Perfect beginners bike, just done my first 1000miles. No bike learns to use gear and clutch better than a sixspeed-125 with its narrow powerband. And if you make beginners mistakes, you get away with it, not so on real superbike...
@lbennyn I'd rather go for the yamaha yzf r125 then, as this bike is way taller the the cbr 125....I own a yamaha yzf r125, and I'm about 183 centimeters, and it fits me perfect, the cbr 125 i too low for me, its not really comfortable for me. so I'd rather buy the yamaha. you could also check out some other bikes, cant say for sure since I havent been riding for so long my self. but if you are a tall person, don go for the cbr.
I bought the Kawasaki Ninja 250 as a starter. There's nothing wrong with small bikes if you're a beginner. Besides the maneuverability on a small bike is alot better.

I have tested a standard cbr 125 on a dynometer and they only produce 9.2 b.h.p at the back wheel, top speed is a genuine 69 m.p.h on standard gearing and they arent even restricted, nice chassis but horrible ancient engine, not a sports bike at all

if u want a bike that goes fast everywhere, get aan aprilla rs, BUT if u want a bike that dosent fall apart and rattke like a slut, and melt it's own fairing, get a cbr,
it's SO reliable, i've had 96mph from mine,
not all the time, but it get there, mostly just 85mph,
and no, inclines arnt a problem, its a bit sluggish on very steap hills, but, it makes up for it with amazing handling and reliablity,
im swapping in my aprilia rs125 for the cbr , after test riding the cbr i realised just how delicate and flimsy the rs was..and although with the tuned 2 stroke its quicker and more respnsive , i just prefer the cbr
i have to say i love it although i only ridden a cb125 and cbr125. the cbr125 is a good bike for a beginner, something to learn on. If you make a mistake on it you wont be punished harsh. Yes there are better looking bigger bikes out there but you have to take into consideration age and experience. if you are 21 or over and begginer than perhaps a ninja 250 is more to your liking, if under 21 then only choice is 125cc

although its only a 125 , i still prefure it to my r1, when you are doing city driving, speed is not somthing you really need entirly , i like the light wieght and easy handeling of this bike(Y)

Dude Harleys suck ass so hard in the performance area that the aren't even comparable to the sport bikes!
And dollars to donuts that this little 125 would rape the harleys in all the corners which is where the real skill on a motorcycle lies. I ride a vfr 400 and Harleys just eat my dust everywhere period. Remember, that ya Harleys got power but they're also hella heavy and don't handle worth shit.
Final decision, never ever compare Harleys to jap sports bikes, it's just not fair !!

I am not even into HD's I own a 1000 blade and a RVF400. My point was when I learnt to ride I learnt on the 400 only because in my country they restrict you to a certain power to weight and I stand firm on 125 are for fagz or girls ....

I have tested a standard cbr 125 on a dynometer and they only produce 9.2 b.h.p at the back wheel, top speed is a genuine 69 m.p.h on standard gearing and they arent even restricted, nice chassis but horrible ancient engine, not a sports bike at all

it's an amazing bike,
if u want a bike that goes fast everywhere, get aan aprilla rs, BUT if u want a bike that dosent fall apart and rattke like a slut, and melt it's own fairing, get a cbr,
it's SO reliable, i've had 96mph from mine,
not all the time, but it get there, mostly just 85mph,
and no, inclines arnt a problem, its a bit sluggish on very steap hills, but, it makes up for it with amazing handling and reliablity,

im swapping in my aprilia rs125 for the cbr , after test riding the cbr i realised just how delicate and flimsy the rs was..and although with the tuned 2 stroke its quicker and more respnsive , i just prefer the cbr

i have to say i love it although i only ridden a cb125 and cbr125. the cbr125 is a good bike for a beginner, something to learn on. If you make a mistake on it you wont be punished harsh. Yes there are better looking bigger bikes out there but you have to take into consideration age and experience. if you are 21 or over and begginer than perhaps a ninja 250 is more to your liking, if under 21 then only choice is 125cc
