  • don't cut yourself

  • lol, aTtach a light? i think that thing would give off enough light

  • nook or kindle?

  • @danteisonutube get the nook kindles crap

  • @danteisonutube I would prefer the Kindle because the touch screen on the nook is slow, e ink is slow, downloading is slow, formatting is slow, very thick, less battery power, and i personally dont think that the touch screen does not fit with the e ink screen.

  • @Destrosalt ummmm..... you say e ink is slow, but the Kindle has e ink too.

  • @BlueRoan987 I mean the e-ink on the kindle is slow.

  • can u do anything on the internet on tht? or can u only go onto barnes and noble website?

  • i jus bought one today, but i gotta wait til christmas to use it...

  • is it easy to use?

  • Alot of cool features but that laggy lcd screen drives me insane. Have they made it scroll smoothly yet?

  • If this reader had the high contrast e-ink kindle has and was a little more quick it'll be the best reader ever!

  • Does it support .PDF?

  • @xBchify yes

  • @WLAIP Do you have it? If you have, is it worth buying?

  • @xBchify yes it was all worth it wayyy better than kindle i will make a review video

  • @WLAIP THANKS!

  • turn this guy on lol

  • Ok, so, question. As much as I love reading at night, I read any time of the day. How does it do in direct sunlight? Because, again, as much as I like reading at night, a back light causes problems in direct sun, (Ex: the psp. XD)

  • @KileahKitty the nook doesn't have back light, unlike the amazon kindle, so if u go on a vacation and go to the beach, u will still be able to read. it does just as well in sunlight as it does in a house. :) does that answer ur question?

  • @KileahKitty you can go to amazon website and search kindle and read up on it

  • @KileahKitty it does great in sunlight no glare!!!

  • does it fit in your pocket

  • I could've read the whole first chapter in the time that it took to format, hehe.

I think I would rather stick the the old fashioned style of reading :)

  • Nook!!!!

  • i was gonna get a kindle 3 then i read it dosent have backlight!!!!!!!!!!! WTF! i like to read in the dark. lol so i immediately went to buying a nook im 13 and love to read so ill be buying in about 1 week

  • Comment removed

  • that looks super slow

  • @mrdevecseri Its actually alot faster than the kindle

  • can u download books from amzon on to the nook

  • @jcwjenn1 nope - but a ton of other places :D

  • @jcwjenn1 no, but theres a LOT more of a selection than amazon, Barnes and Noble will order the book in for you if they dont have it.

  • Its loooks very slow and cumbersome handle this nerd thing.Amazong reader have a style and much much better ergonomic.Another crappy android thig.

  • @BeryJensen First off, learn to speak.write. Secondly, Kindle hasnt been selling nearly as much as before, which only proves your precious Kindle is a piece of trash

  • @Sabrina902 LOL "learn to speak write."

  • @LovesATB Umm, right not write. No offense!

  • @Sparrowsong83 I was quoting what he said, he spelled it wrong lol ;p

  • Ewwww dude you have an Acer...those are horrible!

Anyways, I have played with both the nook AND the Kindle 2 and I personally think the nook is just overall better. Theres just things that the Kindle 2 screws up on/falls short of that the nook doesnt. Some people are all like "Yeah well Kindle is better cuz you can get on the internet with it and post on Facebook!"

Uhmmm...hello? Use a laptop? Or even better, your cell phone?

Like the world wants to know what you're reading right?

  • @Sabrina902

What is an acer? LMFA0 IM SORRY IM SO STUPID xDD!

  • @Jenny2238 His laptop lol.

  • I pissed off right now. I bought a nook and after a couple hours of reading noticed it was down to 88%% battery life. 10 days my ASS. More a day and a half ifyou leave it on. They lied to me...

  • @Nopartyforme1 its probably because the wifi or 3g is on. its 10 days with wifi and 3g turned off

  • Good simple video.

  • does it work in Canada?

  • my mate is going to the U.S soon and might pick one up for me. can anyone comment if sales tax is included in the price i saw online? it's a bit different here in aus

  • i just bought one today!!! and it comes in that pakaging and it is at best buy!!!

  • that looks nothing like the packaging my nook came in!

  • hahaah those things are so hard to open..

  • uglharr1son no i was a few dollars short so im getting it 2morrow

  • I hope e-readers become successful with college textbooks because of these cost about as much as one of my textbooks.

  • @asdfqwer90 tuition would cost a few hundred less.

  • @crisco21c I could deal with that lol. I thought I would save money by going to community college, which I did, but they are more anal about book buy-backs and they like to sell books that are designed just for my college more so then the local state university near me.

  • @asdfqwer90 Heh, I'm a senior in high school now. A religious school here, St. Catherines, bought their entire school an iPad, one for each student. While the rest of the school district gets brand new Apple computers.

  • @crisco21c Yeah I've heard that a lot of private high schools have moved from giving a laptop to each student, to giving an iPad (or something equivalent) to their students.

  • @asdfqwer90 Yep but now they'll have to pay an extra technology fee of $400, to cover the iPad, which is no problem for them I'm sure. >:/

  • very interesting. i would rather get an ipad. but considering that an ipad is about 3 times the price of this, this would probably be more convenient for some buyers.

  • @chrisw491 dont get an ipad if its for reading dude

  • I find the flickering really annoying. I would rather endure shorter battery life in order to allow a smoother animation.

  • it would have been nice to compare the size with, uh, I dunno, a book? lol

  • kool nook i hope i get a nook for my birthday which is 2morrow

  • @BXVICTOR did u get it?

  • Good stuff. I might just consider this.

  • I just barely got a Nook yesterday. I don't really understand why when I try to search for books it says there is an error and cannot connect. Do I really have to be in a Wi-Fi hotspot?

  • @ChibiPawszz No something is wrong with your wifi or your nook has a defect

  • they arent sold out

  • @itzsabine1996 This video was made in 2009. He did say they might come back out 'next year' so technically, this year.

  • I bet you get tired of getting asked if that's an iPad.

  • Is it true that the text is not back lit?

Just got one and its entirely unusable in the dark.

    What gives?

  • @chronodiver300 - ebook readers are supposed to be like books, so you need light to read them the same way as you need to read any book. Some people get clip-on light when they want to read in the dark.

  • LOL! I like how your didn't compare your nook with the iCrap, i mean iphone.

5/5 for your unpackaging and review

    1/5 for your voice

  • "hey what's up..". I like your voice..are you high? you must be pro-legalization there in that hippi state California

  • @acenspades You must be a faggot. Also learn to fucking spell.

  • How do you like it now that you've had it awhile? I'm hoping to buy one this week.

  • i have an orange backing and pictures of my family on it etc. Your own music etc its all really cool

  • thats exactly what mine looked like when i got it, damn it was so flippin hard to open i thought i was going to break the fucker in half! but i love the nook, and there are alot of possibilities as far as customizing your nook its fun, but i say again it was a BITCH to open

  • @kellina84 Does it have internet.

  • @shamwow56 yeah its got wi fi for hot spots you know wireless .. . but then it also has an internet type function like cell phones, its really cool, i think its like global something. .. shit i cant remember the name

  • at first, i thought a mechanic book was dumb and they went too far with technology, but now I really see how this could be useful(: thank you.

P.S. Does it come in different colors?

  • @videopeeps1234567898 Did you just say mechanic book? I think you mean electronic. This thing doesn't run off of gears and moving parts idiot.

  • who cares, i have an ipad!

  • soo gonna get this!

  • Speed is key. This is shit slow.

  • is this available in other countries too?

  • pfft i got my ipad :P

  • I was considering kindle but I heard that it sucks, so I think I'm going to go with the B&N Nook

  • @zoppe122 that is a good choice the nook out rates the kindle and has better features.

  • @lctboy yea, i think I am, the kindle doesn't do very much and the nook, like you said, has very many good and useful features

  • to me the sony e reader is better than this one

  • EDIT!!!! LOL

  • I have two questions:

1} How much does it cost?

2} how much does the books cost?

    sorry, acually 3 q's

3} does this thing stop you from going to the accual bn store? if so, how do i convince my mother to get me one?

  • @Nailgirl4real Go to BN . com you also pay taz sense BN have stores in every state. Amazon only pay tax on ebooks if you live in California.

  • so now that you've had it a while...what do you think of the Nook?

I like it, and I was deciding between Nook and Kindle--- but I'm moving to Dominica, and I dont trust the 3G coverage on the island....I'd much rather have the speed of just a plain old wifi connection (which I will have...)

  • This thing is a piece of crap, mine kept freezing

  • ipad is better!

  • Love my Nook... by far the best one.

  • Does anyone know why J.K Rowling didnt put harry potter books on ebooks? :/

  • @iGatorNation

Because eBooks are stupid... her words, as well as mine.

  • @MrSquitwet Nah not really, I like Ebooks, but I cannot read them on my laptop, thus I'm getting this thing ASAP :3. And @iGatorNation , it's not like her books are good anyways :\ I'm expecting thumbs down but oh well

  • @jdills1196

Why don't you just read real books? Why E-Books?

  • @MrSquitwet I do read real books, BUT I have over $500 of ebooks I got from people (Or else I wouldn't bother :3)

  • This thing would be good if it wasn't so slow. That tapping the screen with a 3second delay is so annoying

  • i read its slow as $#!t!

  • should i get one? i aint a ebook person (got ipod touch :P) i want one for hacking :D

  • how does this device works with images?

i read alot of art drawing books ,learning to draw and wood sculpting books.

    so i wonder.

can you upload some books that contain images?

let me know if you do.. thanks bro

  • @rangyui

Dude, are you seriously suggesting that you're interested in reading "art" books on an e-reader? Man, go use REAL books. This e-reader crap is just another retarded fad.

  • @MrSquitwet

    mmm yup!!. :D

i realy need to do that #1 for the size and weight of each book #2 because i travel everyday 2hrs from home to work and 2hrs back.

i read with my laptop but i start to feel it heavy aftr a few minutes & i have to hide it in a big book looking home made cover. adn also i put some shaving blades on the fillet of it so when some one tries to steal it he gets cut ( it works)... so yup this option seems quite useful :) ..i still need the answer about pictures..tnx

  • I went to Barnes & Noble yesterday and this guy showed us how it works and stuff. If you take into Barnes & Noble, it connects to the wi fi and you can get more free books. I really like it

  • can you upload music from itunes? or what if you put cds into your computer and downlosd them?

  • thats not even small

  • How small do u need it to be

  • yea, its smaller than the kindle.

  • I see that the nook has a headphone jack. Can it read the book to you like the Kindle? If so, does the voice sound all "robotic" like the Kindle?

  • @parKb5 it does not have text to speech, at least yet. But you could put audio books on it.

  • im so glad u showed it next to the phone!

i have the same phone, so i can just compare it :)

  • do u know f u can download magazines such as, Vibe, XXL, Urban Ink, or High Times?

  • if they have those at the Barnes & noble site or store then probably

  • @mnguyea Haha! I was just about to post a similar

comment... n then i read yours! lol Couldn't agree more

  • @mnguyea That flickering isnt as bad on a Kindle. Just check out the Kindle reviews here on youtube.

  • @mnguyea

Btw, the 'flickering' on the screen is e-ink technology. It isn't like a laptop lcd monitor and it's suppose to flicker. Thus is the reason why it doesn't use battery unless you're turing the page. With recent firmware upgrades, it turns a lot faster.

Also, the design isn't that bad compared to other ereaders out there. Personally the kindle is fail. Sony's is good but not a good selection of books. The 1million domain free books are outdated. Even the dead would be bored of.

  • it looks like an iPod box

  • Thank you so much for this post! I spent about 5 minutes trying to open my Nook before finding this video.

  • Should i get this or the spring design alex e reader?

  • @Lawtsy15 this. that other one looks awkward

  • Nook is a lot better than kindle. Face that fact.

  • @PieRules246 It's a lot slower too, as you could see in the video....

  • does the screen refresh like the video shows each time u turn the page? That seemed really odd - I guess I'm used to the Kindle for PC and the B&N E Reader where it just slides easily from page to page. Nice video. Enjoy.

  • nook is amazing. congrats on your new toy!

  • Kindle 4 life

  • Kindle fo life!

  • got that same magazine.

    wired ftw :)

  • no one on these seems to realize that to open the clear packaging, read the instructions they include in the brown cardboard!

also, nook is not sold in stores.

  • it is sold in stores

  • nook will be avail in B&N stores for purchase.

  • omg i have the same netbook

  • retail packaging = hard to open lol

  • i would not want a nook. even though the bottom screen is off when u r reading, it would still be very distracting KINDLE 2 ALL THE WAY!

  • is Very, very slow, i just buy a Kindle for spain because it´s work in spain, this model, only work in USA...

    I prefer the kindle!

    Good VIdeo, 5 Stars!

  • Lol there is a kindle add on my screen as i watch this video

  • wow lol. im deciding between this and the kindle. what do you think i should get?

  • kindle

  • this

  • @willard1300h

Nook, it has a lot more features and is better designed. I'm biased though.

  • @willard1300h Go for the Kindle. It's a lot faster. Refreshing pages and turning on the nook gets annoying after a while...

  • the kindle isn't as good. the nook is better at multitasking and it has a bigger screen and a touch screen.

  • edit!lol

  • i ordered mine on november 9 and they keep pushing my delivery date back. first dec 11 then dec 21 now it jan 20!!! i cant believe it!!! but i am still keeping it just to be sure .. does anyone else have this problem?

  • I have used the Nook and it is not slow as in the reviews you have all seen. I am not sure which Nook you tried but perhaps it had old software. I was expecting it to have horrid page turning but it really doesn't.

Best surprise of the year. I adore it

  • Good Video

  • The packaging and the design is very nice. But the device is toooooo slow!

  • Page turning is really slow, even for an eReader. Otherwise it looks pretty nice.

  • Recommending search words 'KP BAG'!

    If you're BRUCE LEE's fan...

    Thank you for yours................

  • excellent work!

  • How do you put pdf files on the nook? how is the pdf support? where do you put the extra microsd cards?

  • Interesting. I still prefer to read novels and others works in paper form. Low-tech sometimes is the best. Interesting, though.

  • Wow, not only is it great for avid readers like myself, but this would also come in handy for college. I wonder if you can purchase textbooks on it, as well.

Now all I need is some money and I'm set on buying it.

  • Nice video. I plan on getting one in January 2010. I was holding out for kindle3 but the nook was the first ereader to have the features that I wanted. Acutally I think kindle fell by the wayside here.

  • thanks for taking the time to do the nook video! Good job...

  • I'm amazed at how many journalist nook haters are out there.. they never give the full advances of the nook compared to the sony or kindle. yes it might be somewhat slow but when you put everything together it's worth it. Plus, kindle and sony didn't start without faults either. I'm buying the nook as soon it's available.

  • decent video...could of gone more into the nooks navigation

  • really very nice,

    but

are all book already converted in electronic format?

I know that the holy bible and Harry Potter have surely a e-version.

but what about nice but not so commercial books?

  • MORE NOW

  • I guess over 350+ views and no comments? Weird. Anywho, seems really nice, great video man!
