  • Sorry but I won't install win7 on a Mac. It's freaking slow on Apple computers.

My Win7 works well on regular pc. The iMac is about to head to the recycling plant.

  • lol, and irish with a hang over

  • I like that you're open. However, I find little to no reason for me (or others) to use mac. I find that most that use mac, tend to think they need it for some reason, like editing etc. I'm not against using osx if I needed that for editing or studio work, but I've found I have no use for it. I'd bel for mac, except I hate slow, over priced core2duo imacs for $1700 when I can have an i7 based pc at 4ghz for $700. Or even stock speed is better. Waiting hours for something to render stinks.

  • I recall this one mac fanboy who insisted his mac ruled, except he couldn't do HD because it took forever. Then one year AFTER PC had it, apple released i7 macs for $1999. So it was basicallly $1300 MORE than I paid, and still slower. As for crashes, I'd agree, except you can't hinge it all on one version of premiere and that fanboys insist you need FCP. See cows&cows&cows video - was edited under win7. Or don't unplug me all caps, music under 7. If that works, that means it's all possible

  • under windows 7. Neither machine or OS is better at running something. Any application can potentially run under 7 or either. They wouldn't trust banking, scientific and medical information under windows if this weren't true. Having to buy 2 platforms also makes it annoying to upgrade them, causing most mac users to fall behind and live with slow computers. And while apple pretends to be in the lead, they are usually behind with things like TRIM and other new technology. Because there is

  • always a way to do anything under 7 and have it do well, I can't see much of a reason to have mac. Also I can VM osx if I needed it (I don't). That's how it should be instead of people trying to do it the other way. DaveDays also tends to use sony vegas. You're right about them being tools, and having more can't hurt.. But again, I find 99% of mac lovers, think the mac is a must to get good results in editing and have an attitude to hate ms. If they compiled FCP for 7, mac would have

  • even one less reason to be useful. But look at Adobe, they don't care. They just make it for both. And often PC owners can finish faster, add more effects without waiting and do it cheaply. Many of the smarter editing houses have rows of PC's for getting their tasks done more quickly. It's just a law of nature you can't argue with. -- But hey, if someone really, really, really wants some of the FEW programs for macs and insists then great. It's a fine tool even if it's majorly over rated.

  • use whatever OS you want to use. Done

  • mac is still better

  • @TheBuckface, at what?? This is the other thing about mac fans. They don't seem to need real reasons to have them. The guy in the video almost had a good reason. He said the editor didn't crash. That was understandable, however nothing to do with windows itself. And it's not true that just because you get on a PC that means the editor will crash. So credit goes to the editor. There's still other great editors that don't crash under windows. Some of the same ones used on osx.

  • @coldblooded482 >implying you can't install Windows on a Mac and use that for gaming and OS X for superior productivity

I like Windows 7 and OS X both the same. That's why I bought a Mac, to be able to use both without compatibility issues (OSx86 is still a bit... off, in areas)

  • @Warmijwilf, it's funny when mac users spend all that money and then in the next breath want to install windows. There is not one thing about osx that makes it superior for productivity over windows other than having apple tell you that. Both OS's are fairly similar. I agree that it's cool to have both, but when I have to buy slow mac hardware, it's not worth it. I have run virtual OSX for fun before, but have little use for it. And i7 + SSD in vmware is faster than stock core2duo imac

  • @rfsent5 I don't agree, I run both OSes on my Macbook and I find Mac OS better for certain things, like Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, etcetera. You're right, the hardware in terms of CPU, RAM and shit are worse, but the actual build quality I find superior to most laptops. For example, the audio is amazing on this, compared to severel alienwares and lenovos and other makes, the audio just doesn't compare. Not only can it be amazingly loud the quality is brilliant. And the screen, <3333

  • @Warmijwilf

I run both OSX and Windows yet I find that InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc... run just as well on Windows as well as OSX... Maybe Apple made OSX optimization for Adobe software better then Microsoft with Windows but from my experience:

All Adobe software is just as fast on OSX like on Windows (same hardware used), there are small difference such as Short-cuts but that's nothing ....

  • @CyphenPhsyX Oh, I'm sure it's different for different people, but in my experience alone Photoshop runs a bit better on OS X. Nothing enough to make a major decision to switch to Mac by any means at all, but just personal experience kind of thing. :)

  • @rfsent5 Stock iMac isn't Core 2 Duo.

  • you sound sick.

  • Macs are good for douchey kids who think they're awesome when they go to starbucks and write on their livejournal page.

PCs are good for everything else.

  • windows7 is bulllllshitt

  • @coldblooded482 BIAS PEICE OF SHIT!!! YOU CANT AFFORD A MAC!!! EARN MONEY BEGGAR!

  • There are plenty of editors in LA using Windows.

  • i dont get why apple is so mean microsoft gives mac users microsoft office etc and lets apple run windows on their macs and steve jobs gives nothing to us

  • @dkiu100 Believe me, you don't want it. Be thankful.

  • @TheCarloMarlo i got a mac yesterday so im not complaining any more

  • @dkiu100 He doesnt have to, Bill stole everything he has from apple

  • @dkiu100, apple has to be because their over all desktop sales were a failure. So their new move is to target tweenies (mostly). Get them hooked on music players, then groom them to like macs a little at a time with deceptive adverts. Now THAT is the real truth. Microsoft should never have saved Apple from bankruptcy. They should have let them go under. Because now we have to listen to stupid comments from idiots.

  • Lol if I was that ill, I'd be wrapped up in a warm bed with a mug of Lemsip :P

  • mac has a great os and they make great computers, but pc is better for gaming and professionals cause macs cant get 2 cpu's, 3 graphics cards, 4 hard drives, 4 RAM slots and 3 disk drives, my pc can. i know its a bit over the top but some professional or hardcore gamer may need this

  • @whatsagoodusername11 Hey genius, do your homework and take a quick look at the Mac Pro. i can build it with 2 processors, 32GB of ram, multiple video cards, 4 hard drives etc. plus i can install windows 7 64bit on a mac pro and play any game a pc can play.

  • mac has a great os and they make great computers, but pc is better for gaming and it professionals cause macs cant get 2 cpu's, 3 graphics cards, 4 hard drives, 4 RAM slots and 3 disk drives, my pc can. i know its a bit over the top but some professional or hardcore gamer may need this

  • I HATE WINDOWS IT SUCKS

  • @effelloh right, you can take that "linux is for programmers" with a grain of salt, I do some java programming in eclipse, and I use a mac

  • @bobOp how old are you?? boot camp just sets up and installs windows for you.. macs are intel based and they have no problem running windows...

  • crapple.

  • Like one person said: It is not about which one is better overall, it is about which one is better to the user. Since I like playing games, and most games are on Windows, also since we actually handle the PCs with care, as for me, withthe occasional tweak :P, I would rather like Windows to Macs. Of course, if u edit alot, I'd go with Macs.

  • @Denon333dash888 I agree, it is opinion on which you do, it's like saying choir club is better than football club, if you like singing go to choir club, if you like football go to football club

  • this guys cool

  • Big ups. I've been saying this for years now. Also made the switch to Mac in March 2008 and I also have Windows 7 Professional dual booted on my black MacBook. Use what you like and what works for me. I spend about 95% of my time in OS X, but it's nice to be able to easily hop over to Windows that other 5% of the time to use applications that simply aren't available on Macs.

  • Playing with both I prefer to stick with Windows and upgrade to Windows 7.

  • Well said man. It is wise to open up for both operating systems.

  • boot camp is emulation any emulation has issues.

  • @Bob0p Boot Camp isn't emulation. Shows how much you know.

  • @Warmijwilf um yes it is emulation retard. If its running while mac is running then infact it is emulation which it is. bootcamp is installed inside of mac and bootcamp runs the version of windows. meaning it is emulated much like vmware.

  • @Bob0p - All BootCamp does is create a separate partition on the Mac's boot drive & reformat it to NTFS so that Windows can install onto it - being designed to run on any hardware, once Windows is installed on the drive it'll run just the same as on any other PC (which is exactly what a Mac is, in terms of hardware)...

It's only with VMware & Parallels that it's run as an emulation, and they still both work very well anyway!

  • @MrDavidHarrison all emulators have issues. I really doubt it creates a separate partition because that would not be something worth $50 you can do the same on a linux computer for only the cost of the windows 7 (not visversa though because microsoft because assholes and locked up the windows 7 partition so you cant adjust it but you can install inside the os and it emulates a seperate partition (more then likely what boot camp does).

  • @Bob0p - "Boot Camp Assistant guides users through non-destructive re-partitioning (including resizing of an existing HFS+ partition, if necessary) of their hard disk drive and using the Mac OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard disc to install Windows drivers. In addition to device drivers for the hardware, the disc includes an applet for the Windows control panel for selecting the boot operating system."

Is it still emulation "retard"? Don't get so cocky when you don't know what you're talking about

  • @MrDavidHarrison lawlz your one to talk about cockyness you wont even admit emulation can be buggy as hell, shows how much you know.

to me it just seems you want to blame windows rather then the emulation you are forced to deal with.

Also if its not emulation why did boot-camp have to have a update for windows 7 and have a version for windows 7. It if was not it would have just partitioned your hard drive to fit windows 7 and restarted to boot from disc drive to install on it.

  • @Bob0p - I never said *anything* about the pros & cons of emulation; I was talking about how BootCamp works. Providing additional Mac drivers (unavailable via Microsoft) to a native OS isn't the same as emulation. When a Mac is operating in Windows mode OSX is completely inert.

It's the same as dual booting Ubuntu on a Windows 7 machine. While you can run Ubuntu inside Windows via Wubi, if you boot from the Ubuntu partition at startup Windows just sits there doing sod-all...

  • @Bob0p - BootCamp didn't really need to be updated, all the drivers for Vista are the same as for 7 (7 is basically Vista SP3 re-branded) so the Vista edition will work perfectly well. The only reason why Apple released a new version is the same reason they release most incremental upgrades; to squeeze more money out of their fanatically loyal (& spectacularly gullible) customer base!

Btw, I'm not, as you seem to think, a Mac fanboy; I actually prefer Windows - I just know how computers work!

  • @MrDavidHarrison

Bootcamp updates are FREE, dumbass. Obviously you're a mac basher that knows nothing about his enemy.

  • @codeythesilent - The various editions of BootCamp are free, as are the incremental upgrades, but many people won't have a clue that the XP/Vista edition will work just as well with Win7; & so will go out to buy a completely new Mac just to run the latest version of Windows. It's not Mac users or the computers themselves I have a problem with (while Win7 is my OS of choice there are iMacs at my uni that I sometimes use & they are magnificent machines) it's the abuse of the consumer's gullibility

  • @MrDavidHarrison

Wow, I've never heard of people buying a new mac for the sole purpose of getting a newer version of bootcamp (Or any other software upgrades) Usually people that have macs keep them around (Older G5 and G4 macs seem to run better with tiger than most computers would with xp or 7)... plus they're very reliable hardware-wise so there's not too many issues around that corner. Or people buy new macs just for their better hardware. But for software stuff??

  • @MrDavidHarrison eh I think I understand what it does now. It does not emulate the os as you can say but the partition (still glitchy emulation always is even for nes emulators). I dont get why though it only works with specific versions of windows and why it probably wont work with linux. That is why I thought it emulated just windows because they made it so its only compatable with certain ones. But that is just a theroy either way it seems it is emulated inorder to have multiple format types.

  • @Bob0p - There is *NO* emulation! See my response to another one of your posts to see why you don't need to emulate different file systems for different partitions on the same disk...

  • @Bob0p ...What. No it isn't. Booting up with a Linux LiveCD and checking the partitions on the computer prove that there are different partitions for OS X and Windows. And when you check Disk Management you see there are 2 different partitions for the 2 HDDs...

It doesn't "emulate" the partition, as if it did that how would Linux be able to see it? Don't talk what you don't know about and then call other people "retards". Hell, researching BootCamp on fucking Google tells you what it does.

  • @Warmijwilf Sorry, 2 different partitions on the same HDD. Not emulation.

  • @Warmijwilf

You're right. It does make actual partitions. Tell whoever that thinks it's emulation to suck a fat one.

  • @Warmijwilf um lawlz your one to talk. I was responding to someone who was suggesting multi formating for a hard drive. which the only way that would be possible for a hard drive is if a partition was not real an infact was the os on the hard drive emulating another format with partition.

  • @Bob0p - Yet again, you've got it wrong... It is entirely possible to have more than one format on a HDD - the "format" of a partition is just the style of database index that lists the files (or parts thereof) stored in each sector of the disk. There's nothing physically preventing you from formatting a disk like this (to pull some random numbers from the air):

    Mac OS X

    Sectors 1-87381

    Format: HFS+

    Windows 7

    Sectors 87382-174763

    Format: NTFS

    Shared files

    Sectors 174764-262144

    Format: FAT32

  • @Bob0p ...You don't know anything about partiitoning or hard drives, do you?

The HDD in a Mac is like any other. In any HDD, you can have different filesystems on different partitions. Have you ever partitioned a HDD in your life?

    There is no emulation.

The only reason you assume it is emulation is because "Macs are more expensive so you have to pay a premium". Yes, Macs are overpriced and Apple are stupid. But Boot Camp is *not* emulation. Boot Camp is a program that partitions your HDD.

  • @Warmijwilf Um no I have never actshually used boot camp nor anything else on a mac then using a friends because they are pointlessly more expensive then usual. So no I have not used a HDD. So I do not know how HDD works. I thought macs just use normal hard drives and based on normal hard drives you cant really do that. So in order to get different formats on a normal hard drive it must be programed to in the bios or it must be emulated. And no I dont assume its emulated for the price.

  • @Warmijwilf I assumed it was emulated because all these mac fanboys complaining about issues that never happened to me and sound like emulation problems with using bootcamp. So based on a majority of morons blaming windows for issues that they are apparently having I assumed it was emulated when really that is the only excuse I could give them to defend their whining attitude of pear stupidity. Here is one example I hear alot "ALL my programs keep crashing every 30 seconds in windows 7".

  • @Bob0p They're probably Mac fanboys dissing Windows, not boot camp. I run Windows perfectly, and haven't had a single crash. They're probably idiots who think that everything works the same as in OS X, so don't understand that things work differently. People like that are just morons.

And this is coming from somebody who owns a Mac and enjoys OS X. I don't think either one is superior, but I'm just pointing out that Boot Camp isn't emulation by any means.

  • @Warmijwilf no I had flow blown out arguements with the mac fanboys majority of them said they where using boot camp.

  • @Bob0p Exactly? if they're Mac fanboys, they're going to be trying to blame Windows. As boot camp is just a program for partitioning (it is. there is no emulation involved. google it.), chances are that a) They got a virus because they are stupid as internet users or b) Tried to run windows like a mac and encountered problems.

Boot Camp is no different from any other partitioning software, other than it's a lot easier.

  • @Warmijwilf they did blame windows and did not know exactly what a partition even was nor exactly what bootcamp exactly was. To me that seems dumb they would spend money on something that they did not know what it has done, meaning they probably where lieing and trying to bash windows 7. Most of the time when people get viruses now adays its their own dam faults and most of the time is linked to either pirating or porn. There still is a chance on regular sites like fpsbanana black internet virus

  • @Bob0p Yeah they probably are lying. All I know is that for me, Boot Camp works perfectly, and from checking the filesystems with Linux, nothing seems like emulation, be it OS, or partition :)

  • @Warmijwilf Reason why all programs crashing every 30 seconds is impossible is because some programs running in the background are required inorder to keep the os to continue running meaning they would get bluescreen every 30 seconds and say they get blue screens every 30 seconds which is a result of either a virus or damaged operating system files do to incorrect shutdowns.

  • @Warmijwilf Boot Camp uses Apple drivers, on an Apple machine. When i see the speed of booting up Windows in Boot Camp, i just know Apple messed it up. By the way, i tested and i got kicked out of almost every EA game beceause of Punkbuster, a very popular anti-cheat system. My video drivers from Apple seems to be a hack or something...

  • @murdoch201 um, the video drivers used are the official NVidia ones. you see that during the Boot Camp install, that it is automating the install from the disc/USB (plus you can download them from Nvidia's site yourself).

Well of course the drivers are mostly made by Apple, because most of the hardware comes from Apple. You wouldn't be put off if Acer supplied their own drivers for an Acer laptop.

Windows takes long to Boot up in Boot Camp because it needs to emulate a BIOS within it's EFI.

  • @Warmijwilf Nope, There is no Apple hardware (maybe just the mouse+keyboard). There is a Nvidia card, a Samsung or LG display, a hard drive from (something else then Apple, forgot the name), ... Only the blueprints are from Apple. However, maybe except the video card drivers, most drivers are from Apple. And i still get kicked out by punkbuster, on 2 Mac systems.

  • @murdoch201 Yeah, you just proved my point. It's not all Apple hardware, and thus does not use Apple drivers (trust me, while you install the Boot Camp drivers on Windows, it's evident it uses official ones and not Apple-made ones).

  • Nice man keep it up :)

  • wtf puts Windows in a Mac?

  • @tunedIN101 it's called BootCamp , it comes in EVERY Intel Mac sold and i said Intel not PowerPC.

  • @1231Samb the OS is more advanced, you can see more at apple's website /why-mac; they are more expensive though, but if you can afford invest in one, it's worth it, they last for several years without needing any fixing, repairing, or slowing down, so in the long run, it can be cheaper

  • I like Windows 7. Mac is too plain and gay. Windows 7 looks alot like Vista, but its faster and More fun to use than Mac.

  • Great!

So, about Final Cut. I have never used Mac. What do you think: Are there any differenses between FCS2 and Sony Vegas? What do you think?

  • @pchukhnov the difference is that sony vegus has more features and FC is more simple

  • 0:00

  • i like u, but i hate when people talk like that when theyr sick

  • Every Apple product is a rip off. Let's take a simple Macbook for example. $1000 for $300 worth of hardware. Is a Mac developer friendly? No. Can you upgrade a desktop Mac's hardware by yourself like you can with a PC? No. You need to bring it to your local Apple Store so they can rape you with high prices again.

  • @krisish00d Thats only reason i hate macs is because you cant get in a mac as easy as a pc(Being a gamer this is an issue). Also very true to, 1000 dollars gets you an Alienware. I rather have one of those than a MAC(Also cause im a gamer).

  • @krisish00d Your an idiot. That didn't cost me anything to say that.

  • @macuser5555

You are one of those people that think there is nothing beyond computers than just going on facebook.

  • dude, i prefer Mac, becuse i work with photos and i really like Aperture. I have a macbock pro and IMac, both run OS X and Windos 7.

  • As a dude from Dun Laoghaire but living in Sydney OZ it's nice to hear more and more Dublin accents on youtube. Dave, I agree about the mac/windows thing. I am about to get an iMac 27" and will also dual boot with windows 7. Nice vid...have a beer for me! and hello from Bondi Beach!

  • Macbook or Mac Mini?

  • Why run Windows on a mac? If you have mac, you can use mac - it's much better... but it's really too expensive ;)

  • How about running Windows 7, Mac OS X (Illegally) and Linux running on a Custom Built PC

  • Macs are good for casual PC users , you know those who may not know much about a computer or hardly care for that matter , 90% of the time they will be checking there Facebook or going onto YouTube.

Windows is in more demand atm , you hear people building computers (Best performance for gaming and shit) and you don't here them say i installed MAC OSX to play battlefield Bad company 2 on my computer.

You do however here i installed windows. Macs are for casual Users

Windows is a bit more srs.

  • @Calamity1000 that's not entirely true...in fact people who dont know that much about computers usually go with windows only because it's cheaper....

  • @Calamity1000 You're completely wrong. Nearly everyone that I know that is remotely interested in audio engineering, graphic design, photography, music production, video editing, programming (because you can run multiple platforms on a Mac) and just about every creative trade I can think chooses Macs over Windows-based machines. And unless you aspire to become some sort of professional gamer (most of which seem to be on consoles nowdays), I rarely see any "srs" computing done on Windows boxes :)

  • @Calamity1000 thats so untrue mac is professional. For an example if you use adobe flash or something it runs 100x smoother on a mac...

  • @Calamity1000 wrong ;) the reason windows is the most common, is because it is for casual users; macs are for multimedia production, and linux is for programmers, get your facts straight

  • @Calamity1000 more serious for.... gamers? yeah. a windows is becoming a game system now instead of a computer. I find it funny how windows run better on macs. Many of the arguments against macs have to do with gaming. but yeah windows ARE better for gaming. But i just believe that macs are better quality computers for almost everything else

  • @lllULTIMATEMASTERlll Windows is a game system? Are you drunk? Do you know how many Avid Editors use Windows?

  • @Calamity1000

Uh, you're a bit off... Macs have the most programs aimed at graphics. (i.e, video, photos, and all that fancy stuff) Professional movie makers than make the videos you watch on dvd and even some here on youtube use Macs for your viewing pleasure. And on top of that, the reason OS X isn't used on custom built computers is because it's illegal. Check the Apple EULA. But yeah, you can game on a mac. Download Steam, pop in your game, register it and install.

  • @codeythesilent Steam on Mac is horrible.

I've experienced better performance (though the stability on Steam Mac is amazing) on Linux, through Wine...

I use a Macbook and love OS X so don't think I'm biased, I just think Valve did a very bad job at Steam for Mac and it should have massive updates.

  • @Warmijwilf

I use steam on my hackintosh just fine. If anything, you'd think me (if anyone) would have issues since it's not even running on legit apple hardware, but the only issue I have is that some lighting effects (Like HDR and bloom) don't work in-game (I had no issues with it in windows xp or 7 with the same computer)

  • @codeythesilent same issues when you try to use steam with wine on ubuntu and alot of other additional problems at times.

  • @Calamity1000 I dunno about that. I'd say for gaming, yes, of course, Windows is vastly superior due to the massive amount of games that require Windows. Definitely not disputing that. But at the same time, there are productivity programs for Mac (Final Cut Pro being a good example) which usually - and I'm not saying all the time - are better than their Windows counterparts. Mac - Casual users and media usage, Windows - Affordable and for awesome gaming.

  • @Calamity1000 You don't know what you're talking about. OS X is a real UNIX. You can go all the way down to the shell with the command line. Go back to playing your games. They're very srs.

  • @Zubirrex yeah OS X is a real UNIX and what ??

is OS X capable to be a realiable webserver?

Nope !! (it's just crap OS)

  • @dnscpan Now you're just showing your stupidity. Go back to playing WoW.

  • @dnscpan They do sell a server version, retard. Didn't expect you to know that, seeing how all you use Windows for is games and torrents. Because you're a fucking retard.

  • @Zubirrex Nobody uses mac server !!

  • @dnscpan Obviously, someone does, or they wouldn't sell it, would they, genius?

  • @Zubirrex OS X is a real UNIX ??? GO fuck yourself !!! I can make my own OS X & lame shell from FreeBSD!!! so you can play Zork or Tetris on your OS X !!!

  • @dnscpan LOOLLOLLOLlOl.oLL> Durp durp DURPITY FUCKIN DURP!1!!!! LLOOLLLOLOLL!1!!!1

I LIEK GAMEZ ON MY PUTER! ITS EVEN BETTAR THAN XBOX!1!1L OLLOLLOL11!!!

  • @Zubirrex GNU = GNU is Not UNIX

    Linux is Not UNIX,

but you said Mac OS X is REAL UNIX !!!... what a moron guy !!

  • @dnscpan Linux is an obvious Unix clone. Any idiot who doesn't use Windows knows that. DURP DA DURP DURP DURP! I WANNAZ DO AN INSTANZE. WOW IS AWSUM, AMIRITE?@!!

  • @Zubirrex Are you playing with Mac-zork with LSD ? You're an f**ckin idiot !!!

Linux IS NOT Unix !!! Richard Stallman & Linus Torvald and the rest of the world know that !

(except mac users who said an OS that have shell, and she can call it a Macintrash = Real Unix..) LOL

  • @dnscpan Ok, you're a fucking retard. Bye bye now, go play Rift with the rest of your butt buddies. Leave OS discussion to the adults.

  • @Zubirrex Macintrash IS REAL UNIX !! LOL :-P

  • @dnscpan Huuuuurrrrrpppp. Durrrrrrrppppp. LLOLLLOLOLLLLOLLOOLLLOL!1!11!!!

  • Did you film this using the iSight camera? Whats the highest resolution?

  • mac suck ass

  • haha, the pc on the left in the background are like some we have at school. lol

  • :D yes

  • I've seen two of your videos, and I can say that I quite enjoy your thoughts. However, I have run on more than one occasion Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4 running at the same time and neither of them have crashed. It may just be luck. After Effects only crashes when I'm doing something too stupid for my computer to handle.

In any case, another great video. Keep 'em coming!

  • please get some panadol cold & flu

  • i think i have to subscribe to you

  • i swear to drung i'm not god....nah man just kidding

  • For the bank it is more than likely a third OS made by Linux because it is more of a business OS and another maker is Solaris so for possible OS in use

  • It looks like you have a Dell Optiplex in the background. What do you use OSX for mostly and what do you use Windows 7 for mostly?

  • okay i have question everybody please... i Have Dell laptop can i install mac system on it ? i know it`s may ne sounds stupid but i just wanna make sure about it

  • @larsyulia Generally no, it's possible to install Windows on a Mac, but there are very few if any notable numbers of people doing the opposite.

I'd still look around to be honest it's always worth a try, but it's unlikely.

  • Windows XP is better than Windows 7! if you agree with me thumbs this up

  • @lpsp2 I have a 2005 issue Toshiba that runs in XP and I love it!

  • how do u download boot camp with the latest updates??? Sorry. i'm new to Mac. Just bought a old Imac from Friend and wanting to try out Boot Camp.

    This is my specs:

    Imac 2.16 Ghz

    1 GB Ram

    250 GB HDD

    Intel Core 2 Duo

    Thanks.

  • * gasp * the pc in the background loove just like mine REALLY ALOT LIKE MINE even the sceen looks like mine

  • Besides Apple is a good brand and they are the one and only manufacturer of Apple computers so the failure rate is probably low. If you buy an IBM computer from a quality brand the failure rate is probably comparable...

  • win7 seems like a really good OS, many fine reviews.

not to start a fangirl war, but what are the cons of win7

  • being to stable, that's the only con of windows 7 I've ever experienced

  • Plus just like Mac Linux can run CrossOver and virtual xp, or virtual Windows 7... I run Windows XP ,Windows 7 and Mac OS inside Linux... all on a HP / PC yep that's right you can run Mac OS on a standard HP computer... with Linux Ubuntu, or an of the many other 100's of Linux distributions out there.

  • Linux is used to create practically every blockbuster movie in theaters today, movies produced by Disney/Pixar, DreamWorks Animation, Sony. Linux is the most popular operating system for big budget feature film animation and visual effects, with more than 95% of the servers and desktops at large animation and visual effects companies. Over 50% of Google is powered by Linux. Google Chrome is based off of Linux... Most government computers are Linux as well...

  • I need help to get it work not to hear this idiot ramble

  • Totally agree with you Dave, Windows and Mac OSX are tools. I will go with the one that lets me spend more time working rather than fixing.

  • which one is that

  • Bootcamp would not be possible if Apple didn't adopt the IBM compatible x86 instruction set. If Apple still used G4, G5..ect CPUs windows would not run at all. This is also why MacOS will run on a non-apple computer.

  • "IBM compatible" - LOL!!! IBM made the PowerPC chips in the older Macs. It's Intel that make the x86 chips. Apple switch because of price / performance, not that it a better base design. Because of the sheer number of chips Intel sells, they can offer more for the money. As for making these things possible - obviously it did - we all know that. So what was your point?

  • @onairek

My meaning was specific to the IBM PC platform; remember back in the 1980's and 90s when computers were labeled as 100% IBM compatible? My meaning was specific to the IBM PC not IBM PowerPC CPU specific. Just look up IBM PC compatible on Wikipedia.

Perhaps I would have altered my phrasing. ;)

  • My point is clear why waste money and purchase a Mac?! When anyone can just build a Hackintosh PC if they want MacOS since it is now a x86 based OS.

  • @syntax1981 b/c

1 the hardware is really good

    2 the customer support

3 Os 10 runs best on macs

4 99% of drivers arent compatible with the OS

  • 1 intel makes processors that are unique to apple, so does Nvida, ect

2 if you want to pay that much money when something goes wrong, then be my guest. My arguement still stands, because other people might need it

3 im glad we can agree on something

  • @WEROCHGE

1 No, they don't. The model # might be different but the architecture is identical.

2 I don't pay much at all; its much cheaper to build computers.

    3 Ok.

  • @syntax1981 Can, but why would they want to?

  • do you even know who programmed those SHITTY chips?

  • not the way to blog. maybe dont drink so much ?

thanks for the blog though .

  • I don't understand how you got windows 7 on your imac. Bootcamp doesn't support it. I bought a new imac yesterday and everything I'm reading says you can't download it through bootcamp without a very difficult tricking out. Was it straight forward download for you?

  • Bootcamp just creates an NTFS parition to install windows on.

  • It worked. Thanks.

  • u always have hangover:L

  • hey, thanks for the vids.

i'm was thinking of getting the windows 7 for my basic 13 inch pro and i'm not to worried aobut the problems you mentioned there. but just to be sure, it should still install right? and it would be great to hear some of the other issues that have arised before.

    thanks again

  • wow one day old and over 1000 views lol

  • My god man you sound terrible...

  • you and soldierknowsbest should do a vid together over the web or someshit that would own

  • Fantastic video.

  • how much hard drive space did u partition for windows 7 i was considering getting a 1TB imac and halving it for OS X and Win 7

  • that is much more than enough. you only need like 16 gb or somethin for the minimum partition i think

  • are you on the third floor?

  • Dave. Did you get a new set of earphones for your Nano or are you still using your standard Apple buds?

  • a hangover ? hahahahaha

  • ru sick

  • man i lover your videos the first one i saw was your unboxing of your pro. haha you should do it again.

    keep the videos coming

  • Use Time Machine to jump to a point you weren't sick. I like Windows, I love Mac OSX and I hate Linux for use on a PC. Linux is best on machines you don't have to work with, like Set-Top boxes, Servers and so.
