long time ago my family culture in the northern vietnam hunted and ate elephant,my father sometimes at young ate elephant and his father created weapon for hunter, my grandfather was killed by ax under comunist take care over north vn, my father return vn after 5yrs lived in usa, he brough an ax match with the port gift from vistor, he used ax to cut down the tree only, do you have any advice for my story?
@muskaanrocks21 but neither can u take care of yourself, why should we believe in u, what u say? And we rn't even asking why u r questionin something u don't intend believing in? It is about our belief. what's your problem? atleast no one here is killing or insulting any one.
@muskaanrocks21 , that isnt mean, glad u asked :) hindus dont worship the statue as such, but the divinity represented by the statue. there r many reasons behind that. 1 of these is, that everything humans have a close relationship with has a form and name (mother, father, friends etc.), so the statue helps the seeking mind to see infinity through finity (or in other words: the formless through the form). there are other reasons 2, but dont want to preach. just happy u asked ;) love and peace.
in hinduism there is a sloka..dat GOD u r omnipresent but i m a human and subject to human limitations and hence am building a statue as a symbol of your presence.
we often gv gifts to lovd 1s to show love...jst as v gft lord to show love to him...coz v believe him as a human and our loved...its just d love for God..
such things r subjective....if u think its statue..it is... if u think that is a representation of the Omnipresent....it is..!!!
@muskaanrocks21 glad you asked this question, have you seen air??? no, of course. still how can you say something named air exists??? bcoz you feel it, ignoring science, you still can feel, enjoy and 'energize' yourself by fresh air. It's not an idiocity but a belief a faith... i know that these idols can't even care for themselves!!! , but its our strong faith that sees Ishwar in this idol. This strong faith keeps on increasing and a day come when actually God comes out of these stones.
Thats a nice question as humans we need someone or something to place our faith in put our belief in, hoping if we give "it" all our devotion then may be "it " will come to us in out time of need. Some ppl pray a book some rocks. We a "statue" hope this ans. your question
@muskaanrocks21 the statue is not a physical entity. It has a symbolic meaning. The human mind understands an abstract idea like god. This idea becomes easier to understand if you had something more concrete than just an abstract idea. The concept of using statues is that the human mind can focus more easily on a physical entity than an abstract concept like God. Otherwise, channeling your thoughts towards the idea of God becomes more difficult.
there is a sanskrit sloka which describes that..God u r omnipresent..but I am a human and subject to human limitations..hence I believe this idol to be your image....However, like other things Idol gets dusty if nt cleaned regularly...so it is cleaned..but since it is perceived as image of God, it is cleaned with gr8 dvotion..It is a hindu belief to thank God and nature for providing him food..just as othr religions..but since v believ dat idol is image of God v serve hn 1st..
Thank you all so much for posting a link to Sri Siddhivinayak ji. I have been worshiping Ganapati for many years. I would like the words of the siddhivinayak aarti. I will be grateful if somebody can take the time to publish the entire maha aarti for this devotee.

Yes friend...good point....i agree.....but just try convincing the present anti hindu Indian govt of this fact.....unfortunately, the truth is that the govt is hell bent on destroying hindu culture and dharma!
