  • Hi mr Van it's Tomas

  • The death of a ship. You work hard to keep her seaworthy, clean, sound and safe, you spend six month on board making her your home..then you have to beach her this way, stop the engines for the last time, shutting off the generators, stopping the ventilation...the ship breaths no more. and you feel so bad......i was on board once in the same occasion. sooo sad!

  • Anyone knows how to find these scrap vessels?? No one seems to like to share the info!!

  • @wwwakinmotorscom The Port of Brownsville,Texas has a yard that scraps old vessels. Some of the items are resold right next to the scrapyard in a small retail location. I pass by once a week to do buisiness in Brownsville, and every time a little more of the ship is taken away. I am an ex U.S. Coast Guardsman and it is sad to see because you do begin respect your vessel as it is all you have miles out at sea. A sad reality, but it is much cheaper for the companies to scrap it and build new. Geo

  • @wwwakinmotorscom, it's quite easy to find ships for sale with e.g. Google.

  • the guy that runs this yard is a million dollar wonder who all it is is scrap metal and people think u have to go 2 uni to do any good it comes down to the one person u

  • @gtirboy1, try to run a shipbreaking yard in a Western country while taking into account all the environmental laws etc. You won't make megabucks anymore...

  • that' looks easier than parallel parking, by a mile

  • amazing how far the ship goes! never seen something like that before.

  • It sounded like he turned the diesels wide open just before he hit the beach. I've never seen one go that far up on land.
