@triondrummer with a gun it would very much be different. but even without one they could have done something better. their are tactics and procedures that could've been used. but the biggest problem here is that they are applying none. pepperspray would've disabled the suspect long enough to slap irons on him. i seen it work plenty of times. no matter how strong the person is it will work. and his partner could have tackled the suspect to the ground.

Not that there aren't guns out there, but London has 7 1/2 million inhabitants and probably a hundred or so guns in the hands of criminals. I think you guys will find that the fight had already been going a while when this recording started. The police had taken the guy down several times and he just got back up because he was bigger and stronger! The last gasp attempt was PAVA spray (pepper) & baton when all else failed! Don't forget this was Notting Hill Carnival, the guy was high!
And the hanging on technique....worked well...he didnt run away!! There's no way 2 cops with body armour on would have kept up with Linford Christy!
