really? because we dont use props. we use marching basics? have you ever done a razzle dazzle, around the box, then a box-diamond formation straight after each other? no. so before you say anymore crap, try surviving a year in the GWHS Tradition of Excellence Marching Band.

@katieandkatieshow Katie, I used to think I knew everything about marching band in high school. Then I discovered that I really knew nothing. I started marching drum corps, and realized that I hadn't been taught much about marching technique, and that the drill I had marched was remedial. GWHS is a great band, and I learned a lot when I was in it, but you should definitely check out some other band programs outside of WV, and check out some drum corps like the Cadets or Phantom Regiment.

OK I'm in the GW band... we do WAY harder stuff than crapital! we ACTUALLY work hard and DON'T over-blow our trumpets and brass. that's WHY WE're the STATE HONOR BAND. that's why WE're the TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE. that's why WE're the GW BAND.

GW is great! but Capitol Could take these guys on any day!!! Theyve won the Daily Mail Festival 6 years in a row now , and GW is always 2nd because the BOX doesn't win thats all that they ever do is a box and a line or two and just strait easy stuff , thats why they have failed every year thinking they are the best , they are a great band , but they need to get some new stuff and quit goin with no props and all that stuff still GREAT JOB Capitol is the only band to win 6 yrs n a row again! 03-09

congrats...you won by like a 100th of a point last year...and thats cuz you had props. we dont believe in that shit because we dont need props to sound good. all they do is distract the judges from shitty marching anyway. and really, you try doing a box-diamond transformation. its hard as fuck.
