  • HEY HEY HEY, WHAT HAPPEN TO THE ENDING?, THERE'S STILL ANOTHER 20 SECONDS LEFT.

  • It's not just you! Music from the 70's was a thousand times better than music of today.

  • Is it just me or was the music better back in the 70's, it seemed to show more emotion, and love, we have become so selfish now. I hope we go back to this time, Michele.

  • Saddest song ever

  • I'm really should be glad but i'm bluer than blue, sadder tahn sad.

  • just love the lyrics, i.e. "after you go i'll have a lot more room in my closet, and after you go i'll stay out all night long if i feel like it....," simple things so overlooked or taken for granted until it really happens!

  • i still love you candize figueroa.

  • To my departed ladyfriend...Im bluer than blue...

  • Great job Michael Johnson. Those of you that don't appreciat it, find me today's music anything like the 70's. You can't !

  • She's gone...

  • a bottle of scotch.....memories...a night alone.

  • Always thought this guy was black. Good song.

  • I missed you so much lil brother

  • Never will

  • they dont make songs like these anymore why?

  • @allensubijano We've lost the passion in our music and our lives. Everyone is plugged into something or other... surely that is sucking the passion out of us one byte at a time... I know I'm old now cuz I wish things were "the way they used to be" :-(

  • Be glad the dame is gone, i don't trust a woman no further than i can pickup and throw the great pyramid at giza.

  • @barnabas50 same to be said for men.

  • what a gem he is and was. please sing again for us minnesotans. u were my first concert and i listened in pure awe. tx for the memories!

  • yes you don't know what you have untill she is gone then you fill like kicking your self

  • remindss me of my dead Gf--beaautifuls bittersweet song

  • Not to be disrespectful, but who else thought this song was sung by Eddie Rabbit?

  • Nice song, great hook.

  • Absolutely beautiful...

  • Man iam 22 years old again back in Vegas sitting at Friendy Ferggies bar. All i need is Judy to come and sit with me again. I sure miss you.

  • LOL This song reminds me so much of the late 70's. Johnson only had a handful of songs but they were really good.

  • very romantic song...im in love right this very minute...haaay

  • i luv this song .. so romantic.. ♥ 80`s song was the best !!

  • Great music...priceless.

  • I forgot what a good singer he was. Thats just good

  • This song foreshadows how I am going to feel once Mariano Rivera retires from the Yankees..... and I'm not even kidding.

  • They don't make them like this anymore and probably never will. 19 rappers hit the dislike button.

  • 70's, 80', nothing like it! I'm glad I've lived in them.

  • @lindalovesmusic1 yup, me too. No one sings like this anymore. Lyrics back them can pretty much express meaningful words.

  • @MrGthang I agree. Music had so much meaning back then, we could feel it, ya know?

  • @lindalovesmusic1 agreed - we didn't need alot of profanity in our music

  • @lindalovesmusic1 Some of the greatest heartfelt music came out during the 60's 70's and early 80's never be anything like them again.

  • @lindalovesmusic1 I'm with you on that. Those soft mellow love songs helped to mold a fraction of your character.

  • M J will be playing at an intimate venue in Sedon, AZ, Oct. 29th. Don't miss it!

  • I'm old school too - I cound'nt agree more

  • Was this video originally from the late 70s? It was one of the videos shown during MTV's first 24 hours on the air.

  • this song is what the 70's was all about. plain and simple.

  • always touched me this one.

  • i actually cried at this song... :'(

  • @PandFRocks me too... I really cried.. so deep..

  • I cry like a baby when he says "i'm Bluer than Blue. Sadder than Sad." poor man he is so sad Y_~

  • @silencia08 Really? He strikes me as a miserable, self-centered, narcissistic tool...

  • @andriakilgore I take this song to mean that he's trying to "convince" himself that he will be so happy once she's gone - all the freedom he'll have but deep down he knows he really misses/loves her.

  • @suebee3490 It's good to visit the past and remember good times, but we have to grow stronger from our loss not weaker.

  • @vitadude I agree with you in moving on but if we arre just talking about this song - he says "after" you're gone, which to me, means she hasn't quite left/moved out yet....so the emotions/feelings are still there and fresh. No matter what you break up with someone you love for, in the beginning, whether they cheated, there were money problems, whatever, you go back & forth from convincing yourself you are better off without that person to really hurting over losing them. Just my opinion

  • I think of my girlfriend who died recently--we were often at odds, but without her, I'm bluer that blue

  • I'm happily singing along,,Change the numbers on my telephone,but tonight ....

  • old but new for me i loved it so much <3

  • Old memories brings bright and good memory.

  • @GloriaTorio - Yes, this song brings anyone back! Especially when you haven't heard them in a long time.

  • @MMan1964 The bluer than blue song was compose by special musician, listening to this music invites special memories.

  • ladies choice, couples only skate.

  • I have absolutely been stuck on this song all week :)

  • Such a simple song. I don't know what year it was from. But the melody and lyrics were gread. It was influences by a progression of melodies since the 1930's or maybe earlier. Wt still have great songs and songwriters, unfortunately we only buy the 4 or 5 artists that are rammed down our throats by the corporate media. Have a listen to the Edge 102 in Toronto. Still some great music. Thank goodness..

  • my god. memories. and i'm old enough to have'em.

  • as we grow old. this song will be part of my life forever.. :)

  • This brings no joy to me. Sing- songy crap.Thumbs down!!

  • I absolutely love this song!

  • His soft little trill on the line "And when you're gone, I can run in the house screaming..." is truly one of a kind. Michael's voice is a classic, as is this song. I grew up in the 70's and still love it today.

  • A CLassic!! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!! ONE OF THE BEST SONGS FROM THE 80'S!

Why don't they write songs like this anymore????IT'S FAR BETTER THAN LADY GAGA'S

  • It was nice when VH1 & MTV played decent music & wasn't pre-occupied with reality shows.

  • RMA,

    im bluer than blue.

    make me red please.

  • I'm #954 and sometimes I listen to stuff like 'Paint Me a Birmingham' or ' Long Long Time' and start to think about what I had but don't have now. Then I listen to Crystal Bernard sing 'Have We Forgotten What Love Is?' and 'Love is Strong' by Paul Overstreet. Those songs remind me what real love is all about, like I Corinthians 13, and I realize I didn't nor couldn't lose the real thing.

  • ¬_¬ 17 people dont like blue

  • love love this song thought I'd never hear it again bring on them tears !!!!

  • old songs can drive your emotion crazy! can make u reminisce all day.....it can make u fell ok and sometimes help you to EMOTE hehe

  • I HAVE CRYED FOR LOST LOVE SO MANY TIMES OVER THIS SONG THAT IT STILL MAKES ME CRY AND NOW I AM LOOSEING MY WIFE FOR SHE NO LONGER LOVES ME. I DONT THINK I EVER REMEMBER BEING THIS SAD THOUGH.

  • Yeah... love it...

  • one of the saddest songs ever... it brings up all kinds of memories.

  • Fantastic... too bad it's such a short song

  • @VampirexXxPrincess24 i'm sorry bro to hear about your sister.. =(

  • so many empty rooms.....great song.

  • music angelica...you asked where have all the good ones (artists) , yep where ARE they?

  • too bad, it's just 2 mins and a half.. :| wonderful song... mom requested me to download this :)

  • After you go, I can get rid of this ugly a** flower pattern couch.

  • I dedicate this song to you Sis. So sorry you were called to heaven so young. Make room for me some day. Your Bro. El Paso Texas

  • @VampirexXxPrincess24 HEAVEN IS ALREADY FULL.. HELL WILL ACCEPT YOU.. GO THERE INSTEAD

  • great song.....

  • This was the 18th song played on the very first day my friends and i skipped school....uh i mean MTV aired ......Great memories....

  • I hope that I don't turn bluer than blue.....You never know how much you love someone until that love is threatened or questioned.

  • one of the saddest songs i know

  • for all the fans of fernando torres....

  • mandatory listening after a bad break up

  • @sirwob Well put! I can catch up on my reading!!! Lol....

  • great song

  • Comment removed

  • @22reTOYOTA Thats fantastic...But WHAT the HELL does that have to do with THIS SONG????

  • @mattdaddyful It was at a time in my life that I fell for a girl, But she did not fall for me.

  • @22reTOYOTA ok...I know how that is....Sometimes it can BE DEVASTATING...But happy to hear your ALIVE TODAY to TELL US...PEACE my Brutha

  • you should've tripped her XD

  • This is great !! Too bad the ending is cut off. So pretty !!

  • my friend had this tape of the great oldies.i played this song a lot

  • No flashing lights, bells or whistles... Just meaningful words and great singing

  • damn it Lisa, you'll never see this but I know its here

  • @sirwob

Yes we remember when this song came out. I was working at a grocery store that played it on the background music system. After I was fired, they kept playing it, brings tears to my eyes-digitally recorded music does not hold a candle to analog tape!

  • This was a good way to torture oneself when one was already depressed and feeling hopeless.

  • Glad I was born in 63...the best songs to grow up to,tv and movies and taste of food was better. Today is a joke! What talent?

  • @heebieandjeebie The Taste of food WAS better, anthe taste of food ong before we were born was even MORE falvorful. Today's food crops are bred against disease and tend to taste rather bland (red delicious apples might be really red, but they taste like sugar-water). And tyhe whoole thing about disease is kind of a joke, too. Bananas are almost totally monocultural and, having no genetic variation, are dying worldwide...

  • glad i was a young man in the 60's/70's, nice song

  • Deep Blue

When my little hands splashed in the cool clear water

My mother watched me smile as I saw the dreams float by

like fragile bubbles across the deep blue tile

The waters of my past now well up within me

so it begins to rain as I cry...and I am so blue...Blue as the stormy sky

    M.S. Morrison

  • @michaelsmorrison Wonderful poem, I lost my Mother a little over 2 yrs ago and I feel lost, I adored her, simply adored her. She was my best friend and she loved this song, as well as the B5-2's Love Shack, which we played at her memorial. Keep up the great work, Michele.

  • Classic ..Love it!!

  • I saw him play this in person in 1978. Excellent performer.

  • like like like ♥♥♥

  • i love this song <#

  • i always wanted michael johnson's song "i always love you" to have an original music video.. how i wish

  • thanks for posting.

  • Still miss you Lindy...

  • Touches me as much now as it did when I had the 45 of it in the 70's. Beautiful song.

  • This song always tugs my heart

  • I'm old school ~ i love it .

  • @BeyondKuo there is no school like old school. the stuff of today is pretty shallow. 70's were we generation, now its the me generation, sad.

  • @revwjh Actually, they called the 80's the "me" generation. And that was because Ronald Reagan taught people how to get ahead in this world no matter who you stepped on to get there. But yeah, sadly, the "me" generation has returned and it's all about burning whoever you need to, even your own mother, to get ahead. Sad..

  • @BeyondKuo ..am old school to i listen to lite soft rock 70s to 90s

  • God, I love this song.

  • such a sad but great song!!

  • Yeah, I remember this great oldie!.......Great song to relax too.

  • one of the 1st compilation of cruisin song

  • I've never seen this video before but this is exactly what I imagine whenever I hear this song. Who knew! :)

  • There was a Michael Johnson video of the man doing a different version of this. Where is that video?

  • On 105.7 the X. They rated this song in the top 10 sad bastard songs. laughed my head off.

  • the solo at the end takes it..

  • awesome song....no question about it

  • "And when you're gone, I can (and have) run through the house screaming and no one will ever hear me." C'est moi.

  • i love this song..reminds me of someone. hu..hu..

  • Just a classic!!

  • Great song, but I wondered how many people committed suicide after listening to it? Not alot of hope in this song.

  • this song just comforts me.

  • Seriously. How many of us sang this to ourselves after they left us? Rationalization is a great thing.

  • @auctionguyinmo I have 2 or 3 tasty rationalizations a day just to get by. As for the song....yeah, I did that...till I found out what a lowlife she was. Then I sang Already Gone.

  • talent skips a generation...sometimes 2 hee hee im only 15 but my aunt and dad listened to this and ccr etc. so i guess i grew up on it

  • WOW! what a teriffic song!

Got to say that i miss the good old days in music from the 70's and early 80's

  • There are no songs on the top 100 today that are crafted so well. This song was deliberate and impeccable in execution. The lyrics, the melody, the mixing, the orchestration .... everything. Why did we ever tolerate the decline in musicality in the 80s and after? Don't we deserve songs like this? Enough of the rap and techno.

  • great song

  • Another one of those "forgotten" songs. Which should never be forgotten. I wish radio stations would play endless hours of oldies.

  • @pabsk67 Radio programmers want to throw the fresh meat to the lions in the arena now. That's why all music today sounds hateful and terrifying. Rap is something people would not have tolerated thirty years ago. Ditto for death metal, punk rock, techno and the rest. People had better taste and less for an ear for punishment in those days. Music today is no different than S&M.

  • I remember when

    I feel today

    As I felt then!

Thank you for letting my heart remind my head!

  • I was 16 so was she. thirty years later I don"t know where she is now. I miss 1980.

  • @joey74722 Same here joey, my love was Linda Halle, I think she's in Vancouver now (I'm in Mississauga) and this song sums it up for me...and you? What's her name?

  • brilliant song

  • Me and Chris use to sing this song all the time....

  • Beautiful song!!! Makes me remember my childhood!!! Thanks for the upload!!! =)

  • a beautiful old song

  • Too bad that they cut off the nice ending to the song - it wasn't that much longer.

  • The present has just become the past. Enjoy all you can, while you can. Life is fleeting. Grab it and live it.

  • One of The Best Ballads from The 70's. The Year 1978 Exactly back Music was About Feelings and Talent.

  • This song will always make me think of my first love, one and only love, and soulmate T Jay Nelson. :-/

  • i remember the 80s everytime i hear this song!plenty memories to remember in the past, esp.during highschool life

  • THIS STILL MAKES YOU FEEL EMOTIONS....THE MARK OF A GREAT SONG....DB

  • This song was written by the same man who wrote "You Needed Me" for Anne Murray.

  • Awesome song! I love it!
