this hill is called the Widow Maker. i have gone up it on my crf 250 and yz450f 450. So if u have a 250 go try to go up this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The very first part of the hill is a bit sandy and steep but after that its alright.
a 2stroke 5, jawbone canyon, what more do you need. nothing like those hills or those bikes. ive been on 2 strokes up till 2 months ago and just got a new wr450 and regret to say it doesnt even compare. the wr handles great and has the smooth power but give me a clean 500 with revalved suspension and a stabilizer any day. have not been to jawbone in 20 years live up in bishop now. unbelievable beauty but we dont have hill climbs like that up here.

I have climbed that hill doezens of times, and it's always fun. The real trick is to ride down the same line you rode up. It's much steeper than it looks on video.
i gotta say i had the greatest time there...that green hill with the awkward lump on it (we call it nipple hill)is the place i camped at....right at the base
I usually park pretty close to where you described you were parked, unless I'm at Dove Springs. I was at Dove Springs November 12th, 13th, 14th. I'll probably be back out there this weekend or the next. This hill is real fun climb too, it sucked trying to climb it with a bald tire though.
i have been there so many times, you get no traction with that back tire, im impressed

I did that on my Yerf Dog 8hp, bogged a bit and had to rebuild the clutch afterwards.
