I only disliked and thumbed down this videos because there is nothing to like here, it's horrible and I feel so sorry for all the people that had to go through this. This video was shot by Mike Theiss....He shot the entire storm surge come into Gulfport and receeed over a 5 hour period. He is not using a stabilizer or anything, just skill in holding a camera steady.....

I don't see how this is any different from a Tsunami. I mean yeah, the origins are different but the effects sure seem the same. Also, I'll bet these storm surges travel as far inland as a lot of Tsunami's. Jesus, the weather you guys get back there can be horrendous. Earthquakes I can live with - winds that will blow your eyeballs out of your sockets...I'd probably shit my pants first time around. I tip my hat to your fortitude. You people have a lot of moxie.

Just got back from New Orleans, The damage is all around still. Its really weird to be driving and then see the whole side of a house missing, and seeing right into the bathroom with towels still on the shower racks... Covered in mold and a X on the front of the building... Very spooky seeing these ghost towns... Wasn't really emotionally sure what I felt. I felt bad, because in a way I was truly fascinated by it. It was real. not just on TV......Really have to see it to believe...

In these shots it is not 28 feet. It is about15 feet. This hotel is on a 12 foot hill. Its right on the beach but the highest point along the entire miss coastline. When it was a full 28 feet high the only shots i could get was out of my window while in the 5th floor.
