  • Don't forget: JC Fogerty IS the song writer ! Not Turner !!

  • I love this band. All the songs are great. Speaking of which. Have a listen to JF "Don't you wish it where true". It's great

  • i Hate the Cover Elvis Did

Tina and Ike's Cover on the other hand was Kick ass!

  • legend

    anass from morocco

  • LEGEND!

  • se la rifaron los creeandene kon esa rolita..att-kokito.tucan y chaka

  • I noticed Fogerty is playing in E major while the rhythm is in D major. He must have his guitar tuned down a step.

  • Here is a quote from a Feb.08 Guitarplayer interview with JF about that very thing...

<<<I made that D-to-D tuning part of my style way, way back. I think that Proud Mary was the first song I used it on. Also, Bootleg, off of Bayou Country, and, of course, Bad Moon Rising. One of the things I can say that I discovered was tuning a Les Paul down a whole step, and playing it in standard position. That just gives you this great huge sound.

  • Thanks for this information.

  • i think its Am

  • youre right

  • do you happen to know where the real tabs are for this song? I can only find tabs in c major

  • The intro goes c a c a c a g f then to D. the song is sung in D Major

  • huh? quit analyzing and just listen to greatness!

  • Those spiral cords were great, they kept out of the way, but these days its almost impossible to utilize a spiral cord because you usually have a pedal on the ground. Unless your amp came with a footswitch, but why worry about having a cord on the ground when the footswitch cord has to be on the floor anyways.

  • Well, he did get a longer cable for The Old Man Down the Road. That sucker was MILES long.

  • Looks like one of those spiral guitar cords that stretch. At least he never stepped on it !

  • Holy crap. I just realized that this song was about pot. lolol

  • haha how so? i'm pretty sure that you can relate most any song to drugs of some type, especially beatles songs lol

  • And Rolling Stones songs too!

  • Every song from the 70's is about drugs

  • CCR was very much against drug use. It wasn't about pot you stoner.

  • I don't think any of you know if it's about weed or not, and you prolly never will. Even if fogerty said publically it wasn''t, maybe privately he'd say it was.

  • It was certainly common knowledge in the rock and roll community at the time, how straight Fogerty was.

  • Not only did he need a 15mtr cable, he was crying out for a hairdresser and a Fashion Guru!

But hell everybody else in the music biz was just as bad or worse at that time (think Elton John!) But the incomparable music that emerged in the 70s from countless Artists was of a standard that can only be described as Magnificent. Even the manufactured Boy bands of that era would have pissed all over the Greenday's U2's and Nickleback's of the present

  • the 70's were the pinnacle of rock & roll music, there are so many great artists, just look at how many were on the midnight special & you get an idea, by the mid 80's things went downhill, Michael jackson's "Thriller" was one of the last great lps to come out, and it took about a decade to realize it was over & the bands from the 50's on up were what was left & still great to enjoy..You had the grunge scene & of course rap, but today its these past artists that are still shining.

  • i have a longer cable if he needs it hehe

  • haha yeah seriously.. hes on like a 10 foot line. lmao

  • Someone get John Fogerty a longer guitar cable. My goodness.

  • CCR by far greatest band in the history of music

  • lol

  • Well, one of them.

  • no it is the best band in the world

  • i totally agree with that

  • Tina Turner was the classic lets take a good selling song and speed up the tempo and change the sound in relation to the pop music style of the era and voilla make millions.

    Crap.

Long live CCR long live musical sound and instrumental talent. All the sounds on this track come from the band, not a hired or synthesized orchestra or other variety of instruments played by joe schmoes who don't get credit.

  • i know this is an old post but i had to say it. Ike turner was a bona fide musician. thier version is comparable to what hendrix did for bob dylan's all along the watchtower. say what you want about pop, but old time tina is CLASSIC soul. she's an amazing performer, just like CCR. I'm curious as to what you think about Janis Joplin, as she definitly did many covers and played nothing but the tamborine.

  • janis was unique, a great blues vocalist, she did covers as well as her own..she is regarded as a legend today..there are many singers who don't play an instrument, it means nothing, if they are a great vocalist that is what counts..& both Tina & Janis were great.

  • I wasn't knocking Janis, I love her too. I was mostly defending Tina Turner.

  • This is great. Can't stand the Tina Turner version.

  • Why, She did it different, both versoins are very good.

  • no its not

  • lol i was reacting to cutchswife's post and now its standing here very strange and yes ccr is the best band in the world dont misunderstand me i love ccr

  • LOL at fogerty's jack

  • CCR KICKS ASS!

  • es otro nivel creedence

  • talking shit ya beaner

  • Cool hair and a great song!

  • i love gettin druged out and watchin music videos

  • i love the video its like one of the greatest songs ever in my opinion

  • good video great song

  • love it

  • best voice ever, no doubt

  • I'm totally hook with CCR & John Fogerty. Still am after 30 odd years ago. Love it.

  • This song will NEVER get old! Classic at its best.

  • All CCR songs will never get old. All classics. :)

  • When I first fell into the catchy "Proud Mary" intro and fresh beat on the road, I couldn't help to think the band Creedence Clearwater Revival and singer John Fogerty (what a way to spel the lyrics!) were a group of well known afroamerican musicians, but they were so young at Fantasy Records then and what an enormous jewels they recorded at the 60's, the river boat queen pumped a lot of pain but burnt its flame worldwide!

  • Soon He is back on the stage and Rock again 37 years ago and the music still rocks world wide. Greeeeat Music from the king the boss of CCR

  • God I absolutely love CCR.... I can't remember not loving them....

  • This is the original, played by mister Creedence himself. and he know's how to play this song Damn good! :)

  • 100 times better than tina! of course.

  • I am going to have to disagree with you. John is awesome, but can he sing the song and dance...in high heels? Both versions are great, but I think Tina put on a better show.

  • superb group!, people forget how many great songs they wrote and have been covered by many other artists!, there music will go on for ever!!!!!!!!!!.

  • Wow, that was back when people could play music - listen to them rock and roll !

    What happened ???

  • great music from creedence i like tolisten to it using my tube-amplifier that way its sounds the best good guitar play nice

  • One of the greatest rockbands!

  • not as good as tina.
