Elton John has made many memorable albums, sung countless classic songs...but for me, he never surpassed the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road LP. It is, in my opinion, his absolute masterpiece, the album that ensured he would never be a two-year wonder in the eyes of critics, fans and record executives.

damn dude, why isnt dave featured in guitar mags more often, hes incredible, his work on this and love lies bleeding is amazing, and i have a feeling it had something to do with the great success of YBR, so he deserves some credit.

@01Moo All the lead vocals, harmony vocals, and acoustic guitar in this IS from the original version. Was really a treat when this came out to hear the acoustic guitar parts which were highly EQ'd, added and panned in the original version. Nice to hear what Davey's parts were before mixing.,

Sounds like the album track with most of the instruments removed... The DVD 'classic rock albums, yellow brick road' goes into great detail on the backing vocals, much recommended.
