Love this movie. As he says, everybody can benefit(Christian or not)from this money. My husband and I cry buckets in the theater when we saw this movie. That was one time in 3 years that we made an exeption and went to see one of those scarse yet wonderful written movies specially because emphasizes in one of the subjects that lately, as the director said, has been attacked and dishonor by society in the last decades. Every person planning to get engage or married should watch this movie.
I love this movie! Sherwood has very good movies! Erin did a really good job in her role! Flywheel, Facing the Giants and Fireproof are the best movies I have ever seen.!! I can't wait to see Courageous that comes out in 2011!!

This is a seismically terrible film, but a blast to watch with friends, in the same way it is to watch, say, The Room or other so bad-it's-good films. The problem with this one, is the message that somehow God has anything to do with a relationship. He said in the end of the movie, where he and his wife run to each other and kiss, they used his real wife. Because she is in silhouette, she looks like Erin. Kirk didn't want to kiss a woman who wasn't his wife, even though it was acting. They brought in his real wife to bless him.
I like this movie. It faces the modern problem of our society AND It shows how REAS God is - and people who experienced the great changes God did to them understand and love this movie even more because they know this is not a fairy tale - it´s the truth. That makes this movie a great movie!

For many people is a good movie because it has a great message that reach them and apply to their lives...beyond showing problems in marriage, show how your life can be touched possitively by God and His love for us all, and from that point make drastic changes in your life that will lead you to happiness. It has a great message. It really does. A message alone can't carry a film though. That is what this is. A film! If this was a tool specifically made for struggling marriages that they sold in Lifeway I would say that this was a very successful project in every way. However, it is a film that was released nationwide and it barely adheres to all forms of film making. I'm not dissing the message, I just want to know what redeeming qualities this film has as a film.

Sony picked it up and we see the quality has improved in the way it is lighted, filmed, etc. As I said in another post, this story speaks to the hearts of many Christians. David Nixon (the director) just finished filming a new film called "Letters to God." It's about this boy named Tyler who is diagnosed with cancer and he writes these letters to God. And this postman who is going through his own troubles finds these letters and doesn't know what to do with them. It is partially based on a true story. I had the pleasure of meeting the father of the real Tyler and he is hoping this film relays the message "Hope is contagious" Comes out early next year!

Although this topic is nothing to get angry about, I think you are right to an extent. The film does not properly define love. 1 Corinthians 13 offers the best definition of unconditional love though. This love is obviously not demonstrated in the film by the characters, nor do I think it should be. The "Christians" in the film are all ready portrayed as not having many problems.

Why do you think that that is what makes a good and popular movie? You can't blame Hollywood for making movies filled with violence and sex because people still go see the stuff. We dictate what they make if it sells. The problem with the movie is that it is poorly made and poorly told. It's not a bad story. A good film maker could make it work. Keep in mind that you are judging it as a film, not some religious experience. It is a movie and must be judged as such.
Sure, the acting is not professional, but this movie does far better than most hollywood movies at involving you emotionally in the characters and the message is profound. I think the script and plot are the key to a good movie more than anything else.
This movie was the starting point for a drastic change in our marriage. My husband then started reading the "left behind" books and I can see him becoming a man of God. I was even a little surprised to find him with his face on the ground praying. He still slips into the old nature now and then but so do we all.
I'm a newlywed and have been with my Husband for 6 years. I feel that we have a better marriage and thanks to the strong message of this movie it really taught me that no marriage is perfect but no matter what you should never stop showing-proving your love. I have to agree. I love this movie and can watch it over and over. The acting is pretty bad in some scenes. Some aren't too bad though. The whole story and the message(s) are amazing and really can and do help people. Thats what makes it a good movie.
To some extent yes, this move is not as good as some I have seen. But in its favor, I have to say that I took several non-christian friends to see it, and they enjoyed it thoughoughly. As for other Christians getting pissed, please remember that to them, this is the first time in a long time that movies that are decidedly christian have seen such favorable publicity.
And that's really my problem with it. It is the first time in a long time that Christians have been able to get a movie out there and it is a shame that it is a "Christian movie, made by Christians for Christians". I would have hoped to see a little bit more of an effort on their part.

What a great movie! I went to see it with my estranged wife who filed for divorce in July of this year. We both cried and I just knew this movie saved my marriage. That is, until she recently went back to the sex orgy that she craves. Her tears were crocodile tears and now she brags to me about how much cum she swallows nightly, while I cry and spend my Thanksgiving and other holidays completely alone, without my 10 month old son who she grabbed and hides from me for child-support checks.

@Mschristomlinfan Kirk Cameron is married (he met his wife when he was doing Growing Pains in the 1980's. I believe he has six kids. He said in the end of the movie, where he and his wife run to each other and kiss, they used his real wife. Because she is in silhouette, she looks like Erin. Kirk didn't want to kiss a woman who wasn't his wife, even though it was acting. They brought in his real wife to bless him.

I like this movie. It faces the modern problem of our society AND It shows how REAS God is - and people who experienced the great changes God did to them understand and love this movie even more because they know this is not a fairy tale - it´s the truth. That makes this movie a great movie!

For many people is a good movie because it has a great message that reach them and apply to their lives...beyond showing problems in marriage, show how your life can be touched possitively by God and His love for us all, and from that point make drastic changes in your life that will lead you to happiness. It´s Ok if you don´t like it but you can not denied it has a great message.

It has a great message. It really does. A message alone can't carry a film though. That is what this is. A film! If this was a tool specifically made for struggling marriages that they sold in Lifeway I would say that this was a very successful project in every way. However, it is a film that was released nationwide and it barely adheres to all forms of film making. I'm not dissing the message, I just want to know what redeeming qualities this film has as a film.

I love that asked for someone to not talk about the message and that's all you did. I understand the message. I really do. Why does that particular message make a good film though? Why do I have to excuse horrible acting, writing, editing, cinematography, and directing because it had a good message. @crf450eit I love this movie. I think this church has been producing better and better films. Sony picked it up and we see the quality has improved in the way it is lighted, filmed, etc. As I said in another post, this story speaks to the hearts of many Christians. The theme is what makes it the best. It is the opposite of the garbage out there that glorifies the deeds of the devil and his ability to rip marriages apart. For once, this is meeting peoples needs and healing lives/ marriages

David Nixon (the director) just finished filming a new film called "Letters to God." It's about this boy named Tyler who is diagnosed with cancer and he writes these letters to God. And this postman who is going through his own troubles finds these letters and doesn't know what to do with them. It is partially based on a true story. I had the pleasure of meeting the father of the real Tyler and he is hoping this film relays the message "Hope is contagious" Comes out early next year!

Since 70% to 80% of all divorces in the US are filed by woman. Who really is it that isn't applying Pauls philosophy? Instead they look at his definition and think it applies to their husband only in the form of great expectation and the second you do that you turn that philosophy into judgement. So is love then judgement? I guess to the female mind it is. Look at some of the examples in this show. Look at the statistics.

But if you don't get it right with the church, who is supposed to be the example to the world, then the example will be corrupt. The fact of the matter is that christian couples are also under attack by relationship destruction. The movie helps the christian, the christian helps the world. It's always been God's plan to have his people evangelize not a movie. But the movie is a tool to encourage or repair those believers who will be sent.

I must say I liked the movie and thought it had a good message but I have to agree with crf450eit about a movie made by Christians for Christians. Why couldn't the directors make the same movie without the smack you in the face with Jesus? Horrible acting, cheesy movie, bad script as it demonizes men, but does nothing to address the result of feminism upon marriage. I dare you to watch it from that viewpoint. This movie does nothing but promotes the idea that the male is to live up to every great expectation of his spouse or be kicked to the curb. But her choice to be a wife and what that choice means is never addressed. It comes from the "I am worth it attitude" of the modern female.
I liken it to worshipping Goddess Ashterah.

You miss the whole point of this movie, its about love, unconditional love by both parties, the small glint and glimer of gods love for us, even when we dont deserive it, or need it, its still there, by understanding that by doing that by living in that with jesus and god as an anchor is what marraige is all about, better or worse, sick or poorer it dosnt matter its a coveant period. A man needs to love his wife, and the wife respect her husband. Thats gods commandment, check the bible yourself.

Although this topic is nothing to get angry about, I think you are right to an extent. The film does not properly define love. 1 Corinthians 13 offers the best definition of unconditional love though. This love is obviously not demonstrated in the film by the characters, nor do I think it should be. The "Christians" in the film are all ready portrayed as not having many problems.
All in all, it is just bad writing.
And for any of you who say I am not a Christian for my opinion. Grow up.

Why do you think that that is what makes a good and popular movie? You can't blame Hollywood for making movies filled with violence and sex because people still go see the stuff. We dictate what they make if it sells. The problem with the movie is that it is poorly made and poorly told. It's not a bad story. A good film maker could make it work. Keep in mind that you are judging it as a film, not some religious experience. It is a movie and must be judged as such.

Sure, the acting is not professional, but this movie does far better than most hollywood movies at involving you emotionally in the characters and the message is profound. I think the script and plot are the key to a good movie more than anything else.

This movie was the starting point for a drastic change in our marriage. My husband then started reading the "left behind" books and I can see him becoming a man of God. I was even a little surprised to find him with his face on the ground praying. He still slips into the old nature now and then but so do we all.

I'm a newlywed and have been with my Husband for 6 years. I feel that we have a better marriage and thanks to the strong message of this movie it really taught me that no marriage is perfect but no matter what you should never stop showing-proving your love. I am a Christian. I have been for 15 years. Just because I don't like the movie doesn't mean I don't like God. I don't find it offensive either. I think that that is wrong of you to assume that.
This is just a poor execution of cinema. I'm not talking about the message. The message is great. It comes off though way to strong. Imagine if you were lost and had your reserves about the Christian faith. It comes off as obnoxious sometimes in the movie.

I have to agree. I love this movie and can watch it over and over. The acting is pretty bad in some scenes. Some aren't too bad though. The whole story and the message(s) are amazing and really can and do help people. Thats what makes it a good movie.

To some extent yes, this move is not as good as some I have seen. But in its favor, I have to say that I took several non-christian friends to see it, and they enjoyed it thoughoughly. As for other Christians getting pissed, please remember that to them, this is the first time in a long time that movies that are decidedly christian have seen such favorable publicity.

And that's really my problem with it. It is the first time in a long time that Christians have been able to get a movie out there and it is a shame that it is a "Christian movie, made by Christians for Christians". I would have hoped to see a little bit more of an effort on their part.
Secondly, film is an art form. I don't care what you are trying to get across, you shouldn't have to give grace to a film just because of it's venue, makers, etc.

What a great movie! I went to see it with my estranged wife who filed for divorce in July of this year. We both cried and I just knew this movie saved my marriage. That is, until she recently went back to the sex orgy that she craves. Her tears were crocodile tears and now she brags to me about how much cum she swallows nightly, while I cry and spend my Thanksgiving and other holidays completely alone, without my 10 month old son who she grabbed and hides from me for child-support checks.

i dunno.. i just watched the trailer and i think it pissed me off to bad to sit through an entire movie of his wife being a cold bitch while he grovels around! if its over... its over, why should he have to beg and plead his wife to stay if she dont want to??

Because God showed us longsuffering and patience and he expects us to do the same. Forgiveness takes time, especially when you've been hurt. Haven't you seen the whole movie? He really hurt her through his actions. He is graveling because he deserves to.

I hope you also remember that it was his fault why she was like that. It wasn't that she just stopped loving him and wanted out. He didn't respect her and sat around watching trash on the computer. Everything he got was what he had deserved. He had to work again to regain her trust and love. I really think you should watch this movie. It truly is beautiful. It's also pretty hilarious at times.

I am 20 years old and I saw this movie with my boyfriend and his parents about two weeks ago and it is the most inspirational movie I have ever seen. I have ordered the love dare book and cannot wait to start the process to make a great relationship even stronger and closer with god.

My wife and I saw this movie last Saturday and I can't tell you when I ever saw a better movie. I am planning on taking my kids to see it next time. It's truly inspirational and moving.

I saw this movie last night with my husband. We are struggling with our marriage and we were both moved by this movie. It was awesome and recommend everyone take time to see it. I am so happy that there are quality movies to see like this.
