Becoming a fighter pilot is simple . The only qualifications are vision, a bullshit degree and white in color. I was in the Navy for 9 years. I only saw 1 back fighter pilot my whole time. When Topgun made a fighter pilot so popular in the mid to late 80's the Navy saw a B.S. way to increase the requirements for this job. Back in the day, the only requirement was an associate degree, vision and you being a white man. Alot of guys in the rag knows this but they won't say.

@yankee2013 I'm not going to come on here and put down Ed Rush and his website. But anyone who wants to be a fighter pilots should think long and hard about it. The needs of the Navy always come first. Secondly, One should try and get prior experience in flight training, atleast get your private. Next get a 4 yr degree in something and hope for the best. Go to OCS and hope you get going down the right road. Rush knows that you simply can't follow his course and become a fighter pilot.

@Vermen1 If this is a scam then so is every consulting firm in the world. If someone has experience and wishes to share it to help others get ahead, then it only makes peoples' lives better. It's easy to sit at a keyboard and take pot-shots at an individual who has served this country and made something of himself but it takes real work to actually to your homework and figure out what this program is about.

hey I also wanted to be a pilot and was filling out the application form for the RAF. Unfortunately I have mild symptoms of asthma and was not allowed to complete the form. now I have to let my dream go. I keep thinking of it and I can't handle it. any suggestions. can't I be a pilot for short haul routes.

Nope. Its something like 20/50 minimum far sight uncorrected and 20/20 nearsight uncorrected. I think thats what it is anyway.

no glasses or contacts allowed, you would have to get eye surgery. I talked to a recruiter.

So if I have 20/200 vision now and get the eye surgery in or before college to correct my vision to 20/20 I wouldn't get disqualified for my vision.

yes, surgery is now allowed for fighter pilots in the air force. but make sure you get it through the military and not on your own or you will be disqualified. i believe that this is only true for the air force though, not for navy.
