I have done this myself with my videos when I fly. It requires a steady hand to tape take offs. I love the music too so original. You are great. You have to watch out though when you do this video they say video recording or any electronics might interfere with the airplane electronics. Kind of scary too.
Great video. Thanks for sharing it with us. I cannot stop watching these videos. They bring back so many good memories. I love them. These videos have become precious over time. Those times will never come back. Pan Am Airlines was the best and we all miss it a lottttt in our family. We love you Pan Am. We love you. We love you.
Every year during the 1970s, my Grandparents flew to Honolulu on a Pan Am 747 from Seattle for their vacation. As kids, we used to see them off and welcome them home at the S gates. And I dreamed of the day I would be able to fly to Hawaii on such a big plane from SeaTac. That never happened.
@Dimension150 Yeah I hear you man. It's so pathetic that instead of spacious aircraft like 747's, DC-10's, L-1011's, we get narrow bodied aircraft which are crowded and suck compared to those old graceful airliners.
June 20 1986, when for the 2 time i was in commercial airliner and was PanAm 747 from Rio to NYC. 2 years later was PanAm again take me back home for vacation. No one cant take this fantastics memories from us, flight on PanAm 747.
Nice video. Brings back memories. I used to work for PanAm in Brussels. One day Flight PA90/91 introduced the 747 on the JFK/BRU/AMS/JFK route and we were treated to a ride between BRU and AMS. It was awesome. On the return trip I took a "Delta Airtransport" flight to Antwerp. Believe it or not this flight was operated by an old DC 3. What a contrast it was !!! Thanks for posting this video
I remember how exciting it was to see and ride on the first jumbo jets---The C5 and the Pan Am 747. I took my first ride on the PA 747 just 6 months after being brought into service. Heathrow to JFK, July 1970! I ended up being a lowly C5 flight engineer for the USAF logging over 7000 hours during my career. Memories now.
I remember seeing these Pam Am 747's at Sea-Tac Airport at around 1989-90. Do times fly by...isn't Iran Air the only airline left in the world now that still flies the old -100's as passenger jets? Most of these planes were built in like 1970-71
I remember flying on Clipper Rambler from Istanbul to JKF in June 72. 10 years later I was flying on a Pan Am L1011. As I walked throught the JFK Pan Am terminal I saw Clipper Rambler there and took a picture of it. I imagine that airplane is now a lot of beer and soda cans.
Willie - thank you so much for posting this. I am not embarrassed to say that it made me cry a little. It brought back so many memories of trips that I had on Pan Am. You may not be the first - but you are one of the original plane spotters! There are 1000's of plane vids, but this one is very special. It may be the only one of its kind (on the web). The power up would be cool - but this is pretty awesome.
Thanks again - you made my day. I will watch this video often.
One more thing. PA pilots (as I have said in other posts) were without a doubt the best. Very cheeky how the pilot on this flight makes an immediate banking left turn just after take off - on a perfectly clear day. If I recall, in Rio - there is no need to bank like that so soon... They always did things in style.
I am not a pilot but after the start on that runway in GIG and going to EZE you have to make a right turn to go in the direction Rio and over the beaches heading south
EZE is my home airport, and I have to say it's very frustrating seeing it in the same conditions than the actual days. This vid was taken more than 20 years ago.. I you can do a lof of things in that period of time.
The great glory days of airline travel died with Pan Am.
