I loved this film as a young teenager. It was everything I wanted, fighting... Kung Fu... Lauren Holly. It's flawed for sure, but it's awesome too. I can't believe they didn't use the music from the film in the trailer? Ironic because the music from this film is used in the trailers for other films all the time. Most notably Forrest Gump.

The problem w/ this movie is that the director and writer didn't take this seriously. Parts of Bruce's life were twisted and rearranged to fit their version of a mystic martial arts flick. It should've been a straight forward biopic, but instead they just wanted to make a magical action movie w/ few serious scenes of Bruce Lee's real life. The actors were great don't get me wrong (Jason Scott Lee did a great job). Heck I own this movie beacuse of Jason Scott Lee's performance!

This would have been a great movie if it wasn't tainted by Hollywood. This movie just caused more confusion about who Bruce was, about his life, and the concepts of JKD. Its really sad... I hope one day a more acurate film is made of his life that does not portray Bruce Lee, but is Bruce Lee.

They used a book written by his widow as the source work. and to be honest they got more right than they got wrong. There can never be a work that is wholly acurate because frankly he was a controversial if gifted man. Someone would always have something to complain about.
