@Hereticalrein Synapse creatures used to be immune to instant death in the old codex but they removed that ability in the new codex, because it gave it to both the synapse creatures and to the creatures that were under their influence. It would have been nice if they would have left it but changed it to either a wargear choice for only the model that pays for it or only on specific models in the first place, mainly HQs. But between dropping that and upping costs i don't know what is worse.

I hate how 40k is about rolling rolling rolling tons of dice, ending up doing nothing or very little at beest. They need to cut some dice rolling in 6th ed!

@hellspawnds I agree, you should not only get 1 wound if you shoot at a squad 20+ times unless they just roll godly and you just roll shit. I mean even the whole roll 10, to hit 5, to wound 2, and they save 1 and then feel no pain that other 1 and you did nothing. And then have other armies that roll 10, to hit 8, to wound 7, and you save 1 and have no feel no pain. Is there a lot of dice rolling yes but its the nature of the game. Is there a lot of unbalanced dice rolling very much yes.

So Matt you have been playing Nids for some time now how do you feel about the changes to the rules for 5th ed. I have been having lots of trouble with the army no matter who or what I play against. I have tried just about everything under the sun and i own just over 6k pts in models. I can field anything but fast attacks (only have ravs) and I can not find any lists that have worked for me yet. It may just be my tactics but I have been playing the army since Jan and play AT LEAST one every week

@nithia Use Genestealers. Seriously those bastards are cheaper then a Sphees Mehreens and hit damn hard. Combine their outstanding CC capabilities with infiltrate so they can't get shot at before they have already engaged a squad. As an IG player i am having trouble with them popping up and killing my command squads and generally causing havoc on my troops.

@TheNinjazorz Ya i have tried using genestealers all three ways; everything but genestealer spam but everyone at my GW takes lots and lots of armor and granted i can use the massive number of attacks to rend tanks to death and just use their god like CC abilities against INF but most of them also have lots of AP and flamers and i always seem to get screwed with the terrain, as in i can only inf on my side usually and then i have to walk in NML and outflanking would be suicide most of my games.

You should try a list similar to 3 trygons, 3 tervigons (1HQ), and 3 units of 3 tyrant guard with filler gaunts.

@shepherd090 I guess you mean Hive Guards, and not Tyrant Guards. And this list has one big problem, it's really boring to play with, as most spam lists are. Using different kind of units, and special characters gives the game more soul ,in my opinion.

furioso dread can only use 1 power per turn (not per player turn) so he couldn't instant kill that tervigon as he flew in his turn.

@USISpongeman Check the most recent FAQ; it specifies that unless game turn is specifically stated, the term "turn" denotes player turn. This means that he can use one power in each players turn.

Dante, Sangunary Guard, Librian Dread and Storm Raven and he called that a Non Tourney/Competitive list... Ole One Eye is a jugernaut in cc, you just had too many against you in part 2.... all in all a good game but to see Nids get out charged by marines..... ouch.

@kaisersozzie agreed, the blood angel guy brought a way, way more powerful list. The codex is so good it's allmost hard not to lol, just joking. They've sure come a long way since I played them in 2nd/3rd edition. I played them the first edition that they featured Dante, Mephiston, and the cup-bearer guy. I used to put the cup-bearer in a mob of death company ;-).

@uchihatheitachi Look for a Local Hobby store, It's always best to have a local place to get your paint incase you forget a color you need (don't have to wait a week plus to get it). There are plenty of mom and pop hobby stores around still that sell paints. Comic book stores might also have them, and bigger chain stores like hobbytown sell paints as well. If you can't find anything close to you decide what color scheme you want to paint, make a list of all the colors you will need cont.

@uchihatheitachi and get them online where you bought your miniatures. Citadel paints, vallejo paints, and reaper paints are most popular, and you really can't go wrong with any of those. The key to remember is usually for every color you see on a model there are three paints, a darker shade for the base color, a main color, and a lighter shade for the highlights. Army painter makes a great spray primer, and I suggest using it as well.
