I think winCE is much better on a netbook, than Android OS. winCE is more like a desktop os, android is like a tablet os, or a cell phone os. On WinCE you can see several applications running in the same time, but on Android, everything goes fullscreen, even a calculator, or a notepad. That makes it look very lame.
On tablets, android is perfect, though, because its strongly optimized for touchscreens. But I hardly recommend everybody to NOT buy netbooks like this with android os.
a netbook like yours is more "productive" because with Android "portable" tablets, you can't do anything with them like edit Word documents, create html files with simple text programs like Notepad, no usb 2.0 ports, no ethernet ports(in case Wifi or 3g r unreliable)... & on and on. Android tablets & smartphones suck for "productivity" & i don't always want 2b "entertained." batterie r also "unswappable & unremovable"
@goohber1 Actually you're right. I use this Chi-nee Ntbook to troubleshoot network problems. I bought an Asus eePC 901 with Linux on it and it is my main travel PC. That said, I have an iPad that I love. I use the iPad for all entertainment and web surfing. I use the Asus for everything else.

Just for correction all of the Windows version you listed are not compatible with this computer because of their system requirements, not because it has windows CE. This has an ARM chip in it which will not run any version of windows since windows does not support ARM compatibility except with WCE and WF7, and that windows needs floating points capability in the CPU which ARM does not have.
Question? How did you connect to the internet? I called my ISP to help walk me through the wireless from my desktop but they could not help me. Another question? Have you tried to use the ethernet cord from your desktop to to get on the internet?

@Theknowland No windows software or games works on this computer UNLESS is is specifically written for Windows CE. No facebook chat, but it does come with MSN Messenger. Does not work with uTube, etc. As far as those asking about problems, I don't know unless someone else here can answer. I would contact the person I bought it from and ask them where to send it. @carealotbear71 Sorry ur having a problem. There is a reset "hole" in the rear where you can power on then push a paperclip end in and reset. That should fix it.
Ubuntu is working on an ARM 926 version of Linux now. It's just a matter of time. BTW, the Bios password is ZTK and if you remove the battery and look near the battery plug, there are two "short points" on the circuit board labeled "USB" that when shorted allow booting from a USB drive.

LOL at Windows CE, I work at a major retailer and we have that on our PDAs, it's made to run just basic programs, Windows CE was not designed for the consumer market let alone everyday use. An older used laptop with a 1.6ghz processor would run laps around this little piece of junk.
@dewan2others The simple answer is no. If the browser is loading facebook too slow you might wan't to find another browser. Although, if you think the hardware is just too slow, then you should try a linux OS for better performance. You can do some a search online and you will find something helpful.

@Renettert Double click on the little wireless network icon on the bottom right of the taskbar, and the click on "wireless informtion". You should see a list of wireless connections. Click on the one you want and click the connect button. Provide the info if asked for any. Hope this helps.
I have 1, cheap enough, but it has the Win CE, now there is a way to put linux on it but only certain types, we were looking at it today at university, once linux is on it it will be perfect for students, + it has the ARM processor which is british made :) but its an excellent little item
These are slightly dated now because you can get a cheap Android tablet for not much more. I still use mine for network troubleshooting and light browsing.
@britishgoose01 The OS is in ROM so you can't load another OS very easily. They make these with Linux on them already. On eBay search for "Linux Netbook".
@PopDigify if you get it with VT 8500 or VT 8505 processor then you can actually change the operating system - but it may require some specialized knowledge. if you google, im sure you will find more info! but other processors are no good for this purpose.

I have to respectfully disagree. It's totally worthless as far as I can see. It won't display half of the websites I use on a daily basis. Says it's an unsupported format. It won't play YouTube videos even using the supplied program. You can't get any additional software, no other browsers and there's not enough memory to store any photo files Basically it incompatible with anything..
It takes forever to load a webpage, freezes up constantly and has to be rebooted several times an hour.
He's right entirely, but all in all, this is for general use. Music, some videos, writing, and webbrowsing. I got mine for free at a business seminar. And for listening to some tunes before bed, or jotting down ideas, this little bugger is perfect.
of course its not XP or Vista, its a basic web browser machine, what do you expect for $100 bucks or less?, you can check e mail, e bay and and text doc. its sucks for video but its only $100 or less on e bay

you can actually watch flash content on this machine but you need to download the windows mobile adobe flash. because windows ce is every thing windows mobile is but with ce at the end.
Install Ubuntu on that and you got the shit.

LOL at Windows CE, I work at a major retailer and we have that on our PDAs, it's made to run just basic programs, Windows CE was not designed for the consumer market let alone everyday use. An older used laptop with a 1.6ghz processor would run laps around this little piece of junk.

@dewan2others The simple answer is no. If the browser is loading facebook too slow you might wan't to find another browser. Although, if you think the hardware is just too slow, then you should try a linux OS for better performance. You can do some a search online and you will find something helpful.

@Renettert Double click on the little wireless network icon on the bottom right of the taskbar, and the click on "wireless informtion". You should see a list of wireless connections. Click on the one you want and click the connect button. Provide the info if asked for any. Hope this helps.

I have 1, cheap enough, but it has the Win CE, now there is a way to put linux on it but only certain types, we were looking at it today at university, once linux is on it it will be perfect for students, + it has the ARM processor which is british made :) but its an excellent little item

These are slightly dated now because you can get a cheap Android tablet for not much more. I still use mine for network troubleshooting and light browsing.

@britishgoose01 The OS is in ROM so you can't load another OS very easily. They make these with Linux on them already. On eBay search for "Linux Netbook".

@PopDigify if you get it with VT 8500 or VT 8505 processor then you can actually change the operating system - but it may require some specialized knowledge. if you google, im sure you will find more info! but other processors are no good for this purpose.

I have to respectfully disagree. It's totally worthless as far as I can see. It won't display half of the websites I use on a daily basis. Says it's an unsupported format. It won't play YouTube videos even using the supplied program. You can't get any additional software, no other browsers and there's not enough memory to store any photo files Basically it incompatible with anything..
It takes forever to load a webpage, freezes up constantly and has to be rebooted several times an hour.

He's right entirely, but all in all, this is for general use. Music, some videos, writing, and webbrowsing. I got mine for free at a business seminar. And for listening to some tunes before bed, or jotting down ideas, this little bugger is perfect.

you can actually watch flash content on this machine but you need to download the windows mobile adobe flash. because windows ce is every thing windows mobile is but with ce at the end.
