I have a Sthil-a Ryobi-an Echo-and a Husqvarna. The Husqvarna starts the best, then the Echo, and the Ryobi and Stihl come in l
ast place, but not by much. I would buy any of these by price if apples were compared to apples. Doesn't matter how many tests/comparisons are done, people will be biased and suspicious at the results. But your presentation was done well, and fairly I think.
Try useing a hedge trimmer against another hedge trimmer. Cold starting hedge trimmers can be effected by the gearbox being gummed up or other factors. Use two power blowers to state your case better.
Echo's don't need to be primed that much and they don't need any throttle input. Leave them at idle when starting, (cold)should only take 1 or 2 pulls on choke until it sputters, then another pull with choke off and it'll purr like a kitten.
Echo makes some great equipment , speaking from years of experience. Stihl is also good but I would go with Echo any day over Stihl. If your thinking of buying a hedge trimmer or a weed wacker Echo is the way to go. There back pack blowers aren't as good as Stihl from my experience.
hi daniel, i have an older homelite blower, and it does not start. i have gotten it to turn overr and run for 2 to 3 seconds but it conks out. i put in a newe spark. do you have any idea of what it could be?
i have an echo and it always starts on the second pull and it is very easy to start, i have used a stihl and it is a little bit harder to start and it starts on third pull.
All the new Echo's are hard to start. They may even try to fire on the first pull but, will die and then you have to fiddle with the choke and give it gas while doing that to keep it running. Echo's are not worth the aggravation and I wish I had never bought a SRM-210 trimmer. Also no carb adjustment screws on their newer crap and they barely reach a decent RPM. Other manufacturers aren't this hard to start so phooey on Echo.
I like BOTH of them!!!! Had ECHO for one year and sold it since I thought I was not going to be needing one any more, then, big mistake. I realized I needed one... so now got me STHIL, and I think its better. German engineer never seems to fail me.
here is what i believe. for chainsaws no question stihl is by far the best. Weed wakers echo any day over stihl husky echo makes the best week wakers on the market. Ok blowers thats a tough one i gotta say stihl and echo are both very good.
yh the fs 310 is sweet. i have 4 fs 400 and 4 fs 310's for my company and i only ever use the fs 400's now on relly relly heavy work like clearing with a saw blade
The blower is a 2005. I'm not sure on the year of the hedge trimmer, a friend gave it to us, but it was kept in very good condition and does not have much use.
nah stihl have got to be better... nobody in england use echo anymore... all us landscapers use stihl.. i have 5 stihl fs400 pro clearing saws and there the best bits of kit around
I have been thinking about getting a Stihl 039 chain saw because I want to cut down some trees around my house. Two questions. One, Do you have to break them in, and two, how much do they cost; (I'm in california so the price may be raised to accomidate the sales tax.
Are you wanting to get an 039 or a 390? The 039 model number was changed to 390 some time ago. I heard the new ones can range from $150-$350, depending on what grade you get, like homeowner, mid range, or professional. As far as I know, no break in is necessary, Just fill it up with 2 cycle gas, bar oil, and you should be ready to go. In fact, most Stihl dealers make sure your saw is ready to cut trees before they hand it to you over the counter.
I was thinking about gettijng a professional version. I want something that the professionals use. And 390 will do. I just want something like yours. I need something with a lot of power and a long bar. I have a mallberry tree that is a foot & a half wide that I might need to cut down.
Well, our 039 is the mid-range version, and it has never let us down. So far, the only job that has been to big for it was a 4' diameter oak lol. But yeah, the 390 should work great, and the pro version would last you a long time.
i am 12 years old and am planning on buying a weed wacker. my budget is nothing over $200 and want a descent trimmer. what is better for the price? echo orProxy-Connection: keep-alive
Cache-Control: max-age=0
0stihl? i have tried homelite and it SUCKS BALLS!!! seriosly it works fine for first time use but after that, it died
Well, I would recommend these three brands: Stihl, Echo, or Husqvarna. Stihl is known for their quality, reliability, and durability world wide. However, they are a little pricy, but you get what you pay for. Echo is known for their reliability. We had a Homeowner style blower that was used at a business daily, and served us faithfully for 25 years. Husqvarna is known mainly for their value, but the quality is a little questionable. It all depends on how much you are going to use the tools.
buy a stihl fs 45 im 13 and i cut grass i got my fs 45 from a guy he had it for his store and it got usted every week throing around not cared for it woorks rilly well
I broke a piston ring while reassembling the engine. I just got the the replacement rings in, so I'm gonna rebuild the engine today (hopefully) and hope it runs. Keep your fingers crossed!
You flooded them by letting it run till it stopped with the choke on instead of taking it off. And the stihl is probably a larger engine, so it can handle the extra fuel more easily.
I'd like to know more about this "4 mix" engine you speak of. Please.
Oh, I see what you're saying. Yes, usually I turn the choke off while the engine is still running. But the request for the video was to leave it on until the engine stopped, so that's why I didn't turn it off this time. The "4 Mix" is a 4 stroke engine, but it runs on 2 cycle fuel for lubrication purposes. It has amazing low RPM torque, and runs at much lower RPMs than a regular 2 cycle engine. Stihl makes the 4 Mix engine, I'm not sure if any other brands make a 4 C engine that uses 2 C fuel.
A regular 4 stroke that uses regualar gas requires oil to lubricate the cylinder. That would add a lot of weight to the engine. So instead of adding extra weight, they use the oil in the 2 cycle fuel to lubricate the engine. Also, the 4 Mix has a Cat. Converter on the exhaust, which causes the engine to burn much cleaner.
Well I would think they are trying to make it burn more efficently is because the california epa standards that these smaller engines have to abide by. Im guessing as well that a stihl 4 stroke is much lighter than what I used to sell craftsman 4 strokes man those were heavy.
My echos start at 1 pull sometimes if I flip the choke quick enough

doesn't help ya flooded the damn things.
krankiev 3 years ago
I don't think I flooded them, I always prime 5 times. Do you think that is too much priming?
DanielJaegerFilms 3 years ago
You flooded them by letting it run till it stopped with the choke on instead of taking it off. And the stihl is probably a larger engine, so it can handle the extra fuel more easily.

DanielJaegerFilms 3 years ago
That doesn't make all that much sense.. why not just use a regular 4 stroke..?
and that's a dumb request! every engine acts different when its flooded. That request calls for an inaccurate experiment.
krankiev 3 years ago
A regular 4 stroke that uses regualar gas requires oil to lubricate the cylinder. That would add a lot of weight to the engine.
