  • I saw some people use this red, charge attack with squall, and this one where he slashes energy down like the thunder attack, sorry idk the names, I only see Japanese videos online.

  • This is a very nooby question but, in Squall's case, the HP attack is that one with the red circle or the rough divide and the brave attacks are the ones where you tap the O button, right? I've also noticed that people online use different moves than I have, like how he stabs the opponent in mid air multiple times, as well as on the ground. Is that a combo to be mastered? Or am I just not pressing the right buttons, also, how do people use thunder instead of ice? And get more HP skillz?

  • @Emrald70 You are misinformed. The dodge itself is all you need, the direction you choose to dodge does not affect if you get hit.

As stated in the video, EVERY HP ATTACK will darken the screen during an aerial chase. Please read the information in the annotations carefully.

  • i read somewhere u have to dodge a diffeent direction (with analog) depending on HP attack or not

is this true? if so what direction for what attack?

and do ALL the screens turn black when theyr using HP attack? could that be an indicator for you?

  • hey, so i got the game today, freaking awesomeness

i guess my last question is if theres a way other than going into ex mode to break up a combo?

like when i fought sepiroth he hit me and it did like 5 hits against me at once and i was wondering if there was a way to get out of that

  • There is no real way to break a combo other than going into EX Mode.

When you're caught in an attack, that's it, you're going to have to wait until the attack is done.

The key is to read your opponent and not get caught in their attacks.

You have guard and dodge for a reason, use them. lol

Also, alot of BP attacks can be blocked. (Every BP attack of Sephiroth can be blocked), Just be careful of the BP attacks that can break your guard. (i.e. Exdeath's Reverse Polarity)

  • hey, i know it was a while when you made these vids but i'm thinking of buying this game

to get this right, you get opponents bp to 0 which allows you to start reducing their hp, when their hp hits 0 you win?

  • You don't have to break your opponent first in order to do HP damage.

You start off with your "base" amount of BP from the start, you can use it right off the bat if you choose.

    Now here's your choices:

-Constantly HP attack, letting your BP regain to it's base BP. (Little damage builds up)

-Wait and break your opponent, giving you a big boost of BP, then HP attack (Few hits, alot of damage when you do.)

First one out of HP loses, don't let it be you. =P

  • @AzumangaFan13

does the game have a tutorial for all of this or are you just on your own? o.o

  • Unfortunately, the japanese version does not have a tutorial, just information screens.

This is all me from Replay data.

  • oh and i can use dodges to fly also right?because after i learnt how to dodge i was using it to fly away from opponents when they go into ex mode

  • Well...you are kinda "flying", just in short bursts in the direction you want to go.

If you want to Air dash away from your opponent, you need to equip Reverse Air Dash.

  • another question does the hp thing affect the opponent in a way?do I have to make it to 0/???? and have a hp attack on them to win?

  • Your BP tells you how much HP damage you will do to your opponent at that point in time.

Think of it like you are at a casino playing the slots.

You start with 1000 coins and you keep playing until you get about 736 left, 100 in winnings.

You could cash out, but you won't be happy.

You keep at it until you get the jackpot (Breaking your opponent), now you have 4754 coins.

If you were smart, you would cash out.

You have to "cash out" your BP to defeat your opponent.

    ^_^

  • Thanks for putting this tutorial but may I ask u a very small issued problem, which characther in the english version has a good chance of high damage and high combo?

  • Before i answer, every character has a variation of the "Hit-Damage" ratio.

Some characters who hit fast, like Onion Knight, deal little damage at a fast rate.

Then others, like Cloud, hit very little but racks up damage fast.

When it boils down to it, everyone has potential to be deadly.

SO, characters who combo well (In particular, those with alot of BP-BP or BP-HP attacks, and natural combos) will be:

WoL, Firion, OK, Cloud, Squall, Zidane, Tidus, CoD, Golbez, Sephiroth, Jecht.

  • firion i cant use him well becuz of his low ranged attacks and the villians i don't intend to use them because i don't want to waste pp or something zidane is one that i haven't try yet so which of this is better?

  • Zidane is a beast, period. He can be tricky to use, but once you get the hang of it, Zidane's attacks can leave your opponent's guessing. Don't be so stingy about your PP, you can always get more. Try out the villians, you might like Golbez.

  • hmmm i tried zidane his ex burst is hard to perfect and golbez i dont use him much and im just training heroes not villians i wanna get through all story modes first

  • Zidane's EX burst is pressing O a bit faster when each section is filled up.

(You'll notice the animation, he first starts off slow and slowly gets faster, same for your O button inputs)

I would recommend Onion Knight< Warrior of Light, and Bartz as a good main, easy to use nd great results.

I, personally, use Cloud. It's a simple strategy, let them come to you, and you kick their ass. ^_^

  • cloud is easy and i use him to get those chocobo items which can be used to get my lvl higher

i dont like onion knight for some reason and warrior of light is plain boring even though i got him into lvl 30 + in a month

  • Yeah, Cloud hits like a truck and he's really easy to use.

WoL and Onion Knight are a bit bland, but their better attacks are REALLY useful.

It's all about experimentation, try each one out and level up their basic BP attacks, you'll find that their BP-HP linked attacks are very punishing.

  • Exdeath can't really counter when he normal blocks beside Delta Attack. Even then you could probrably still dodge the attack. If he Uses one of his blocks he can easily punish you with more devastating attacks.

  • Yeah, any experienced Exdeath user is to be feared.

Especially in the NA version of Dissidia...

    O.o

  • humm excuse me, in the chasing, did you evade the HP attacks with the same button?? ( "X" )

  • Yep, all the dodging in the chase was done with the X button.

  • thanks, I'ma save up to buy English Dissidia now lol =D

  • Don't expect Exdeath to be a pushover in the English version........they REALLY jacked his AI and actually made him a challenge. Every lession still applies tho, just be more careful. Good luck, and master Dissidia. ^_^

  • Hey, whats that thing on 0:09 to 0:11 ?

I see that all the time but I dont understand what those things are. Oh and tell me the different kinds =D

  • That was a summon, and there are many different kinds with many effects.

I would gladly tell you all the summons and their effects, but since i only have a 500 Character limit in the comment box... (-__-;)

    You can google "Dissidia Summons"

or i'll just PM you a list.

  • Mkay, I guess you can just tell me when It happens and/or how to trigger it

  • There are "Auto" summons, that trigger themselves when certain conditions are met. (BREAK opponent, ect)

And there are normal summons, you simply press "Circle + R" and the Summon gets activated.

  • how do i perform dash??

  • on your abilities, when you get into a certain level, you unlock an ability that''ll have "Square + Triangle" (or vice-versa), that''ll be "Dash".

-Notice, there'll be 3 dash options.

    1) To Dash towards your target. (I perfer)

    2) To Dash away from your target. (Great for running away, but not perfered)

    3) To Dash in the direction you're moving in (Freedash, it's ok, but REALLY not reliable.)

  • tnx and i got my own dash

and i will w8 4 another tutorials of yours

    XD

  • i was about to post how do you dash untill i actually looked down in the comment box lol i caint wait for this game to come out in a few days im sooooo getting it! i've all ready pre orderd it thanks for these videos they will help alot!!!!! thank you

  • Square + Triangle? That's wrong, the dash is R + Triangle isn't it?

  • OH SNAP!

I must've been extremely tired when i wrote that....

  • o ok

  • good so there is a training mode.

  • Actually...there isn't a training mode, sorry...

Exdeath is (by far) the worst CPU in Dissidia, and it's easy to play with him for Tutorial vids.
