This is exactly what a European town sounds and feels like. This is what my own hometown in Ireland sounds like to me. That's why this is such a great achievement by Yasunori Mitsuda. DEFINITELY the best town theme I've ever heard in a game.

Wow this song's amazing. It seems to me exactly the same that what the songs represents, a calm town at the end of the day, with the sky a little orange or red, in autumn with a calm wind. The game itself is really good, like the entire series. For those who like a little of mystery and somewhat gothic style, this gam's perfect =)

@TheSlayerAira Me too! In this years' summer vacation I actually listened to it a whole 72 hours without one stop. I was alone at home so I could let it go on even as I went to bed. You know, it did that with a couple of other songs before and I honestly think I can never hear them again, but this theme is just different. Even tough I listened to it so much, I still love it! Yep, it's just that damn good.

@SexylilKat You are so right. Shadow Hearts 2 is probably one of the most under-rated games of all time. The whole game was amazing. If it were just a little less Japanese, it would have been perfect. It came out the same time as final fantasy X so it got skipped over, but everyone who has seen it or played it has loved it as far as I can tell.

whoever made the SH series really has taste in storyline,monsters,characters, and music.

you wouldn't believe me but whenever I used this soundtrack for a homework (slideshow and stuff like that about documentary -.-) I always got the best note ^^

I love to listen this when it's autumn and when it's still warm, colorful. I live in Europe, in a small ''city'' , you could rather call it a village and this place resembles villages in Shadow Hearts since this place locates in forrest and there's a looong way to a city from here.

Anyone notice almost all Mitsuda tracks sorta have a similar feel to them. He uses a lot of very original sounding minor chords, that make it sound happy/sad. Kinda hard to explain if you don't understand music theory but either way this man is a genius.

I didn't expect it to be as good as Covenant and I knew that Yuri was not in it but I still had high hopes for the game. The beginning was different from the Shadow Hearts I knew but it kept me interested as a normal junior detective living in NY was dragged into a very strange mess. I felt almost as if it wasn't a Shadow Hearts game up until I passed Las Vegas and I started to really get a feel for it. The game was very different but I came to terms with that and had faith in it.

Half of the characters were too weird to get attached to and the games level of weirdness sometimes made me uninterested but as I continued I started liking the game more and more. In the end, it's a great game imo especially compared to most rpgs but it didn't come close to stealing the crown from Covenant. The game had character but the actual characters weren't as likable as I had hoped. The story wasn't as good but the game made up for that for me with it's great looking animations.

Overall gameplay-wise and graphics-wise I liked it better but the other points were definitely a let down. Covenant was a perfect game imo and FTNW definitely wasn't as amazing as it's predecessors but it is still an amazingly fun game that I believe any rpg fan should buy.

yes, i agree that the characters in FTNW are very weird and underdeveloped. some are okay and kind of funny but the cast in Covenant is a lot better. FTNW is a decent RPG, but the story is not really all that good. i wanted to quit halfway through the game, but by doing more sidequests, it did get more interesting so i did eventually finish it.

Yeah I didn't really like it much till after Las Vegas but after that I definitely thought the game was a lot better. From normal rpg standard SH gets a 9/10 SH Covenant gets 10/10 and FTNW gets 8/10. Anyway that's just my 2 cents on the series. =P I've played through FTNW 3 times now, Covenant 4 times and the first one 2 times. XD I hope the series will be revived soon because I can't get my mind wrapped around the thought of the SH series being dead... T_T

yeah definitely 10/10 for covenant. for FTNW i'd probably give it 7/10. haven't played the first one yet. i do hope that they make more SH games too.. hopefully they'll make it darker and more serious like Covenant.

lol well theres a point in the game towards the end if you save it on your memory card at a point in the end you have to make a chose on the to questions or answers they gave you basically one is the good ending and one is the bad but keep the saved data and reload it and fight the boss again with the other chose they give you XD and you get the good and bad in one sit throw. well thats what i did but it was a long time ago so i may be wrong lol but it was something like that. BEST GAME EVER!!!!

The game has the BEST graphics compared to any other PS2 title, the BGM is by far superior to many others with only a few competing against it, and the story is fascinating and keeps you intrigued every second. This song is the best option for long boring train rides on my way to college xD

This game is Shadow Hearts Covenant, which is the 2nd in the series (3 total). Covenant is probably in my top 3 RPGs in the last generation so yeah, I absolutely loved it. Playing the first SH before is a good idea as well since Covenant is a direct sequel story-wise, though you can perfectly enjoy Covenant without having played it.

I recommend this game to any RPG fan.
