30 seconds in before the Laurin Rinder music was giving me the heebie-jeebies like I was 11 years old again. I may scoff at a lot of the stuff I used to take dead seriously about this show, but that music is as disturbing as ever. Man, I'm glad it's not dark out yet.

  • I love this music; If I were a wrestler or boxer or a baseball player coming to the plate, I would use it as my theme music.

Better yet, If I were a relief pitcher entering the game in the ninth inning, I use this music.

It is the bomb! I love In Search Of!

  • They need to issue this show on DVD. I've heard some people have been writing the company (Universal?) about it. I think A&E was airing them in the 1990s.

  • The A&E versions were mercilessly edited, presumably to reduce the licensing fee. later reruns on History Channel were less butchered. Hopefully, a DVD release would feature unedited versions.

  • I like when Leonard Nimoy says. "A dark patch of ground on a football field: normal people saw the object that made it".

    LOL!

  • Oak Island...sorry!

  • Awesome! I love this show. Nimoy's voice makes me sleepy for some reason. I loved that episode about the Roanoke Island treasure....they still haven't found that thing to this day!

  • The first season rules.

  • Oh man! I loved this show.

  • Gotta love the music. lol Classic.

    Loved the show.

  • this show rocks to the core...

  • that is the best.

  • I have been a huge unsolved fan for years but this show was ahead of its time and really started it all. Both shows have some similiaries such as: deep voiced narrator, cool/spooky music and the same kind of topics.

  • ME TOO 1977

    TEZZ

  • in search of & unsolved mysteries were classics!

  • What ever happened to shows like this? I used to love watching this show as a child. Thanx for posting this

  • Bring more shows on here, please!!

  • LOL When I was a kid watching this, I remember thinking that Nimoy was getting old. Now he looks like a kid.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. In Search of was one of my favorite shows back when I was just a kid.

  • In Search Of: The Easter Island Massacre (1977) - best episode!

  • The greatest documentary series ever made.

  • Soon as I heard that music I had the flash back! I loved watching this.

  • This is perhaps the best tv series ever made, the music, the subjects they coverd, and of course Nimoy, I wish they had these on dvd, thank you for posting this....

  • Yes, it still kicks ass and played in a time when we appreciated what society now takes for granted. People today are so damn spoiled.

  • In Search of kicked anus!!! It would freak me out when I was a kid.

  • This program demonstrates how to produce an outstanding program- photography, Nimoy hosting, music. why can't TV produce stuff of this quality anymore? I really miss the old TV days.

  • "In Search of" is as good as it gets!!!!!!!!!!I LOVED LOVED this program when it played in the 1970s and hosted by the irreplacable Leonard Nemoy. Thank you YOU TUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thank you so much for this. a great series which is long over due on DVD. watched it as a kid here in the UK on ATV at 5.15pm on thursdays in the late 1970's. it was a facinating series and i remembered the theme song after all this time. cheers

    atvmidlands

  • Aliens, UFO's and our government.

Watch a teaser trailer for the film that will finally unlock the mystery.

Type MONTAUK UNVEILED into your youtube search vehicle.

  • this show rules!!!! better than the history channel... in search of got to the point fast.. whether you believe it or not !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Watching these programs is great, even if just for the nostalgic photography look & cool synth music! I Miss ISO and the original Unsolved Mysteries on cable.

  • in search of aried on nbc 1977

  • Arnold saw secret U.S. (C.I.A) advanced craft.

  • Leonard Nimoy has one creepy ass voice and the stupid american comment only shows how much people are jeolous .Dont be mad at the U.S just because every thing in the U.S is way better and we rule the world, just lay back and enjoy life and maybe we'll share some of our good shit. Look just move to america and you will see wut I've been typing about.

  • uh... I'm not even going to bother arguing that retarded point. I'm from Canada and we have it at least as good as you, if not a little better in some ways.

Anyway this series is pretty cool. UFOs I'm not so sure about but some of the subject matter gives cause for thought.

  • I am new to this forum, but what does this have to do with the greatest real life mystery show ever produced?

  • I'd like you to find out how manyy MRI machines you have in Canada, and get back to me on the 'eat shit, America' comment. K?

  • I'd like to know how much it costs for you to get an MRI done in America. 'Cus in Canada they are FREE, as is all of our health care. I think the 'eat shit, America' comment still stands.

  • I'm looking for as many episodes of this show as possible. Prefer them to be from History channel. Please get in touch if you have them.

  • thanks for posting this In Search of..!

  • This ep is this shows' money shot.

  • That music is the stuff!

  • I love the music at the beginning, it kind of sounds like cats meowing! Please post more episodes of this show!

  • i really miss this show...............

  • Yes! This show is still the best. The music for this show and the Twilight Zone still creep me out.

  • Actually! Baker's daughter creeps me out! Watch as she strokes her cat while she is talking! She is creepy!

  • I would do her..

  • Thank you. I loved this series.

  • God I wish they would get off their ass and put this series on dvd. Thanks for posting this as it is an episode I no longer have on tape. Great stuff.

  • They put all kinds of stupid shit on DVD now...but they will not put this cool show in DVD..WhY?

  • lies

  • What's your deal?!?

  • My deal is people who try and put down something they do not understand...

  • The "unread stupid American.." quote was a little harsh. I do not believe a word regarding aliens landing on Earth. But I have ready many a book. I would like to think my imagination is quite furtile and I am from the United States. My only real gripe with your comment would be the "stupid American" portion as U.S. bashing is oh so prevelant on YouTube nowadays. My wish is for the elimination of the generalizing of people based on where they happen to live.

  • The average American reads on a 5th to 6th grade level. This is a proven fact. This is a standard way behind Europe and Japan and some Latin American nations.

    Get the picture now?

  • Please cite your statistics, and then I will get your picture.

  • He is sort of right. The USAF for a fact prints all of its manuals on a 6th or 7th grade level. I was told that by a training officer.

I think the fact that Americans are reading on a low level is quite common knowledge - you do not realy need any stats.

  • Not in my world. But good luck with the hatred.

  • Yeah...just call hate anything you are too stupid or ignorant to understand..

Thanks for proving my point :)

  • Would jeolousy be a more appropriate term?

  • i dont believe in generalization no matter what circumstance...it's just another form of ignorance and i agree with your comments.

  • Dude it's the internet, it's a breeding ground for idiots, get used to it.
