  • jøss !! Norsk-amerikanere er mer intereressert i folkemusikk og tradisjoner enn nordmann flest! Great!!

  • Do you know what the first tune is??

  • @NatureLover987

The first tune is "Homslien", a gangar from Setesdal played by Vidar Lande.

  • Wow.. The music, the clothes, the dancing.. And those girls actually sang in Norwegian! Veldig vakkert :) Eg e imponert!

  • Amazing. I´m a norwegian, and to see an association for one of our cultural monuments in America is astounding :) You all play and dance well aswell.. Amazing video.. I guess, only in America ? :D

  • Right off the bat, I LOVE the video. Love just getting our fabulous stuff out there and maybe catching the eye and ear of non-initiates. And I am extremely biased, of course! Constructively...

I wish the quality were better. It's pretty grainy.

I also think that given the target audience, more subtitles would be helpful to let viewers know what they are watching (e.g. Allspel, Valdresspringar, Advanced HF class with Vidar Lande, Telespringar, Singing group, Student Showcase, etc.)

  • If you like Hardanger fiddle (hardingfele in norwegian) this is THE workshop to go to in the United States. Great for fiddlers to learn and connect with others, fabulous for dancers. The evening parties offer dancing of all the regions in Norway. Many of the scenes in this workshop come from the annual showcase where workshop participants perform for each other.
