@danteisonutube I would prefer the Kindle because the touch screen on the nook is slow, e ink is slow, downloading is slow, formatting is slow, very thick, less battery power, and i personally dont think that the touch screen does not fit with the e ink screen.
Ok, so, question. As much as I love reading at night, I read any time of the day. How does it do in direct sunlight? Because, again, as much as I like reading at night, a back light causes problems in direct sun, (Ex: the psp. XD)
@KileahKitty the nook doesn't have back light, unlike the amazon kindle, so if u go on a vacation and go to the beach, u will still be able to read. it does just as well in sunlight as it does in a house. :) does that answer ur question?
i was gonna get a kindle 3 then i read it dosent have backlight!!!!!!!!!!! WTF! i like to read in the dark. lol so i immediately went to buying a nook im 13 and love to read so ill be buying in about 1 week
@BeryJensen First off, learn to speak.write. Secondly, Kindle hasnt been selling nearly as much as before, which only proves your precious Kindle is a piece of trash
Anyways, I have played with both the nook AND the Kindle 2 and I personally think the nook is just overall better. @crisco21c I could deal with that lol. I thought I would save money by going to community college, which I did, but they are more anal about book buy-backs and they like to sell books that are designed just for my college more so then the local state university near me.
@asdfqwer90 Heh, I'm a senior in high school now. A religious school here, St. Catherines, bought their entire school an iPad, one for each student. While the rest of the school district gets brand new Apple computers.
@crisco21c Yeah I've heard that a lot of private high schools have moved from giving a laptop to each student, to giving an iPad (or something equivalent) to their students.
very interesting. i would rather get an ipad. but considering that an ipad is about 3 times the price of this, this would probably be more convenient for some buyers.
@amplex007 Btw, the 'flickering' on the screen is e-ink technology. It isn't like a laptop lcd monitor and it's suppose to flicker. Thus is the reason why it doesn't use battery unless you're turing the page. With recent firmware upgrades, it turns a lot faster.
Also, the design isn't that bad compared to other ereaders out there. Personally the kindle is fail. Sony's is good but not a good selection of books. The 1million domain free books are outdated. Even the dead would be bored of.
I just barely got a Nook yesterday. I don't really understand why when I try to search for books it says there is an error and cannot connect. Do I really have to be in a Wi-Fi hotspot?
@chronodiver300 - ebook readers are supposed to be like books, so you need light to read them the same way as you need to read any book. Some people get clip-on light when they want to read in the dark.

@shamwow56 yeah its got wi fi for hot spots you know wireless .. . but then it also has an internet type function like cell phones, its really cool, i think its like global something. .. shit i cant remember the name
so now that you've had it a while...what do you think of the Nook?
I like it, and I was deciding between Nook and Kindle--- but I'm moving to Dominica, and I dont trust the 3G coverage on the island....I'd much rather have the speed of just a plain old wifi connection (which I will have...)
@MrSquitwet Nah not really, I like Ebooks, but I cannot read them on my laptop, thus I'm getting this thing ASAP :3. And @iGatorNation , it's not like her books are good anyways :\ I'm expecting thumbs down but oh well

i read with my laptop but i start to feel it heavy aftr a few minutes & i have to hide it in a big book looking home made cover. adn also i put some shaving blades on the fillet of it so when some one tries to steal it he gets cut ( it works)... so yup this option seems quite useful :) ..i still need the answer about pictures..tnx

Wow, not only is it great for avid readers like myself, but this would also come in handy for college. I wonder if you can purchase textbooks on it, as well.
Now all I need is some money and I'm set on buying it.
Nice video. I plan on getting one in January 2010. I was holding out for kindle3 but the nook was the first ereader to have the features that I wanted. Acutally I think kindle fell by the wayside here.
I'm amazed at how many journalist nook haters are out there.. they never give the full advances of the nook compared to the sony or kindle. yes it might be somewhat slow but when you put everything together it's worth it. Plus, kindle and sony didn't start without faults either. I'm buying the nook as soon it's available.

I'm buying the nook as soon it's available.

really very nice,
but
are all book already converted in electronic format?
I know that the holy bible and Harry Potter have surely a e-version.
but what about nice but not so commercial books?

I guess over 350+ views and no comments? Weird. Anywho, seems really nice, great video man!
