Russia joined the war AFTER the americans, the only reason hitler even went to russia was because he was running from the allies ( at this point in the war the allies were led by American, Canadian, and British generals ) the only reason the russians lost so many people is because they thought it was a good idea to send half there men in without guns in some of the most important parts of the war in russia ( Stalingrad, Red square etc)

They had perfectly placed artillery, machine gun nests, mortars bombarding from both sides. The Marines continued, taking inch by inch even in the face of seeing thousands of their brothers slaughtered. It's not about the number of men, its about the heart and courage of those men. I'm glad my Uncle didn't live to see his beloved Rolls Royce getting owned, literally now, by BMW. I'm not sure who won, but Bert, didn't lose to Jack.

Russia fought the germans off with bravery and russian blood, however the allied bombing campaign forced the germans to build fighters instead of attack aircraft which aided the russian effort a lot. Also they bombed rail, road and bridge infrustructure, and german factories.

Hitler sent the biggest ever army to campaign in history against Russia: 2,700,000 men and his best weapons. In France he had less than 300,000 to defend the 1 million allies attacking him. Had Hitler sent in the western front 2,700,000 + the 300,000 = 3,000,000 Germans I doubt the allies would do anything about it given that even the tourists (Germans in France) resisted harshly.
The Russians are 100% right to say the WWII was won only in Russia nowhere else.

The Russians "Tactical plan" was to throw swarms of men with armor behind it and massively out numbering the Germans. The western front was more complicated and required more infantry then armor. You are right in what you say.Stalin cared nothing about his citizen army(at the start of Hitler's invasion).After he killed off all his Generals etc,it came down to human cannon fodder.While he built up his forces which he could not have done without the U.S. Lend Lease policy,which Canada contributed a large amount aswell.Every country done it's share of atrocities,mine included(I'am Canadian)But without a doubt the Japanese were the worst,to many to mention.
