  • Are they trained?

  • @silvershadow1010 yes a little:-)

  • in the 1950's before we escaped Cuba(1961) my father had 40 tomeguins(cuban

finches) he had a huge cage in the backyard and would let them out every morning

to fly free, by dusk every single one would be back in the cage for their nights sleep.

he had the cage where nothing could get in(not even the thinnest of snakes. my

father is 84 now and we live in Hialeah, FL and he raises canaries, i have parakeets and one i let free fly in the backyard he only goes 30yrds away before he heads back

  • Yesterday, I was outside, watched a hawk dive on a group of sparrows and take the damn sparrow up into a tree to eat it. I've been watching tons of videos with their pets birds outside and was wanting to let mine finally go out- then I saw this hawk thing. Maybe not till later.

  • OMG! they actually come back to you?? Whoa..,. they must really like you!

  • this is cool!!!

I want my birds to train that

    but Im scared!!lol

    how did u train it??^^

  • build trust in it.... mine loves me never wants to leave me lol. like i can just chuck it in air then he flys back you build trusts =D

  • How is this done? What was your method to train it like this? I want my Cockatiel to do that!!!!

    Impressive!!!!!!

  • that's cool but dangerous, watch out for predators like hawks or eagles!!! your cockatiel would be surely an easy meal for them!
