People like John M need to know he is not alone; many of us proclaim there is no other name under heaven by whom we may be saved, and that name is Jesus. John M is right when he says Islam is not true but a false religion because it gets the wrong perception of Christ Jesus the Lord and Saviour.

@chicraig6421 The book is of scripture which speaks about things of God we get nowhere else. He uses the BIble to understand God, that's how it works. And he understands because, like any Christian, the Holy Spirit works in him. Jesus spoke highly of scripture and referred to it ofen.

If Jesus wasn't God then there would have been no legal way for them to crucify him. He was crucified because he said he was the messiah and to say that places him above Caesar which is treason because the Roman empire was in control of Israel back then.
Any time through the crucifixion Jesus could have recanted and they would have stopped the punishment immediately. What liar could go through a crucifixion and not give in. Crucifixion by cross is the worst possible way of dying.

@rickw1100 Okay, I will believe that if you use Scripture to back up your claim, that we are saved by keeping the first 2 commandments. The point there is to reveal the heart attitude, the external keeping of the law never did anything for anyone, it was the heart attitude. He was pointing them to the fact that they cannot do that without the grace of God, no one can love God or their neighbor unless God enables them, because we are corrupt and wicked by nature. Compare it to Mt 5:22-22 & 27-28

@rickw1100 Why did Jesus die, then, if His whole purpose was to tell us about those 2 commandments, which, according to you, are the means of salvation. God had already spoken for several thousand years through the prophets (ie the OT), so don't use the excuse that Jesus was a good teacher that was just showing us to God. Read Acts 4:10-12; how could a good teacher save anyone? Read Galatians 2:16, and read James 2:22. Following commandments never saved anyone.

Read verse 40; now read Gal. 2:16. Obeying a commandment never saves anyone.
