Real estate is not close to leveling out to supportable prices. Its got more to fall.

Some are parasites who get rich on leverage buy outs and credit swaps, then want billions in bail outs. The problem is - its hard to tell, and harder to write a tax code that handles that.
Why not just tax the credit swaps, leverag buy outs, short selling, ect, like we tax work? LIke we tax a roofer or plumber. Right now, work is taxed 300% higher. Stop that shit.

Payrolls declined by 85K, much more than expected.
What makes this number so disappointing is that January is historically worse when it comes to payrolls, as all the temporary holiday workers are. We could very well see triple digit contraction again next month.
Also, Yahoo is reporting that the workforce declined by 661,000 (HOLY SH!T)

There is way too much easy money in the economy right now for stocks to experience any noteable decline.
I personally would wait until the yield on the 10yr note is well over 4% before I even consider shorting the market.

Democracies last historically 200 years. They end when half the population figures they can vote themselves a living off the 50 who work. Also we are in one of the historical cycles primed for a depression. Stock up on barter goods like imported foods, coffee tea Sugar Olive Oil. Be prepared only if you half believe. Someone might plant more garden and share if you have lots of canning jars and help work in the garden.

One thing I've notice in grocery stores lately, Who has what in their cart. My opinion....cash paying people have common sense food based on their budget. Usually have the little red carrying "basket". The foodstamp recipients have the overflowing carts with JUNK-Food related to Obesity. Maybe it's profiling , but it's my own attestment to what i see locally here in Western PA. Our welfare people usually stay there for years. What is the next level...where are we going as a nation?

Today the Arizona Daily Star reported; "Ariz led nation in bankruptcy growth in 2009". This is with the latest bankruptcy laws. In the Tucson area there were 6887 filing. That's a little higher than the average of 6500 seen between 2002-2004. The article went on to say that the top four states were AZ, WY, NV, CA. Btwn 2002-2006 is when AZ had its out of control home building. I imagine this figure will increase for 2010.

Everything was positive about the market, jobs, manufacturing, etc. If you watched this for your news you'd be so excited about 2010, you'd probably go out and buy a second car you cant afford. I think the rally on Wall Street could continue for another year or two, even though, based on construction spending and sales tax receipts, there has been no real recovery.
Wall Street is not based on fundamentals, as the S&P rose to record highs in 2007 while home prices were plunging.
When banks, as well as auto and home buyers, can borrow cheaply, money will inevitably find its way into stocks. The bonds market will put an end to it,it is just a matter of when.

The first signs I knew the economy was tanked was when I saw Ashley Madison ad's airing on CNN. For those that don't know, Ashley Madison has commercials for a dating site for married people who want to cheat. Flat out.

I hear that Americans are the least-taxed people in the world. I am an American in France for 15 years to get healthcare. We lose about 52 per cent. of our income to taxes, but most people grudgingly admit they like the benefits here. We do have a lot of wasted money, though, and many French are very apathetic. They complain but don't actually do anything -- they are lousy at voting, even.

Got wind on a rumor that there will be new immigration law granting amnesty to those here and their family in Mexico. Add them to the future welfare roles. Fortunately we'll become so broke they'll be immigrating back to where they came from.

Immigration is healthy for a nation if allowed in moderation. It enriches, however, there is an agenda of creative destruction, a push for eventual global government. Mass immigration from the 3rd world over decades changes the political landscape as you mentioned, lowers wages, dilutes the culture and financially burdens.

That term "delinquencies" is really quite perverted. It was used on me once by a collection agency. The user was calling from India or Sri Lanka, you know one of those call centres. Suffice to say that by the time I had finished educating his use of the word, he was also acknowledging the stupidity of his employment but such a deceptive entity.

skyding, the thing you dont mention is that only 60% of those eligible for Food Stamps are actually on it because it is much more convoluted to get food stamps then it used to be. hmmm 34 million is 60% of 56.6 million people ELIGIBLE to be on food stamps. Sure glad the recovery is here.
