i see alot of comments about knee counters and how they would/would not work. I´ve trained in ma but ive never been in a real fist fight. I just think that you could possibly knee him in the groin when he has his arms low if you create a little space first by pushing his hips and then BANG(id assume that be quite good power) however i feel that would be hard if he has the arms high,itl be hard for me to create distance then. Right or wrong? please some experienced fighters respond XD

XD very much, but if something happens and your knee is caught your in for a painful take down lol, =D Though it kinda stinks because you wouldn't be able to do it because its a sport thing, which isn't fun at all. =( But to be honest with you when someones adrenaline is pumping and they're going crazy, a really powerful groin shot wouldn't end the fight atcually so have some extra tricks in your sleeves. ^_^"

This is the double underhook used in MMA. How in the hell can u call this a bearhug when its the perfect set-up for Roman Greco takedowns or the double leg. Of course they're many ways to defeat this move, that's why speed is important. Go watch the Lyoto Machida vs Tito Ortiz fight and watch Machida use this to takedown Tito.

Ok, i have been studying mixed martial arts for about 7-8 years with some medals, trophies and a high belt ranking to prove, and this bear hug type hold is the worst type of move you can do even to somebody who is unexperienced as there are many ways of dealing with this situation if you are put into it.

This is bad training advise, i am not a even a expert or teacher in any form of self defense.

So in other words never do this to somebody or you will get ko'd lol

in order for you to knee him you need space, you would have to put your hand on his hip and push to get in a good knee.
