Nightbreed was one of my favorite movies as a kid...i had forgotten how very cool the movie was and still enjoy reading "cabal" every now and again whenever life gets too crappy for me.

I loved this movie as a kid.Still creepy and great makeup effects but some of the monsters could have been done better.The beserkers look like furry earwax cliots in my opinion.Too bad Craig Shieffer is such a tool now. I used to think he was a bad ass now hes a fat ass.

My first upload was pretty basic, i had nothing to say, just wanted to share my favorite movies with you. I was thinking about uploading my favorite scene from Hellraiser but it already has been uploaded. look at the great make up effects - you just dont see stuff like that anymore, studios seem to think you can get the same effect from CGI (They are wrong) - (Hellboy is good tho)

@TheFesta01 hellboy mixes it with alot of makeup, props, etc and then finsihes it off with cgi (the director also did it wiith blade2) it looks so much better then full cgi or just make-up.

@HLZoner go on blinx remote go to movies and write in nightbreed u can watch there for free, i only read a little of the book it starts in deckers office.the movie is great it was suppossed to be an epic like starwars 6 movies were to be made but due to bad publicity a shitty poster the idea didnt take off barker gave up on it hope that helps mate.if u like clive barker books read weaveworld its set in liverpool 5 mins away from where i live great book!! "PEOPLE WILL READ AGAIN"!

uncut, NIGHTBREED is about 2 hours 20 mins long aprox, the cut version is only 1 hour 30 mins, a whole grass roots movement and vocal support for a directors cut is asking for a release, morgan creek wont release it in todays market, but it is by no means a definite "NO", i would love to see this film reassemebled into its original form, a near masterpiece in the making; a hym to the monsterous, and the citizen kane of monster movies, long live Clive Barker, and long live NIGHTBREED!

Very nice clip! I like how you combined it: the trip to Midian, Boones search in it and then finally its inhabitants. I think the music works just great because it gives the whole thing a dream-like quality. Especially the night time scene with creatures running through Midian! With a quicker music that would have been to much like a carnival. I like it a lot more the way you combined it.

Only possible thing to change: I would have liked that scene 2:40-2:42 best for the ending.

Gosh, I've been a Barker fan for ages and I just can't seem to get enough, there's always something to find from him that astounds... He was a film maker ahead of his time in many cases. This one looks to be as impressive as Lord of Illusions. I just wish that Midnight Meat Train and Pigs Blood Blue wouldn't be under such scrutiny, the world needs his work!!

That was supposedly Barker's original idea and the metaphor can be found in both the film and the book. When I heard this I shit myself! (not literally!) but watch the film again with this in mind and you'll spot it straight away!

I'm also straight and when I first saw it I thought of an outcast individual rising up against the forces against him---I think the gay subtext is underplayed to give a more universal appeal. Plus, it's kind of a tribute to anyone that liked monster movies as a kid, in a grand way.

I'd like to see the footage, too. I good treat would be the theatrical release alongside an extended, alternate version in the same package. Sadly, that may never happen. At least Hellraiser and Lord of Illusions got better treatment (even MGM promised an unrated product of the latter and owned up).

Nightbreed was too wild and "dangerous" in the original vision.. Even some of the dialogue injects more humor than his other films, maybe to soften the impact.

If you go to CliveBarker Revelations website, it will tell you the Sypnosis of the deleted scenes, and to correct Anakin, it was actually 25 minutes of deleted scenes so they can compact it down to a 102 minute movie.

You hear wrong. The original script was never lost, in fact it's easily found online and has been for ages. What's lost is the 20 minutes of footage the studio made Barker cut and that hasn't been found. And currently there's no remake planned. - Scarecrow
