As an owner may be I can answer a few questions. I have an 08 gsr and it's been super reliable/the most fun car I've driven. As far as upkeep goes, stock tires cost nearly $400 each and are great for track, awful in snow. You will need to replace the clutch after an average of about 30k miles depending on how it's driven and you will need a clutch master cylinder replacement when you Change said clutch. Other then that it's bulletproof, and it takes to mods just as well if not better then IX's.
It's somewhat slower then IX's stock due to a 200 pound increase but is the same speed as the 8's. The 5 gear tranny on the highway doesn't bother me to much because it's always ready to go fast, if you floor it in fith at 50mph there is less lag then if you floored it in 6th at 50mph that's why Mitsu made it that way think of it as a cat with its back hunched up ready to pounce at anytime on the unsuspecting mouse in the corner.
Also "edd" I disagree with one thing you wrote, the Sti is not easier to launch because it doesn't have a "two step" from the factory Like the Evo. All you do is hold in the clutch while in first, while flooring the gas then slip off the clutch and your off like a rocket. Also ams and ets far outway Vishnu as tuners, ams and ets have 800+awp Evo x's look up Ryan gates as well. Hope that helped
damn mitsubishi for not making a 6 speed manual, i drive high way a lot, so 5 speed is out of the question, and i'm not getting a paddle shifter, so no option for me bu the fugly Sti =(
@XMG3 The 5 speed really isn't that bad at anything below 80. Once you get close to 80 well it still isn't bad, it's kinda cool all the noise but for those opposed to that, cruising at 70 to 75 and it's no problem at all.
good review. i think the exterior styling is spot on. Interior does look boring but you're buying performance, not luxury. However, Mitsubishi needs to up their game and put out around 350 crank hp to compete with the new performance cars
another import off the list, i heard the evo is going out of production for good. And with the 5.0, camaro, and challenger back it looks like american muscle is taking over again and that means out economy will go up....LOL
@sergsrt8 American "muscle" is for straight lines. No real driver drives in a straight line, or circles for that matter. They put a steering wheel on cars that turns to the left AND right for a reason.
@scrolex too bad you dont know about imports AND domestics....i actually have knowlege in both and im telling you right now a mustang can easily run with an evo around a track...the mustang rapes an m3 around a track i think it can run with an evo....and i street race so have you ever seen a street race with turns? NO, but who cares the evo is going out of production anyway.
@iXetsuei - We called the Evo Boring? The guys love this car and it's in Todd's current top 5 (See our FAQ #2). It's not luxurious, but it's far from boring.
@iXetsuei - Paul says "the interior could almost be described as boring" - meanwhile in the rest of the review the guys praise the car for it's abilities and performance for the money. Then they said they would own the Evo, and gave it high marks. So your conclusion is that the guys think this car is just boring. Really?
@iXetsuei did they call the Evo boring or the interior? Calling the interior boring means nothing. They understand that. You don't buy a car like this for the interior. Watch the video again son.
Oh, and if you only make $10 an hour, you will never get this. And if you're only 16, just relax and focus on school. You need a good job to afford performance cars and the gas they burn.
@BaboonMF or utilize one of the many grey areas in California State law, and exploit it to your financial success. I bought mine when I was 21. No mommy and daddy to pay my bills.( :
I have test driven this car. I have also test driven STi's, both earlier models the U.S. has had and the latest. Test drive them all before you make the investment. You will see that the EVO feels faster as it's larger turbo spools up. There is definitely more of a power surge because of this that is extremely addicting. If you talk yourself into an automatic because you fight rush hour traffic you will regret it everywhere else. Manual is just more fun to drive. Don't be lazy.
As a 2nd car, which one would you guys get between the Evo X, 370Z, or the new 2011 mustang GT 5.0 with over 400hp?? Anyone can reply to this. Clearly the mustang is faster than all. They all cost about same (mustang slightly cheaper), so which is the best overall package??
@MalikPhotography Depends, Mustang 5.0 is the drag car king of the 3 you listed with the track performance of the new M3. So it over the 370z is a no brainer, even better than the Nismo. The Evo X is a rally car that can go on dirt and launch better in the rain and can handle snow. It's all based on preference and where you might live. :]
@MalikPhotography bored at work so I am responding. I am biased because I just got the Evo X a few weeks ago and I believe America builds crap cars. Which was proven by Obama stealing tax money to save them. They should be out of business. Get the Evo, it has 4 seats like the Mustang and you can actually take an on-ramp at enough speed to pin you against the drivers door. And if you want 400hp a few grand more and you are there. The Evo make you feel like Michael Schumacher.
@bbblahoo7 - We recommend you watch our S5 review as well, if you haven't already. But, in short: The Evo handles much better and has a far more hardcore and involving feel than the S5. The EVO is a canyon carver and track car. The S5 has a much better interior and would be a better choice for any kind of long-distance driving. The Evo has more room for passengers. The S5 has more trunk space. Both get pretty disappointing mileage. Todd would pick Evo every time. Paul would pick S5.
was going to get this car till I found out no 6 speed manual transmission available. That's like 3000+ rpm at 100km/h. Nty Mitsu, I'll prolly just get an STi. BTW, your paddle shift transmission is pretty stupid. EVO's are meant to be manual (I wish i got an EVO IX). And btw, making your EVO XI more fuel efficient by making it hybrid diesel is not going to sell (really curious how that car performs in rally)... Do that on your lancer models. We buy EVO's not because we care about mileage.
@homeboyskilletfresh I pay 145 a month and my driving record is FAR FAR FAR from perfect. That's 145 with 500 deductible and 100/300 coverage. But it also depends on your age.
@thevlogstyle - The MR version, with the Paddle shift transmission is a six-speed, and the upper gear definitely helps highway cruising. The Stick shift is only available as a 5-speed.
The EVO, M3, & GTR are all fantastic cars, but we wouldn't recommend any of them as a first car. Besides being a lot to handle they are wildly expensive to insure for anyone under 25.
@TheFernandotorres17 - Don't worry... if you can't get one right away, you can get one eventually! If you can afford the insurance as a first car, good for you... but the Evo is a LOT of car for someone's first vehicle. Thanks for watching!
Hey guys! I've watched your reviews and appreciate the every mans input. Do you think the Evo X would be a good daily driver for a person who needs to use AWD for weather conditions? I really like this car because it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it does have slick styling and performance. Bottom line, would the Evo demand too much time for maintenance for it to be a fun car? btw, since you're short staffed, if you ever need a test driver just message me.
@chambois323 - Obviously, we are huge fans of the Evo X. Todd would love to own one as a daily driver, and it would be an excellent year round car. (Remember it has a Snow setting for the traction & differentials - just buy winter tires). If you are more interested in being involved in driving than comforted, then you'll be very pleased. Reliability: this is a high-strung sports car, so it will require some $ now and then, think of it as more expensive than a civic, less expensive than a BMW.
@EverydayDriver - I do want to become a more integral part of the car and I think the Evo X would be a good choice. I do have some concern about the 5-speed tho. Many critics say it revs too high and should have a sixth gear. I would probably go with an MR Dual Clutch. Do you guys have any idea what a used (low miles) 08' Evo X MR goes for without me paying too much? Thanks for the help guys!
@chambois323 - We would highly encourage you to pick up an MR. The gearbox is really great, and makes the car a bit more "everyday" usable. Our favorite is actually the MR Touring, which has a bit nicer interior experience - but that's a rare find and 45k new. For an 08 MR, we recommend shopping nation wide (autotrader) in order find a good deal. Buy as low miles as you can. And expect to pay high 20s-low 30s.
@EverydayDriver regarding what you said about reliability, what would be some of the things you think i would need to do within the first year ? check for turbo leaks ? change tires ? oil changes more than often ? and also, i heard that the EVO X eats a lot of gas on the freeway because its only a 5 speed and doing cruising speeds down the highway, it revs to high
@EverydayDriver I really like the spoiler on the GSR but want the MR for its gearbox. Is there anyway I could get that spoiler on the MR from the dealer/factory?
It's the truth... Bought my 2010 used evo gsr with 10k miles for $29k ... Sold my 09 GTR with 11k for $64k...
Loved the GTR to death but attracts too much attention and is too expensive to track.. Fluids and pads and tires and rotors really add up... And what I paid for the GTR exhaust setup is what I paid on a catback, pads, fluids, intake and tune on the evo...
The Evo would be better as a 6speed (non mr) for hwy and commuting... The car is geared where is ALWAYS ready to go go go.. Which
i saww thiss revieww a couplee of timess before buying my evo x 2011... everythiing they sayy here is soo trueee. the gass tankk is very small, people turn and look at the car and compliment it.the seats are amazing... u can fit 5 people in it.. and terrify them like i already have lol.. . the handling is amazing,,. I love tHiiS caR:))
WOW! I just found your channel a few moments ago and I am very impressed. Your car reviews are excellent and very professional. Please keep up with the great work!
Hey guys, I have watched all of your reviews! They are all awesome. I am now in a process of getting a new car and I am highly considering the evo x. I like a car that handles and the performance is just amazing. However, for the same or cheaper I could get Subaru WRX or VW CC or Audi A4. granted, they are very different cars. Would evo x be a smart choice over those cars? I drive a lot, but I like performance. Keeps me awake in a very early morning. I appreciate any feedback!
@warikplaya - Yes, you're considering 2 different groups. The Evo & WRX are one group, and the A4 & CC are the other.
If you want refinement, long-distance cruising, etc... go with the CC - It's a better looking, more interesting A4 for less money. The base A4 may feel a bit better to drive, but not by much.
If you want performance... go with the EVO. It's the best performance car of your choices by a wide margin. The WRX is fun, but the EVO is more amazing and will give you a bigger grin.
@EverydayDriver Thanks for your response! I will definitely check out the EVO. Its an expensive car though, so if the interior is not too bad then it is my #1 choice. I will also take a look at 370z, but I want to lease my car at first, so 370z will probably be a little bit more expensive. Anyways, thanks for your videos and a response!
@EverydayDriver How does the Evo X stack up against the 2011 WRX STi? I've found both for about the same price, but which is more powerful performance-wise, or responds better to engine modifications? I have some people saying the Evo is better, while others telling me to get the STi. Which do you think would make the better track car?
@ParallelSnail - We've driven both on the track & they are close enough to be debated based on driver preference and bias. However, we found the STI to have more body roll and feel heavier than the EVO. The Evo is light on its feet and a bit better in corners. The STI is easier to launch with better low-end torque and less turbo lag (2.5 engine vs. Evos 2.0). And if you get the EVO X paddle shift tranny (It is a good one) it can overheat after a long hard track session. Todd says Evo.
@EverydayDriver I've noticed with 90% of vehicles, if you're running stick shift you can get a lot more power out of the vehicle in the end. Is the Evo X an exception to this rule with it's paddle shifters? When driving my Hyundai Genesis, I often do well on a track because I can near the red-line before I shift thus getting the most power out of it's pulls. Can you get the maximum performance out of the X's paddle-shifters, or will it not let you reach near the red-line?
@ParallelSnail - The Genesis Coupe is a really fun car... but its automatic is one of the very worst for performance driving. The EVO X paddle shift dual clutch in the MR is one of the better ones out there. It's as fast or faster with the paddles as it is with the stick shift. Even left to shift for itself it is extremely fast and smart. The EVO X is one of the few cars where we recommend either transmission. And if you're going sit in traffic at all get the SST/Paddle tranny.
@EverydayDriver Alright, thank you very much for both your time and your input. Now I just have one last question. Do you know if the EVO X responds as well to high powered engine mods as the previous Evo IX? I remember hearing the IX was easily tuned for low cost and made extremely formidable in all types of racing.
@ParallelSnail - Keep in mind that this car is pretty mind-blowing stock. Dreams of 400hp are possible, but pretty unnecessary. Having said that, the EVO X seems to be a pretty reliable platform for HP figures in the mid 300s. One of the best tuners is Vishnu Tuning, they've refined the EVO X and gotten some good press on their tuning of the car. The issue isn't actually the engine... the MR/Paddle shift transmission seems to only take so much HP/TQ, (Around 350) the stick shift can take more.
Here's my beef with this car: no 6-speed manual. On are car with great performance, it just doesn't make sense to have a 5-speed. Not everyone wants paddle shifters.
only rich lil posers get evo's and go race right away. I'm straight with my 08 lancer converting it into a tunner and because thats how you know you ain't A little poser
You guys i am trying to debate if I would enjoy the Evo 10 or the 370z better. I am strictly looking at just pure fun and enjoyment (a pleasure vehicle) in normal condition driving. Like no more than 80-90 mph tops.I don't take to many people with me on trips. I am single and 22 years old.
@TheThedragonwarrior - We highly recommend you drive both, as the 370 & Evo X feel very different behind the wheel. The Evo has a better dual-clutch transmission if you don't want the manual. The Zs synchro-rev manual is awesome. The Evo will have more amazing handling and be more versatile. The 370z has great RWD handling, but the Evo will probably amaze you more.
@TheThedragonwarrior 22 years old? Single? Child-less? NOT FOR LONG... Get the EVO X, not only will it out perform the 370z, but it will be a handy investment come that rainy day that your future girlfriend comes to you and says... "we're having twins..." Besides, AWD may be a nice addition? ... then again, you wont be able to drift the shit out of corners... but that'll only end in tragedy anyway.... EVO X
@Streetbikechamp You can drift an Evo... It has front and rear LSD, so it will drift really easy.. But, remember to turn the TCS off... Great car! I have an VIII, and it's also a great car!!!
@JendrusZbojnik ur right actually i found out i prefer it to the evo now because i like the newer versions (they changed some things to make it better) ;)
Hey guys big fan of your reviews. If you had to pick a car either the new EVO or Camaro SS (random I know) with the intention of building up the powertrain and upgrading the suspension for autoX/track racing and drag racing which would be better? I like the camaro alot I think it's beautiful and the LS3 makes power everywhere but I'm concerned I would regret buying such a large car because I consider a cars handling potential to being a deal breaker.
@BlueAvenue22 - If you were building just a drag car, we'd say the Camaro. BUT... if you're building for autocross and handling, the EvoX just wins. Vishnu tuning offers reliable maps and tuning for the Evo, and even in stock form the handling is far more capable than the Camaro.
@EverydayDriver Have you guys driven the TCC SST the MR version if yes how fast is it compared to the Mazda MPS 3 , I have heard some people say its slow... in the GSR review you mentioned the acceleration is like "if you shotguned a beer" do you get the same feeling for the MR? like getting pushed in the seat feeling?
@civiclsi15 It is faster than the GSR. Don't believe it when people say it's slower, cause it's not. They just say that cause it's stuck in their minds that it's just an automatic transmission. The SST is really handy on the track. You can actually shift while turning. There's no one can shift as fast as a SST. It's similar to the Paddle Shifter on the Ferrari, Lambo, etc. Even just the Ralliart version SST which it only has sport mode (EVO X MR has Super Sport Mode) is already fast.
@civiclsi15 The only thing about the MR is that when you launch it, it's not as fast as the GSR, cause the computer is trying to save the clutch from burning.. But, when you tune your car, you can actually tune the SST also which is pretty cool....
@BlueAvenue22 Well, it really depends on what year of a Camaro you're looking to go with as the same goes for an Evo'. If you're looking for an older cheaper model to work on, I would suggest the last generation of the Camaro (pre-2010) because those can be found dirt cheap and they're easy to work on. Now an Evo' you would be hard pressed to find for less than 12k that hasn't been beat to death, but with AWD they're easy time attack cars to work with.
@BlueAvenue22 Before I bought an X MR, I had a Holden SSV (Pontiac G8 GT). I had coil overs on the G8 and the handling was average at best. The Evos handling really is mind boggling, especially in the wet. I scare my passengers on a regular basis :D
The Evo has some cons though, slow off the line (SST problem), and it doesn't sound good at all. Also, it has the turning circle of a BUS.
All in all, I'm VERY glad I ditched my SSV and got an Evo!
The newer STi is not the same as this EVO - compare the new fancy 400hp STi to the FQ-400 Evo... then your on the same page. It was the FQ-400 Evo 8 that smashed the Lambo.
Plus the STi still looks rubbish compared to the EVO... then again I own this car :-)

Is there a 6th gear on any of the models? I'm actually looking for a first vehicle and I do like this, as well as the GT-R and maybe a BMW M3.
thevlogstyle 5 months ago
@thevlogstyle - The MR version, with the Paddle shift transmission is a six-speed, and the upper gear definitely helps highway cruising. The Stick shift is only available as a 5-speed.
The EVO, M3, & GTR are all fantastic cars, but we wouldn't recommend any of them as a first car. Besides being a lot to handle they are wildly expensive to insure for anyone under 25.

@EverydayDriver you just ruined my life and dreams thanks! i was getting an evo at the end of the month.
TheFernandotorres17 3 weeks ago
@TheFernandotorres17 - Don't worry... if you can't get one right away, you can get one eventually! If you can afford the insurance as a first car, good for you... but the Evo is a LOT of car for someone's first vehicle. Thanks for watching!

Hey guys! I've watched your reviews and appreciate the every mans input. Do you think the Evo X would be a good daily driver for a person who needs to use AWD for weather conditions? I really like this car because it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it does have slick styling and performance. Bottom line, would the Evo demand too much time for maintenance for it to be a fun car? btw, since you're short staffed, if you ever need a test driver just message me.
chambois323 7 months ago
@chambois323 - Obviously, we are huge fans of the Evo X. Todd would love to own one as a daily driver, and it would be an excellent year round car. (Remember it has a Snow setting for the traction & differentials - just buy winter tires). If you are more interested in being involved in driving than comforted, then you'll be very pleased. Reliability: this is a high-strung sports car, so it will require some $ now and then, think of it as more expensive than a civic, less expensive than a BMW.
EverydayDriver 7 months ago
@EverydayDriver - I do want to become a more integral part of the car and I think the Evo X would be a good choice. I do have some concern about the 5-speed tho. Many critics say it revs too high and should have a sixth gear. I would probably go with an MR Dual Clutch. Do you guys have any idea what a used (low miles) 08' Evo X MR goes for without me paying too much? Thanks for the help guys!
chambois323 7 months ago
@chambois323 - We would highly encourage you to pick up an MR. The gearbox is really great, and makes the car a bit more "everyday" usable. Our favorite is actually the MR Touring, which has a bit nicer interior experience - but that's a rare find and 45k new. For an 08 MR, we recommend shopping nation wide (autotrader) in order find a good deal. Buy as low miles as you can. And expect to pay high 20s-low 30s.
EverydayDriver 7 months ago
@EverydayDriver regarding what you said about reliability, what would be some of the things you think i would need to do within the first year ? check for turbo leaks ? change tires ? oil changes more than often ? and also, i heard that the EVO X eats a lot of gas on the freeway because its only a 5 speed and doing cruising speeds down the highway, it revs to high

Its so unfair how much we pay for cars in Australia!!! 2011 Evo X MR $85000. 2011 Subaru STi Spec R $71000. 2011 Nissan GT-R $190000!
You Americans get an Evo X MR for less than what we pay for a WRX, and our dollar has been kicking yours for months!!
Some people over here still want $70000+ for their 1999 GT-R V specs.
Great reviews you guys do.

Which

I appreciate any feedback!
warikplaya 9 months ago
@warikplaya - Yes, you're considering 2 different groups. The Evo & WRX are one group, and the A4 & CC are the other.
If you want refinement, long-distance cruising, etc... go with the CC - It's a better looking, more interesting A4 for less money. The base A4 may feel a bit better to drive, but not by much.
If you want performance... go with the EVO. It's the best performance car of your choices by a wide margin. The WRX is fun, but the EVO is more amazing and will give you a bigger grin.
EverydayDriver 8 months ago 12
@EverydayDriver Thanks for your response! I will definitely check out the EVO. Its an expensive car though, so if the interior is not too bad then it is my #1 choice. I will also take a look at 370z, but I want to lease my car at first, so 370z will probably be a little bit more expensive. Anyways, thanks for your videos and a response!
warikplaya 8 months ago
@EverydayDriver How does the Evo X stack up against the 2011 WRX STi? I've found both for about the same price, but which is more powerful performance-wise, or responds better to engine modifications? I have some people saying the Evo is better, while others telling me to get the STi. Which do you think would make the better track car?
ParallelSnail 5 months ago
@ParallelSnail - We've driven both on the track & they are close enough to be debated based on driver preference and bias. However, we found the STI to have more body roll and feel heavier than the EVO. The Evo is light on its feet and a bit better in corners. The STI is easier to launch with better low-end torque and less turbo lag (2.5 engine vs. Evos 2.0). And if you get the EVO X paddle shift tranny (It is a good one) it can overheat after a long hard track session. Todd says Evo.
EverydayDriver 5 months ago
@EverydayDriver I've noticed with 90% of vehicles, if you're running stick shift you can get a lot more power out of the vehicle in the end. Is the Evo X an exception to this rule with it's paddle shifters? When driving my Hyundai Genesis, I often do well on a track because I can near the red-line before I shift thus getting the most power out of it's pulls. Can you get the maximum performance out of the X's paddle-shifters, or will it not let you reach near the red-line?
ParallelSnail 5 months ago
@ParallelSnail - The Genesis Coupe is a really fun car... but its automatic is one of the very worst for performance driving. The EVO X paddle shift dual clutch in the MR is one of the better ones out there. It's as fast or faster with the paddles as it is with the stick shift. Even left to shift for itself it is extremely fast and smart. The EVO X is one of the few cars where we recommend either transmission. And if you're going sit in traffic at all get the SST/Paddle tranny.
EverydayDriver 5 months ago
@EverydayDriver Alright, thank you very much for both your time and your input. Now I just have one last question. Do you know if the EVO X responds as well to high powered engine mods as the previous Evo IX? I remember hearing the IX was easily tuned for low cost and made extremely formidable in all types of racing.
ParallelSnail 5 months ago
@ParallelSnail - Keep in mind that this car is pretty mind-blowing stock. Dreams of 400hp are possible, but pretty unnecessary. Having said that, the EVO X seems to be a pretty reliable platform for HP figures in the mid 300s. One of the best tuners is Vishnu Tuning, they've refined the EVO X and gotten some good press on their tuning of the car. The issue isn't actually the engine... the MR/Paddle shift transmission seems to only take so much HP/TQ, (Around 350) the stick shift can take more.
EverydayDriver 5 months ago
@warikplaya consider the sti instead of wrx dude

JendrusZbojnik 8 months ago
Here's my beef with this car: no 6-speed manual. On are car with great performance, it just doesn't make sense to have a 5-speed. Not everyone wants paddle shifters.

TheThedragonwarrior 10 months ago
@TheThedragonwarrior - We highly recommend you drive both, as the 370 & Evo X feel very different behind the wheel. The Evo has a better dual-clutch transmission if you don't want the manual. The Zs synchro-rev manual is awesome. The Evo will have more amazing handling and be more versatile. The 370z has great RWD handling, but the Evo will probably amaze you more.
EverydayDriver 10 months ago 5
@EverydayDriver Thank you, you guys are GREAT!
TheThedragonwarrior 10 months ago
@TheThedragonwarrior 22 years old? Single? Child-less? NOT FOR LONG... Get the EVO X, not only will it out perform the 370z, but it will be a handy investment come that rainy day that your future girlfriend comes to you and says... "we're having twins..." Besides, AWD may be a nice addition? ... then again, you wont be able to drift the shit out of corners... but that'll only end in tragedy anyway.... EVO X
Streetbikechamp 9 months ago 31
@Streetbikechamp You can drift an Evo... It has front and rear LSD, so it will drift really easy.. But, remember to turn the TCS off... Great car! I have an VIII, and it's also a great car!!!

BlueAvenue22 10 months ago
@BlueAvenue22 - If you were building just a drag car, we'd say the Camaro. BUT... if you're building for autocross and handling, the EvoX just wins. Vishnu tuning offers reliable maps and tuning for the Evo, and even in stock form the handling is far more capable than the Camaro.
EverydayDriver 10 months ago 4
@EverydayDriver Have you guys driven the TCC SST the MR version if yes how fast is it compared to the Mazda MPS 3 , I have heard some people say its slow... in the GSR review you mentioned the acceleration is like "if you shotguned a beer" do you get the same feeling for the MR? like getting pushed in the seat feeling?
civiclsi15 10 months ago
@civiclsi15 It is faster than the GSR. Don't believe it when people say it's slower, cause it's not. They just say that cause it's stuck in their minds that it's just an automatic transmission. The SST is really handy on the track. You can actually shift while turning. There's no one can shift as fast as a SST. It's similar to the Paddle Shifter on the Ferrari, Lambo, etc. Even just the Ralliart version SST which it only has sport mode (EVO X MR has Super Sport Mode) is already fast.
Filipinoborn 9 months ago
@civiclsi15 The only thing about the MR is that when you launch it, it's not as fast as the GSR, cause the computer is trying to save the clutch from burning.. But, when you tune your car, you can actually tune the SST also which is pretty cool....
Filipinoborn 9 months ago
@BlueAvenue22 Well, it really depends on what year of a Camaro you're looking to go with as the same goes for an Evo'. If you're looking for an older cheaper model to work on, I would suggest the last generation of the Camaro (pre-2010) because those can be found dirt cheap and they're easy to work on. Now an Evo' you would be hard pressed to find for less than 12k that hasn't been beat to death, but with AWD they're easy time attack cars to work with.
toyoracing89 10 months ago
@BlueAvenue22 Before I bought an X MR, I had a Holden SSV (Pontiac G8 GT). I had coil overs on the G8 and the handling was average at best. The Evos handling really is mind boggling, especially in the wet. I scare my passengers on a regular basis :D
The Evo has some cons though, slow off the line (SST problem), and it doesn't sound good at all. Also, it has the turning circle of a BUS.
All in all, I'm VERY glad I ditched my SSV and got an Evo!
