  • i remember watching this scene for the first time, i looked at my dad who saw it with me, he left soviet russia along with my mom when i was a baby. at that scene i was like "holy shit! so thats what they went through so i'll be able to sit at home and bitch about how unfair my life is". the fact that i CAN bitch about it, is the ultimate freedom.

  • I always cry my eyes out as she finishes the letter, and also when she walks out into the rain. One of my favorite movies ever<3

  • Why are all lesbians hot......btw this was an outstanding movie! I put it along the ranks of Forrest Gump!

  • what was it they were spraying on her in the very beginning?

  • @BrilliantlyHermione extremly hot steam

  • i really like this scene and story of the dead girl but is she a lesbian ????

  • @egyption1111

No, she just pretended to be lesbian all her life.

Of course she is, did you even watch the movie? Or even this 15 minutes here on youtube?

  • @egyption1111 She's Zoophile...

  • Would be so ironic if she died of pneumonia after standing out there in the rain.

  • can you please upload the entire movie? :D

  • @mpakas1990 LOL LOL no man..sorry....

  • @mpakas1990 just buy the movie....

  • man it must smell in that mask the guy smelling his own breath

  • I love you too Valerie!!

  • What she realized at that moment in that cell was what we all should know- that man is a free and beautiful being, and that anything that denies freedom is against life itself.

  • 1:38 Saw? :D

  • epic actors

  • I allways star crying at 8.29 .

  • Natalie is such a great actress, oh my god!

  • The end of this scene, on the rooftop, is just incredible.

I can't help but wonder if they were inspired by a scene from "The Shawshank Redemption." The themes of achieving true freedom are definitely there in both films, and this scene is VERY similar to the scene in Shawshank when Andy stands in the rain after finally escaping the prison.

  • very good movie in the world

  • for me, it wanted to go into the movie and just hug.....and hug her whispering quiet reassurances

  • i cried so much at this scene ):

DIFFRENT ISNT DANGEROUS ITS BEAUTIFUL AND ONE OF THE ONLY THINGS WE HAVE LEFT TO HOLD ON TO <3

  • There's the scene where V shows the shrine he has for Valerie and the roses. He uses those roses when he takes down his enemies. She was a real person... when V himself was a prisoner.

  • @dlovesrcdr this part always confuses me, If V and Valerie we're both prisoners in the same institution doesn't that mean V was one of the gay men? o_o ?

  • @DoriSmori Not all were gay, they also took people who had different political ideas......

  • @SiDKiLLeR666 @dlovesrcdr

weeeeeeeeeeeell Larkhill was the place for all the homosexuals? in a part when Valerie is speaking she says " i didn't understand why they hated US so much" ?i might have gotten it wrong.

it just messes with my head :/ i wanna know who V was.

  • @DoriSmori He was Edmond Dantés... and he was my father. And my mother... my brother... my friend. He was you... and me. He was all of us. he was the guy that served the fire n the place where thay were using them as test rats room number V

  • @DoriSmori it's been awhile since I watched it... But I think they took any type of person they considered a danger to the government. I'm sure he was a big treat with all his political views. Or maybe he was bi. lol. sorry, had to throw that in there. =P

  • so valerie never existed?

  • @bozotheclown9 :S Did you watch the movie???....

  • @bozotheclown9 Yes she did exist but in the comic only

  • @bozotheclown9 She did exist but only in the comic book there is a brief mention toward the end of the film

  • @bozotheclown9 yes she did she was in the cell next to V

  • @bozotheclown9 she did exist, V recreated what happened to him in his cell, he was next to hers back in Larkhill

  • @bozotheclown9 She did.

  • @bozotheclown9 who is valerie?

  • @bozotheclown9 SCUMBAG

  • @bozotheclown9 she did existed.

  • @bozotheclown9 Watch the movie and then comment ! have a good...vision!

  • This scene in both the Movie and the Graphic Novel brought tears to my eyes.

  • cool movie, where the next part?

  • @iamthechoosen1 next part?

  • @iamthechoosen1 hun, there's no continuation. He rescued the world and died. The rest is just people going back to their normal lives.

  • I've watched this part like six times in the past day or so because I'm doing an analysis of it for my Film as Literature class, and I still get chills at what happens after 14:44

  • @oOPartyPoisonOo Wow...thats cool man!!...good luck with your class!!

  • @oOPartyPoisonOo This is an awesome movie your doing then :D

  • I love this scene. the highlights I feel were the whole thing, but mostly from 7:20-8:35 and at the very end

  • @TheMerrow3

Considering how long the toilet paper was in there, especially after it was already dried from being completely drenched in toilet water, I can easily see it becoming crispy after such a long time.

  • @tompointzero No.

  • @voldemortssidekick

    Ignorance is a curse

"And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him." (Holy Quran 29:46)

  • @tompointzero i dont know... ignorance is bliss they say

@DudesNextDoor123 hot steam in naked skin my guess

  • god is in the rain

    love this part

  • REBIRTH

  • when you lose fear you are free

  • @sunami549

If only Americans would shed their fear of the WHAT IF. This movie is so powerful and so few people truly understand how deep it is.

  • 'Our integrity is the last inch of us ! We do not fear death..... God is in the rain'

You have to go to the place within, to the place of total collapse and surrender, to lay naked and broken in the void, then, you will see it, you will see the Light, the light that you are, and you will know the truth, your truth. Its not an easy trip, but it's worth the journey. Namaste my Brethren.

  • The writer says her letter is written on toilette paper. Then why is the paper so damned crisp?

Much less where she got a writing utensil. . . .5:10 Toilette paper does not make that noise.

  • @TheMerrow3 small details man, its not big of a deal that!..the important is the idea!!

  • @TheMerrow3 actually as paper ages it becomes more brittle. That is why old documents are never folded or unfolded because they would shatter. Toilet paper from a prison as you may imagine is not very high quality so the process goes a lot quicker. Also after paper is wet and dries the paper becomes more brittle. The utensil could be anything that leaves a mark on paper, like brittle rock or something like that.

  • @strickerman101 I would imagine there would be some discoloration?

  • @TheMerrow3 Dude, the toilet paper in the prison wouldn't of exactly been good quality...

  • @TheMerrow3 Prison TP is probably not the fluffy stuff. :3

  • @ValentineNation lol'd irl, that's true but hilarious.

  • @TheMerrow3 They were torturing them with crisp toilet paper. Have you tried it? That stuff'll give you hemorrhoids.

  • @TheMerrow3 Is toilet paper under a totalitarian government, you have never taken a shit in North Korea?

  • Great movie.

...Isn't this what happened to Bradley Manning?

  • Why do all women look like Sinead Oconner, when they have their heads shaved ?

    Its quite creepy, really.

  • whats happening to her at 1:39 ?

  • @DudesNextDoor123 What you mean??, She is being torturate with a very strong water flow.....

  • @SiDKiLLeR666 not very strong water flow but with STEAM...

  • @SiDKiLLeR666 It seems like certain chemicals in liquid form. They actually use that as to torture people in some countries.

  • @SiDKiLLeR666 Why is she naked?

  • @SiDKiLLeR666 The water could also be hot enough to scald the skin.

  • @SiDKiLLeR666 I think its steam. It gets pretty hot.

  • @DudesNextDoor123

Im not sure exactly what it is, but whatever it is, i would have done it BEFORE chopping all her hair off.

  • @DudesNextDoor123 she is gettin shot with steaming water

  • @DudesNextDoor123 It's a method of torture where they subject the person to a very strong water flow, usually it's Ice cold. The cold water makes your skin more fragile to pain which makes the strength of the water hurt even more.

  • This.

  • since when was a part 15 minutes long

  • @jpthehp like a year.... give or take...

  • @SiDKiLLeR666 i think it was established she wasnt in there for a year.

  • I think I'm the only one who thinks Natalie Portman overacts everything

  • @behrooz4 lmao i laughed reading this after seeing her like hyoerventilate....oh gawd and i love her acting....>.<

  • People think this is so far fetched, when it is actually happening today. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but how can you ignore all the signs of some of these things already happening?

  • @CrustofCreation

It's been happening but people refuse to wake up. The whole "conspiracy theorist" thing has been played out.

The evidence has been with us all our lives. Look at your one dollar bill. It has the All Seeing Eye of Freemasonry. And if you didn't know, George Washington himself was a Freemason.

Movies = propaganda that capture the [minds and hearts] of the youth.

Study over propagandist like Joseph Goebbels and movie industry during the Wiemar republic.

  • @patriotadEEUU Freemasons are neither evil nor Christian. They are a social fraternity that teaches moral lessons through symbols, allegories and rituals. The Freemasons must believe in a "higher power" to gain office... but never have to say what "higher power" they believe in. In Freemasonry this higher power is known as "G.A.O.T.U." Grand Architect Of The Universe.

  • @patriotadEEUU It is not a blue blood organization they have members from all walks of life all colors and nationalities.Their ceremonies are no more ritualistic than many religious ceremonies I have seen. The Masons I know are pretty decent, down-to-earth folks and donate a lot of time and services to the community. In the US alone, Freemasons provide over $1 billion in support to charitable causes per year. There is no other group that provides that much.

  • @patriotadEEUU But this movie is all about waking up from the lies that have blinded and obscured us. This is much bigger then your typical movie, beyond the mundane trivial superficial bullcrap that spoonfed to you as recommended by major industry of the media (cough cough the real propaganda machine). If people paid more attention to the semantics of it, not the fucking acting quirks, or the "steam torture" but to the story that its trying to teach all of us. The world is up to us to change

  • @CrustofCreation People are too busy to realize their freedoms are being taken away

  • To all homosexual, foreign, overweight, Furry, paraphile, dark skinned, invalid, or otherwise things people usually call "unnormal":

    You're yourself. And that's normal.

Without our pride we've got nothing.

  • @Evolinag i dont call a paraphile "abnormal" (unnormal isnt a word wise one), i call a paraphile disgusting, gross, and dangerous. all the other things u meantioned are pretty normal tho, not sure why u mentioned them, noones thinks homosexual, foreign, overweight, Furry, dark skinned, invalid are wierd

  • @ballwizard6

I think you are confusing paraphile with pedophile, which is only one of many categories of paraphilia.

  • @Evolinag nah i did mean paraphile lol

  • @ballwizard6

Then what is dangerous dangerous, gross and disgusting about it?

Those are people that have done nothing wrong.

  • @Evolinag maybe in ur opinion, but not in the eyes of many others. different opinions, different ppl. different views on righteousness

  • @Evolinag I wish I could love this post. <3

  • what is the song that follows after this video? to the music machine.. please

  • @038971 it could be, I FOUND A REASON FROM CAT POWER or BIRD GERHL FROM ANTHONY AND THE JHONSONS

  • @tonchinacho thaks :) "I FOUND A REASON FROM CAT POWER"

  • yeahh the best part for me tooo! :$

  • favorite movie of all time XD

  • damn natalie you a crazy chick

  • Valerie's story makes me cry....Every Time.

  • what the film is talk about this is my first time to watching this so please if any one can understand me what the film is talking about thank you :)

  • I am Me...and this is absolutely who I Am.

  • I love you. Search love for all hatred for none.

  • V is my hero, like it or not.

  • That is generally the way of the world I'm afraid. Things and thoughts that inspire

people to be independent, which strives for us to truly understand and find ourselves, are generally placed at a second or even third place for goals in our own very lives. No society I can think of wants their people to be free from fear,or free from want.

  • God is in the rain. im not a big believer but that line makes me think sometimes when i watch this.

  • @MusicCrazed170 Keep this in mind at all times: YOU are a fragment and or lets say a speck of the infinite ALL. Therefore you are part and parcel of GOD. ALL in ALL is ALL we ALL are. Everything is part of the ALL. You are only deceived because you exist submerged within finite matter. Know that you are infinite.

"We all live in a Yellow Submarine" Because most of us are "yellow" / "fearful" while "submarine" / "submerged" within finite matter.

  • @ALLinALLgood wtf, please speak more, you/your views on philosophy are interesting

  • @sTapleEVA Here, read my other page profile. I give credit to George Ohsawa.

  • I wish I could feel the way she felt in the rain.

  • @crking44 you can

  • Will forever love this movie

  • This is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen in my whole life.

  • This would have screwed with me so much if I saw this when I was seven.

  • I'm a hard nut, but I cried buckets watching this bit.

  • im only 13 and i love this movie... :)

  • "I AM ME" those 3 words are almost more powerful than "I Love You", and bring me to tears every time I hear them.

  • Die before you die

  • this is the whole movie, the best part, moves and motivates me, i even get a little water in my eyes

  • When I first this film I really didn't know what to make to of it. But now that I've watched this scene again I really like it.

  • I wish there could be a more compelling line...for Valerie autobiography to finish with an "I love you note"...when she is surrounded by so much hate....astonishing to be in that state of mind...

  • @317vineet

A more compelling story line? Your comment brought to my mind the crucifixion of Jesus, with V in the role of Mary lol I'm not sure what could be more compelling either. What stood out to me was when she talked about the gardener who said God(dess) was in the rain which reminded me of this

Man, despite his artistic pretension, his sophistication, and many accomplishments, owes the fact of his existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil -- and the fact that it rains. -- Anonymous

  • This is a great movie, whic is really moving and thought provoking, but... ewww she kissed toilet paper.

  • @oogachuckababy I'm not the only one ;)

  • Hard to think there is still enough hate and bigotry in the world for some of us to feel hate against minorities. That belonging to a smaller group makes one a lesser human. I saw corpses once. Eaten away by the animals and the elements over the years, all that remained were bones, skeletons. There were eight of them in that hole. One of them was black. One of them was asian. Three of them were women. One of them was gay.

And I couldn't tell which was which. And I found this quite revealing.

  • Remember remember, the 5th of November.

  • best part eveer *blonde teenager sfx*

  • @NyorexDC didn't get the "blonde teenager sfx" thing....

  • @SiDKiLLeR666

took me a bit but I think NyorexDC meant to say "best part ever" with a valley girl accent - if that's any clearer.

anyway thanks for posting this it really is a great scene. It's one of the few scenes from movies that actually stick with me.

  • @SiDKiLLeR666 *in a valley girl voice*

  • @SiDKiLLeR666 It took me a while to figure it out, but I think he meant that moans and stuff. When she was all screaming he must've been wanking. THAT SICK F***. O___o

  • Youtube never lets me post URLs. Just do a Google search for "Forget Zen" - it is the first hit.

  • Why must the powerful message of this movie be sullied with the promotion of homosexuality?

  • @lanecan why must you think homosexuality sullies any thing? Could the message be more profound because two people were torn apart for only loving each other? Isn't that why it comes across more powerful? It is the unjustness of the events that make it powerful.

  • @lanecan Go away. You sully the world with your existence.

  • @lanecan idiot

  • @lanecan Seems to me that the message of the movie went right over your head.

  • Thank you for posting this. It is the best part ever!! I used it for today's post on the Forget Zen blog.

  • @kj6jzk Cool, what's the URL??.....

  • i rember when i saw this in theaters and was utterly blown away. coming out of it my gf kept yapping and i was looking at her like did you just not see that movie.

  • America is slowly but surely becoming a dictatorship. Democracy here is an illusion created to rule the masses- to keep us ignorant and not powerful to understand our own worth and abilities. It is time we create our own Fifth of November. We need freedom and human rights for all!

  • @sweetbabyblack indeed

  • @FreeFlowingJuices She would love it...

  • Thank you...thank you so much

  • @Me4899 yrw!

  • Such a powerful scene. Wow.

  • this is the movie i'll show to my kid's

  • @shabsog1982 ya want them to be homo?
