Clinton's absurd viscious attacks on Obama's innocent, though poorly phrased, statement damaged HER even more than her lies on Tuzla, her private statements about taxes contradicting her public ones, her lies about the dead pregnant woman, etc.
People see through her gratuit negative attacks, and realize that her presidency would be 4 years of exactly that, and nothing would get done for us.
I don't think Obama can bring about any change anymore than any of the other candidates. He speaks of change as if he can just wish change/peace/prosperity into existence. He's just another wishy washy politician like the rest of them, power hungry for the prize of being President.
If he really knows the needs for rural communities, he will not blame that these people cling guns and religions as their hope instead of him for his failure to attract these voters.
Hillary Clinton is a congenital liar who will do anything to get into office, including destroy her party's chances for winning the white house this November. She knows nothing other than self love and a hunger for power.
Personally? Obama hit the nail on the head with his 'bitter' comment. He gained ground with me for being at least somewhat honest. Hillary is obviously an authoritarian power hungry woman with a victim complex. The last thing we need is a censor in the white house.
Hillary just nuked her own campaign last week. What a fool she was. Her supporters are getting kicked off left and right. Super-delegates are raining down on Obama. It's looking better and better every day. Obama '08 Change, peace, unity, hope!
Sometimes I'm just not sure what Obama stands for. It's very easy to talk about change but change doesn't always come easy and it comes with a price. Obama throws change in the wind as if he commands it. I'm all for change especially something better but I don't think anyone especially Obama will move a rock if he's elected president he is standing on too many giants to be authentic.
Obama just isnt ready to be president. He only has two years of experience, spend half of his life fundraising in a church with a crazy proctor, and had a drugged history.
I find it amazing how the Obama campaign did not QUICKLY put out an AD when Hillary "misspoke" about her Bosnia experience three different times; yet Hillary's camp was so quick to put out an AD against Obama. She mentions McCain and herself as being "patriots" while leaving Obama out. Is Hillary really wishing for McCain and the Republicans to win if she does not; this has to be the reason for the negative campaign. I think Hillary's camp need to slow down with negative Ads.
How much clearer could it be that Hillary Clinton screwed up BIG time, if her own SUPPORTERS go on national television and reject her positions.
We've had enough of these empty attacks and character assassination attempts. Remember her absurd rant ("Shame on you Barack Obama") becuase of some FACTUALLY ACCURATE literature he distributed?
She doesn't change, she's still dodging sniper fire.
Obama was flying coach and still paying his student loans when Hillary was in the White House defending herself form Watergate, busy pretending she didn't know about Lewinsky and dodging sniper fire at photo-ops with 8 year old children.
Clinton is out of touch, and has been for many years. Obama is as close to being one of us as a President can come.
Elites are not better than the rest of US...WE, the people are smart enough and should decide what goes on...you can say they're better than you but don't speak for the rest of us
Obama was brought up by a single mom in a third world country. He RECENTLY finished paying his student loans, and until not too long ago he drove himself to work and flew coach.
Everything about him is SO the opposite of elitist! No wonder Clinton's polls dropped when she started this absurd line of attacks!
People simply see clearly that IT IS NOT TRUE. Clinton, as usual, is lying.
I saw Chelsea Clinton recently while she was campaigning for her mom, and someone asked why Hillary was more deserving than Obama when it came to the Presidency, and how seriously the two candidates were different on the platform level. Her answer was essentially "healthcare", but anyone who sides with Hillary on that one (individual mandate) as opposed to Obama (available public healthcare but only enforced with children) SERIOUSLY needs to educate themselves.
The truth is that they are so similar in the issues, that that really is a silly reason to vote for one over the other. Whatever Health Care Bill that ends up passed through congress will almost certainly turn out to be different from what either candidate says he or she wants- because congress gets to decide. The important thing is to have a pres. who will listen to others about the issue- and that's Obama.
Hillary's healthcare plan failed in 93. Does anyone seriously think that same plan is going to get passed this time with full Republican support? Obama's at least has a better chance by not being mandatory.
No, sarahkinzz -- its FAR WORSE than that. IF you research Hilary's role in 1993, you'd find that she actually killed a popular Congressional bill for universal care in order to prop up her own feeble plan. Of course, that was with a Democratic house, before the Clintons cut taxes and bumbled their way into the 1994 mid-term defeats.
Ouch ! That's gotta hurt Hillary. Fresh poll out today shows that Bittergate hasn't harmed Obama in PA. I think Clinton's numbers are going to drop over the next week.
all this "bitter" comments are much to do about nothing, this will all blow over and won t have legs in the general, people are too concerned about their own lives to care about all this political crap
Obama an elitist. This is the funniest thing I've ever heard during this whole campaign. An African American who has climbed the ladder from the bottom up, raised by a single parent and who went to college with student loans and worked as a community organizer with churches. If he is an elitist then I must be Donald Duck.
Another scorch earth attack by Sen. Clinton will only drive up her negatives in a general election. She has to be wary of the fact that she isn't all that popular, and that if she's the nominee, she will drive out all the GOP supporters to vote AGAINST her.
I'm convinced anyone who would vote for Hillary has mental issues or is just totally uninformed. I mean, she has run a horrible campaign and all of her "experience" is failed eperience.
Oh yeah, I almost forget. She lies to our faces over and over again. Why is that not a huge story on the news? Might have worked before the broadband lady, but not anymore.
At best she might have played ducker hunter on nintendo.
Yeah, I can feel the forgiveness flowing (NOT) to Obama over several days of news' cycles for his "bitter" comment. In the meantime, Hillary got a (relative) pass on her lie/misstatement about "sniper fire" that she told three different times, and the contradictions in her foreign policy now vs. her husband's and by implication, hers, when he was PREZ. Go to church recently Hillary? Shoot a gun recently Hillary? Had many ELITIST advantages in your life Hillary, YES!!! Who's getting a pass?
Hear, hear....well said. I think it is laughable that Clinton and McCain call Obama an elitist. They obviously have forgotten where he came from, thankfully Obama hasn't.
I respect Obama more and more. His reasoning stands close scrutiny, he's on the mark, he's real. And he doesn't fight dirty. I was an unabashed [Bill] Clinton supporter. Now I am disgusted. Hillary (and the Republicans who depend on her for their economic and political well-being) is so not what this country needs at this moment in history.
Nothing on Chris Matthews show is taken seriously by anyone but Obama supporters. We all know he's in the tank for him and is one of the most biased on cable news.
You have to see the real issue here. Hillary is desperate to be president and who's in her way?Its Obama. First she berated Obama for his pastors comments. Now she's saying he's an elitist what next? He's a black man?
I saw a hunk of the Annie Oakley speech, where Senator Clinton went on and on about how her father taught her to shoot, how she grew up with hunters etc. We all know elitists never love guns or hunting, just ask Dick Cheney. But it made me wonder, with all her deep and abiding knowledge of weapons, how come she didn't return fire in Tuzla?
I love how Obama never gets as negative as Hillary. Hillary acts like a mad dog while attacking Obama and Obama just sits back and defends himself. He never reduces himself to her level. I love it.
But what really irks me is the media coverage of Bitter-gate. They are taking a trivial thing that I consider not even offensive and blow it out of proportion. But that is the typical media I guess.
seriously, Hillary is so desperate right now.. this is exactly why i love Obama. He doesn't put up with the b.s. political crap. That's how he's going to change Washington.
An elitist wouldn't post their tax records for the whole world to see. Meanwhile Hillary won't reveal her own ('cuz let's face it, she's taken tons of money from corporations that are undermining our way of life) and John McCain owns EIGHT houses! I think it's clear who the elitist isn't.
