@rieper96 First you have to remove the plants that naturally grow in the area on a ground that is possibly not sutied for its growth, potentially making the ground infertile and making fertilization necessary which can influence the flora even further, changing the circumstances for the local animals which are dependant on the growing plants.
In South-East Asian countries it is common to burn down entire forests for the growing of crops. You wouldn't question the negative consequences there.

@Trisscarro The bottom line is this, people should be able to do what they want, as long as it does not affect other people. Legalizing weed is a huge step forward, the government could tax it and make lots of money, it would be a much more controlled substance, meaning you know exactly what you're getting. Less taxpayers money would go on the war against drugs and putting perfectly normal people behind bars, solving overcrowding in prisons. When are people going to come to their senses?
