  • The designs in this are amazing! I was blown away by the creativity and detail in each of the creatures (?).

  • Does Vancouver Film School focus the most on CG cinematography and animation?

  • @AnsonAdams In our 3D Animation & Visual Effects program, students focus on 3D Animation, Modeling, and Visual Effects. Students from our Film Production program would focus on cinematography as part of their studies. For a full list of our 13 entertainment arts programs, check out vfs(dot)com/programs

  • SO SICK well done!!

  • i am your god and you're imprisoned for eternity in the most secure place, you'll never scape, your head ...

  • cool

  • awesome sound effects!

  • WOW... the modeling is awesome !!!

  • Excellent sound and music, David. Also I thought the voice of the first robot was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.

  • very good sound.

  • Very cool! =)

  • The beginning of this video reminded me of "johnny got his gun".

  • Incredibly original animation - like nothing I've ever seen. It creates a new, fantastic world. But it did remind me a little of the story behind Metallica's "One".

  • that song is about the film Johnny got his gun

  • he doesn't look very concerned or responsive when they drilled his head. maybe he should've been silently screaming?

  • He was blind deaf and had no feelings...

  • Brilliant!

  • Really loved 2:23

  • Sound was tight, really intense.

  • tight

  • Very nice, has a strange feeling, but bloody great!

  • I don't get it, why students make a gropu visual effects and sound, to make a final project, and then they show it. like piece of mind, oriben shabat, made visual effects, and colin jazz made sound.

  • What is there not to get?

This is from the VFS Sound Design for Visual Media program.

They take an existing piece of visual media, usually something really cool, then they re-do the sound for the piece.

How else is a sound designer going to show off their talents?

You can tell who doesn't read the descriptions or the credits when people think VFS did the whole thing.

  • @Snarzellor what i'm trying to say, is, why does the use a visual medio from a guy who is not from VFS, probyded generously by........ see? there's visual efffects program too, and they make a video showing their work, why don't, they combine, to make one project, and two diferent talents? i mean, visual effects, make the awesome effects, and then audio put it, and they both are in VFS, that one video, shows both talents. i don't know if i'm explainable.

  • @goranification

because, if u want to perfect sound u have to use the finished video.. u can make the first audio-lines on the Animatic and pre-renders. but if u didnt, have the finished animation u cant finish the sound deisgn. So if u want to combine that, the graduates of the visuel program have finish first and thats complicated to get in a curriculum. So thats the reason i think they do it this way.

  • aah, yeah, but did you see the making of piece of mind? they both make the video, like the visual says: "i can make that and you a song like that" and the audio says: "yeah, and i make it like that style" and in the proses of videos is going, the audio is following it, i think it can work.

  • yeah but in the Production Industry u have 1st more Time to achieve such results 2nd a constant workflow and pipeline with animatics, prerenders, and other visualisations that will get the first feeling of timing, and what to see. so sounddesign can be done. But the most important thing is u got ahuuuuge team with lots of production experience. They can, a studant have hard times to achive such results (im studying Viz-kom so im know what talking about ;P

  • That was amazing !

  • full feature please

  • very nice

  • wow...outa this world!

  • umm, ya this is some great work.

    thanks, phil

  • Excellent audio, really matched the visuals well!

  • Holy crap!

  • Fantastic

  • Looks like there was some obvious inspiration from Sin City. Good stuff.

  • creepy awesome
